No idea why but St Johns at MSG just give me boogeyman vibes. So many games have been like this for Marquette where they somehow find a way to win. Take that insight as you will when making your brackets
Nice come back win for your boys today.

Probably because Lou is keeping an eye on them. ;)

Listening to the radio today, it sounds like this wasn't necessarily Boeheim's decision.
The last two years have not been pretty.

I appreciate his longevity but I was never a fan. Mostly because the only championship he ever won cost me money, but I also blame Roy Williams for that too. LOL

Crazy to see the household names that dominated the 2000s in Coach K, Roy Williams, and now Boeheim all retired. Got to think Izzo doesn't have much more time left right?

Good call. He's been there since 95-96. He was 16-16 that year. Never had a losing season.

The only guys with longer tenures are at Oakland and Houston Baptist. Mark Few is next after Izzo.

That's a hell of a run.

He definitely was pushed out. Frankly, he should have retired back in 2018 when he originally planned to, but he wanted to coach his sons. Most good ones don't leave gracefully, in part due to the competitiveness that made them good works against them.

Georgetown and Ewing parting ways. Additionally, St John’s plan to fire Mike Anderson. Slick Rick Pitino rumored for the St John’s job.

Its not the same as it was with the Old Big East, but Villanova, UCONN, and Providence still draw great crowds. Used to make the drive every year from Philly when ND was in it.

ACC is objectively a better conference, but the Big East would be more fun to be in IMO. All the catholic schools would result in some great rivalries.
The Big East was very cool. Though not big on Creighton being in...its in the middle of the country lol.

Rick going to St. John's would be very based. Dude belongs in the concrete jungle.

I'm not sure that's accurate. Coach K, Roy Williams, Gene Keady, Jud Heathcoate, Wooden, Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp all went out gracefully. I will quantify that Rupp had to step down as there was a mandatory retirement age for state employees back then.

Bob "Don't call me Bobby" Knight's departure was more along the lines of Boeheim.

Pitino's name being thrown around in sentences with Georgetown and St. Johns. Beard already hearing from Ole Miss.

Ya gotta love it.

Myles Brand relieved Knight of his duties at IU. He resigned at 12-8 at Tech in his final season while it was still in progress. Did Boeheim actually get relieved by his superiors? I honestly haven't been following the situation.

You're right about all of those other guys. Have to assume Izzo will go out on his own terms as well, which would be the right thing to do.

From several stories on the radio, it sounds like Boeheim might have quietly been given an ultimatum. Sounded like some wanted him gone a few years ago, because his uncertainty from year to year was costing them recruits and the program was going in the wrong direction. Brand had a major hard-on for Knight and everyone knew it wasn't going to end well. Knight failed to realize it was time, thus my comparison.

Purdue gets by Rutgers in the B1G tournament. Heck of a game. Extremely physical.

Alabama cruises past Miss St.

Bobby Knight went the way of Tommy DeVito in Goodfellas. It was revenge for Billy Batts...and a lot of other things. He faced the accountability music and the tune was long overdue.

Boeheim is pushing 80. He took over when Gerald Ford was POTUS. It was probably time.

i bet the Purdue message boards get put on lockdown tonight with the way boilermakers fans are going act posting wise
Does a bathroom stall at the XXX burger count as a message board? Bc I kind of feel like that is where they swap frustrations in Tippecanoe county.

Flight tracking season in full effect for Cooley to Georgetown. Lot of smoke and he didn’t necessarily deny it during post game interviews last night
