Ya'll signed up for Peacock yet? If not, we've got an absolutely abysmal lineup to keep your mind off of ND/NBC making moves on your wallet (no comment on those of you who might still watch ND through other, illicit means...).
Keep in mind there are no Thursday games thanks to the return of the NFL, so you'll have to settle with just TWO days of action, rather than the traditional three (or five, like we were spoiled with last week).
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10
.
.
- Watch Grayson McCall and Coastal Carolina's skill players do their thing against an overmatched Kansas. Pure entertainment factor here.
- UTEP is 2-0, while Boise State is coming off of a heartbreaker/frustrating loss to UCF... is UTEP a threat, or is Boise going to work some things out?
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 - EARLY GAMES
.
.
- Absolutely abysmal slate, but WKU and Army should be entertaining (WKU's QB might throw for a million yards), and it gets your day started a half hour earlier than usual.
- The big money game, the Ducks travel to Columbus for BIG NUDE SATURDAY. Are they in danger of getting blown out? Or were they overlooking Fresno State? Does CJ Stroud struggle against what is supposed to be a good Ducks defense?
- You are free to watch the misery that will be Pitt/Tenn on ESPN, but I choose to watch Michael Mayer's older brother play QB against PJ Fleck and the Gophers instead.
- This is going to be a blowout, but it's at least interesting that Florida will play AT USF.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 - AFTERNOON GAMES
.
.
- Go Irish. Get that defense ironed out. Beware a VERY experienced Toledo team hanging around. Get the WR's involved early and often, opening things up for Mayer and the RB's later.
- UPSET ALERT: UGA will be hungover early, and Bill Clark's guys will make it competitive early... but then UGA's talent will pull them out of the fire in the 3rd quarter.
- Get a look at new-look A&M, see if they're worthy of their lofty ranking.
- UPSET ALERT: I'm putting PSU on upset alert both from a big(ish) game hangover, and also because Ball State was surprisingly capable last year, especially on defense (shoutouts to our old friend and Ball St d-coordinator Tyler Stockton... he's gonna get a shot to be a HC if he wants it).
- Honor the troops and tune in as the battle for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy begins.
- Is this the highest-rated matchup in the history of El Assico?
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 - LATE GAMES
.
.
- Everyone appears to be jumping onto the "TEXAS IS BACK" train very quickly. A lot of faith in Sark's makeover. We'll see how they handle an Arkansas team that might be kind of stubborn.
- The U did themselves no favors by scheduling Appalachian State as a 'Bounce Back' game after playing Alabama. They might very well start 0-2.
- Watching Kentucky is a guilty pleasure for me. Will Levis might be the legit QB that Stoops has been searching for.
- I'm sure scUM wanted a highly-ranked Washington to visit the Big House... instead, they get a team that just lost to Montana. No-win situation here for scUM, which is GREAT.
- HOLY WAR
- Night cap; Scout two future opponents; it would be a perfect summation of both Shaw AND Helton if Shaw gets his shitty team to upset USC, taking some shine off the victory when ND beats USC in late October.
