Noie, the SBT beat writer who covers NDMBB was asked in his chat which seniors are coming back. He thinks Ryan is the only sure yes. He thinks Goodwin is 50/50 and doesn't expect Laz, Hubb Wertz or Carmody to return. He doesn't expect Atkinson to get the waiver for the fifth year.

He thinks Wesley returning is a "big if"

Noie is kind of a jerk IMO but he's better tuned in to the team than most.

Ryan is quoted as saying he’s coming back. I assumed Laz & Goodwin would return but if they’re ready to move on w/ life, I get that, too. Isn’t Wertz expected to transfer? No one thinks Atkinson will get the waiver which sucks for ND & him.

Wesley seems a toss-up, too. I’m just a fan but he looks like another year of experience would do him well but maybe the NBA is betting on his overall potential.

Purdue has less basketball history than ND
Purdue and ND's basketball records are almost carbon copies

National Championship: Purdue 1932 - ND 1929 & 31
Records: Purdue 1884-1052 .642 W-L% - ND 1937-1067-1 .645 W-L%
NCAA Tournament: 33 Years (44-32), 2 Final Fours, 0 Championships - ND 37 Years (40-41), 1 Final Four, 0 Championships
All Americans: Purdue 36 - Notre Dame 21
Conference Champion: Purdue 24 Big Ten Regular Season Championships - ND 1 Time (Reg. Seas.), 1 Time (Tourn.)

Second to IU in all time wins in Big Ten 1,865 to 1,855

I get the disappointment in Brey not being at bookers game but Solomon is a better recruiter than Brey. Why not send your best recruiter there

Also I agree with everyone that Noie is a jerky jerk.

He also said Brey wouldn’t be back this past year so I take his comments with a grain of salt.

He can let his assistants do the recruiting, but he can at least be present.

I’m not worried about it. Brey has been doing better recruiting as of late so until booker commits somewhere else or cuts us out of his top schools I’ll wait to judge how he did with bookers recruitment

I enjoyed watching him progress throughout the year. His Rutgers game was a masterclass. I think he will find plenty of success in Europe.

Hopefully they land that Wright State transfer.

Bummer for ND MBB but happy for him. Had a great season for us. Agre 100%, he was something else during that Rutgers game.

What’s the difference? I thought if you declare for the NBA draft you can pull your name back out.

You don't post a tweet that's worded in that way if you are "testing the waters". That is a goodbye tweet and thanking everyone for everything. It's just different than what Brey had communicated to the media.

Oh well. Don't blame him if he's being told that he will definitely go in the first round.

That how it seems to me as well.

I still really like this team with JJ Starling coming in. Nate coming back and a transfer big are needed though.

Tim O’Malley says he’s still unlikely to leave and wants to go through the process as practice, but I agree @ab2cmiller that does read like a good bye.

Prister reiterated he thinks he will be back.

All weird. Would hate to see him go so soon when they can be legit next year.

Guess we will see.

I'll also add that I know the ACC was perceived to be in a "down" year this year. Duke and UNC make the FF. 3 ACC teams, including Miami, made the Sweet 16. ND was fairly close to making it 4. And, ND finished tied for 2nd with UNC and ahead of Miami.

In reflection, that's pretty damn good.

I believe that’s correct as long as you don’t have an agent.
so it probably means he is hiring and agent. After all, those are the guys who tell you how much money you are going to make. Brey probably doing some rear guard action here which would explain the taking down of the tweet.

Even if he just "tries out" without the agent I doubt if he'll come back. The NBA has already see his games and they're not idiots; they know he's not ready. But he'll test well and someone who doesn't need immediate help will take him and stash him in the G league for development.

terrible Nov and Dec really hurt us as far as rating and perception goes. Too bad we couldn't close the deal with Texas Tech that would have erased all doubts.
