Lions have been from Bad to Mediocre since the coming of the Super Bowl. Only one other time they made it to the Conference Championship and they lost that too. It was an unprecedented year for a historically bad team. Having a good kicker isn't on the checklist when you're the Lions lol. Maybe they'll change that next season.
Funny enough through all the bad Lions years in my lifetime ,the only thing I counted on for sure was a kicker; Jason Hanson '92 to 2012 ; Matt Prater 2014-2020.

But, Campbell doesn't pick and choose when to go/not. If it meets the criteria he goes. There's expectation set and its not fly-by-seat.

Yesterday; before half kicked from close to the 3 - would've went if it was slightly closer; last week vs. Bucs 4th down on the 4 kicked.

2-2 vs. Rams and Bucs (Rams 4th down and 1 from 2 yard line)
1-3 (0-2 that mattered) . Dropped pass - good defense disguise. Those the breaks.

They were more likely to win converting one of those vs. attempting both field goals IMO.

Incredible longevity for Hanson, wow

Taylor Swift and Usher will be at the Super Bowl. Eminem would have been, but Dan Campbell screwed it up.

Nobody would have invited Kid Rock. He's not 313 anyway.

I don't get the joke, don't the J6ers hate Swift and Travis "Mr. Pfizer" Kelce?
I don't know, but it seems like the only people that are happy the Chiefs are once again going back to the Super Bowl are Chiefs fans or Taylor fans. Ravens vs. Lions would have been a lot of fun, but both teams either got screwed or screwed themselves.

I don't get this sentiment at all. I am not really a fan of the NFL, but I do watch during the playoffs. Which team supposedly got screwed? The ones that completely gave up a 17 point lead or the ones that played stupidly with a QB that didn't play to expectations?

I despise the 49ers so much, but I am so sick of KC's dominance. I'm really torn here.

I think KC will ultimately win, so I guess I'll have to sprinkle some cash on them, and there's the answer as to who I'll be "rooting" for.

The Chiefs are the dominant force in the League right now. Tom Brady's post 9-11 Super Bowl, his first, was a great story. By the end, few if any neutrals really wanted to see them winning things anymore. It's only natural. That's sports. The Chiefs are incredibly popular, which also makes them incredibly disliked. I think you can find this to be the case with the 90s Cowboys and the Brady Patriots. It is hard for fans to be indifferent to good teams.

I don't get the Taylor Swift hate myself, mostly because the weirdos on social media who have such a beef with it are many of the same ones who said they'd never watch the NFL again and they were saying that 8 years ago. She's dating a football player and they both seem happy, at the present time anyway. Some of these dudes need to go find themselves some happiness. Unless hating on TS on the internet is it. To each their own. We all leave receipts in the end. There are plenty of coaches and players I don't like in sports. One just slithered his way to Los Angeles from Ann Arbor. I hope he loses more than he wins.

I wanted KC and Detroit to win. My guess is that most Browns, Bengals and Steelers fans did not want to see the Ravens win yesterday. The Lions were a great story. They still are. Quite a few likeable people there.

I like all three QBs. Mahomes is a generational talent. He's going to win more Super Bowls and that success breeds contempt. Brock Purdy was Mr. Irrelevant. Certain sports pundits have an agenda against him and want him to fail. I Don't understand it. Lamar Jackson as a three star recruit from Florida that went to Louisville, won the Heisman and has already proven a shitload of people wrong about him. The narrative and agenda are there against him too. Jared Goff, we were told, wasn't a franchise championship quarterback. I think he's a huge part of the Lions current project and the success they had this year.

I didn't have any issues with any of the four teams. I think a Super Bowl with any of the four would have been fine, but that's just me. Once the Packers are eliminated, I can enjoy the Playoffs. @Some Irish Bloke and I are still cool regardless.

How many times did Detroit need to convert one of those 4th and 2’s or 4th and 3’s against the 49ers D during the regular season as part of that 15 for 20 stat? Zero. This is a championship level D. A Defense that is much better than the D’s they faced week after week during the season. Take the points.

The general sentiment is that the Chiefs get away with a lot of holding in the playoffs despite being one of the league's highest offenders in holding penalties during the regular season. They were #2 behind the Cowboys, 22 vs. 21 holds. The refs can only call it so often. On the flip side they're one of the least penalized teams for Roughing and Unnecessary Roughness, tied for the least in both categories, while Mahomes is protected well by refs and often draws borderline calls. Baltimore ended up having 3 times as many penalties in that playoff game, which I guess is consistent in the big games against the Chiefs. They rarely get flagged in the big ones.

I don't know if I necessarily buy the sentiment either, but that seems to be the narrative that's going around.

How about that Chiefs defense though - wow. I thought Baltimore was a no brainer to win it all as I didn't see anyone getting to 20 on them. Turns out they couldn't and it didn't matter.

Mahomes had to be damn near perfect to get 6 yards an attempt and 8 yards a completion.

This guy is 28 years old. He's been with six different teams and three of those six he's done second stints (Colts, Titans, Lions). He just joined the active roster on December 29th.

He missed seven extra points in college.

The Lions seem to have put themselves in this position with the kicking situation.

Yep, you have to stop the bleeding regardless of what your identity is or what the analytics say. Extend the lead and give your team a mental chance to catch their breath. Like calling a time out in b-ball when the opposition has cut your 14 point lead down to 8.

Johnson has told the Seahawks and Commanders he's staying in Detroit.

The Commanders reportedly did a follow up interview with Dan Quinn earlier today.

Brandon Staley is interviewing for the Rams DC job vacated by Raheem Morris. That should be interesting given what has been said back and forth since he left there.

No idea how legitimate that relationship is, but you've got to hand it to the NFL for finding a way to capitalize on her popularity and tap into a new market.

Everyone is going to pile on Lamar, but this is a pretty damning indictment of Todd Monken's game plan on Sunday. I'm still surprised at how they came out and approached this game. They abandoned the run very early.

Nguyen is a good social media follow.
