OL dominoes are about to tip over.

Jagusah was not the post visit commitment looking for but still likely lead. Freeling will likely make the OV trip to South Bend and Clemson and we will see over the summer more than likely, plus this weekend. OSU didn’t want Siereveld to get past this last weekend. Harry’s turn. Clemson didn’t want Absher to get past two weekends ago. Harry’s turn. Pendleton may be done with visits whenever that puts a decision.

It seems likely only Jagusah and Freeling are uncommitted in short order. Can Harry go at least 2/3 on Siereveld/Absher/Pendleton?

Absher told Clemson On3 recently, “If me, Sam and Monroe all chose the same place, that would really be something special with how talented these class of 2023 linemen are.”

But to which school?

👀

Unless Absher has a plan to get Siereveld to consider Clemson, ND is the only common thread between the three of those guys.

I could be reading it wrong, but his quote was " me (Absher), Sam (Pendleton) and Monroe all chose the same place". Not sure Siereveld plays a role in that statement.

You're right. That means Clemson looks like our competition for that trio, and if Absher is considering the benefits of a package deal, that increases the stakes significantly.

Though we've got twice as many OL on NFL rosters right now than Clemson, and Hiestand has to be favored over whoever the f*ck "Thomas Austin" is, right?

Edit: He appears to be Clemson's version of Chris Watt.

.9619 4* Monroe Freeling - SC - FAR - 6/7/21, 10/2/21, 4/23/22
.9113 4* Sullivan Absher - NC - FAR - 1/29/22, 4/23/22
.8960 4* Austin Siereveld - OH - 4h - 11/6/21, 1/29/22, 4/2/22
.8922 3* Sam Pendleton - NC - FAR - 4/8/22

Posted this a little while back in the OLine thread but basically I think ND would like to grab 3 of these guys. Not sure exactly where guys sit on the priority list and who would be taken but if Harry Hiestand's history has shown us anything it is that he won't wait around. He likes to get his classes done FAST. The good news is with the Clemson trio they've got multiple trips to ND before making a decision which gives more of a fair shot against Clemson. My prediction is Jagusah, Siereveld, and Pendleton, my hope is Jagusah, Freeling and Absher, and my prayer is adding Proctor or Okunlola to that group come the fall. Either way it should be a darn good class. We'll see!

With James and Pendleton committing in short order, some offensive recruiting momentum is starting up, especially on the OL. Assuming Absher makes it to campus, that domino will probably fall next whether it's for Clemson or ND. Same with Siereveld between ND and OSU. Could realistically be done with offensive line recruiting by end of May.

Is Okunlola out of play? I remember he was in some articles about his ND interest about a month ago

Jayden Limar may pop as well.

Think he’s only made a Michigan/MSU double visit all spring. Probably will try to get him to use a OV but don’t think anyone is optimistic with him ( ND or anywhere)

Is this conceivable, even if not realistic?

A defensive class of
Shuler and Bowen (S)
Gray, Bell, Tease (CB)
Bowen, Zinter, M'Pemba (is Ausberry just an illusion?)(LB)
Keeley, Houston, Vernon, Moore, Traore DL

I concede challenges in holding on to Bowen and Keeley

Ausberry more likely than M’Pemba IMO. Not sure what to make of Tease still, not expecting him unless things are made more clear for now. Other than that yeah it’d say that’s the realistic goal.

Would be interesting how if James reclassifies this could impact the WR board. We have 3 guys off the top of my head who could be on offense or defense in 2023: Hanaflin (spelling?), Tease and Love. Tease wants to play WR. You could now say you take him and Gallagher as your slot WR body

Yeah offensive versus defensive class is tough with this many ATHs haha. Hanafin sounds like upside is likely on D but don’t think he cares. Tease prefers O, reportedly. Love I think most likely is O, he liked when Missouri pitched RB/WR but saw a blurb he didn’t like Michigan pitching D.

Wonder how this class will breakdown in the end in terms of 5*/4*/3* compared to our previous classes.

To me, Irvin and Zinter are high 3 stars. No one we commonly talk about as top targets are 3 stars IMO. Some services are way off on Limar, Siereveld, and Pendleton I know are a few with that status at some places

Don’t see that too often, if ever
I think Day's time on 3rd base is starting to come to and end.
Don't get me wrong, tOSU will continue to be a major power and isn't dropping to mediocre status anytime soon, but they've lost the Urban edge that made them a perennial Top 3 team. The defense has already shown weakness, and they still had too much talent to be losing to Michigan last year. Day just can't compare.

For our sake I hope he can keep OSU competitive enough that they don't axe him.

On the other hand, they are getting arguably even better talent at QB and WR, and while their defense was admittedly bad last year, they went out and got the most coveted DC on the market.

Plus, maybe its not a good idea to declare the winner of a race that's still got a long way to do.

I was sharing this line of thinking and then he flipped Lincoln's CB for 2024's #1.

Yea....OSU is likely to have the most explosive offense under Day while he is there. The talent stacking at the skill positions is second to none IMO. However, it's the other side of the ball that is the difference between Urban and Day IMO. Maybe that has changed with Knowles. Maybe not. We will see. But outside of Bama at the moment, there is no other program that has been, or will be, as consistent as OSU.
