Votes are public.

Welcome back to our weekly Wednesday morning prediction poll! Just like last year, I will try my best to carve out some time during the week and get a spreadsheet going to track these results.

Sadly, @ACamp1900 did not get a single prediction correct last year. Let's hope for all of our sakes he goes 0-12 this season as well.

I'm more pessimistic than most, but I think this is a nightmare scenario for Freeman's first game. 41-20. (Obligatory would love to be wrong.)

I've got 38-24 Ohio State.

ND acquits themselves well, behind some early offensive success for Tommy/Tyler, as OSU's defense doesn't know quite what to look for from ND's offense in the early going.

ND's defense will also start off hot, with some early pressure on Stroud.

But OSU's skill players will eventually wear out our secondary, and OSU will grind the game out late with TreVeyon Henderson picking up chunk yardage, and getting them a two-score lead late with a long run.

I think this is going to be a very challenging game for a first time HC. The Shoe is awful to play in for visitors. The good from this game is it will show Marcus and the team what the top Natty hunting programs are like AT HOME.

If the game was at ND it would be a lot better.

ND 31 - OSU 30
Irish run game will be dominate. We will give up some big plays to the wideouts. Buchner will lead ND down for a last second field goal.

OSU 35-27.

Team comes ready to play, but the night atmosphere with a new coaching staff and new QB is just too much to overcome. Wouldn't mind seeing a rematch here at the end of the year if both teams progress in the ways I expect them to. Would be fun.

I've got a feeling this is going to play out a lot like the UGA game in Athens in 2019, just a little higher scoring. I can see a confident, energized ND team playing strong out of the gate for their HC, flying all over the field and dominating up front. We run the ball well on the first drive and it opens up a few easy reads for TB12 on the play action to get his confidence going. ND will lead by a touchdown going into the break.

OSU has the more experienced HC and a much more experienced QB and I think this is where they separate themselves in the second half. OSU will bring in some extra blockers to give Stroud some more time to pass and he starts to carve up our secondary a bit. Buchner has a costly 4th quarter TO with the game on the line and OSU scores late to put us away.

OSU 34 -ND 31

I think it's close until the fourth quarter. I could see ND with a chance late. We lose by 10 with a late touchdown by OSU.

38-28 OSU...but a much closer game. Take the OVER.

OSU receivers are too good and Stroud will make huge plays. Also, Ade running his mouth won't help even though I don't mind it lol. There's too much scar tissue built up from little game Kelly to think ND can walk into the Shoe and come away with a win.

Irish take the early lead. OSU reclaims the lead late 1st half. OSU maintains the lead until mid 4th Q when the Irish go up three. OSU gets one final chance late in the fourth when the Irish get an interception to seal the 34-31 win.

2023 ND Stadium hosting OSU looks like this...

ND fans selling tickets should require a phone call singing the Victory March from prospective buyers.

OSU score two touchdowns in the first three drives and the place is bonkers. ND claws back to 20-10 at the half and scores opening series to get within 7, but OSU answers with a score and doesn't look back. 44 24 final.

OSU 38-31. Game week kool aid has me feeling like ND shows that they are a really good time but OSU is just better. I think OSU gets off to a hot start and ND makes it interesting late. Just don't have enough to make it happen.

I see it as being 38-24 Bucknuts. Pains me to say it, but I think the skill position advantages for Ohio State will be too much to overcome. I think ND's advantages in the trenches will keep them in the game late into the third quarter, but I don't see Notre Dame being able to hold up in the secondary against Smith-Njigba and Harrison Jr. I see Tyree and Estime having big games, as well as Mayer and Styles.

Hope to be wrong.
