Before I kick off this thread I want to say ND is doing a much better job identifying prospects and getting more offers out in the current class. That being said...

ND is woefully behind making early impressions on the current class of sophomores.

Here's a look at other schools and their offers:

Tennessee = 98

Florida = 89

Georgia = 82

Michigan = 78

Bama = 61

Ohio St = 49

LSU = 48

FSU = 44

Auburn = 39

Miami = 39

Oklahoma = 34

Penn St = 30

USC = 28

A&M = 24

ND = 18

Well things went according to plan at TE... just as predicted:

http://www.irishenvy.com/forums/notre-dame-football-recruiting/326020-20-te-class-unbelievable.html

Next, it's time to get on the OL's and WR's.

Much like 2019, ND is going to be forced to pass on some guys that most P5's would kill for. I hope they can wrap up Kevin Pyne asap. You know the Pyne family wants to spend each and every weekend together watching their kids... right?

Next up, Michael Carmody. Why isn't he offered yet? This guy is an elite athlete at his size. If ya liked Andrew Kristofic, how can ya not love Carmody? Once again, the family angle comes into play with bro Robby on the hoops squad.

If they can land the bookends, then it's take who fits best out of:

Pete Skoronski
Andrew Raym
Bryn Tucker
Chris Mayo
Jake Lugg - I'm not sure how far Lil Lugg has progressed but I'm rooting for him.

If for some reason Pyne and Carmody doesn't happen keep an eye on:

Turner Corcoran (OSU lean?)
Chad Lindberg
Jimmy Christ
Walker Parks
Andrew Gentry

One of the main reasons I want them to grab some high end OL's sooner rather than later is OSU has come out of the corner swinging in '20. They've already got commitments from 5* Paris Johnson, 4.5* Luke Wypler and 4.25* Jake Wray. On top of that, they lead for multiple 4.5* and 5*'s who could make their haul tough to beat. Let's keep O Line U next to TE U in SB where it belongs.

At WR it's well documented:

AJ Henning (as a Rocket APB)
Gee Scott
Jordan Johnson
Daniel Jackson

are at the head of the pack. Jadon Thomson is an offer away from joining them.

Others I'll be watching are:
Porter Rooks
John Humphreys
Tommy Christakos
David Baker
Silas Starr.

ND has to really clean up in '20 with '19 being such a down year for RKG's at the position.

Speaking of 2020, Kevin just put out a very good piece on guys who have ND interest in their Top 100:

https://247sports.com/college/notre...th-Notre-Dame-interest-119750964/#119750964_7

Give it a read if you haven't already.

I could definitely see an OL class of Carmody, Pyne, Raym, and Skoronski. That class may not be better than what OSU brings in for 2020, but when combined with our 2019 class.... I wouldn't exchange with anyone else in the country.

This. ND is in the catbird's seat regarding OL roster through 2020. Love everything that's going on. Of course I called this in my infamous "Welcome to O Line U" thread a few years ago. Now where's that pat myself on the back emoji?

All good points but defense needs some work on 2020.

I'll touch on that and RB's tomorrow. The obvious players here aren't lined up as neatly as TE/OL/WR.

That'd be fine but I'm all but guaranteed to be absent for the SC game. Heck if I'm lucky I'll watch half of it

You know what, I'm going to say it. With the O line recruiting that we have had over the last several years, and continue to achieve, we should be able to run the ball like ALABAMA. We really should be able to impose our will on anybody. And yet we can't.

Actually, we did last year. Please look at numbers before deriding our team and/or staff.

You can judge for yourself. From a pure running standpoint, I would still give Bama the nod, but it was certainly closer than prior years.

It was better to be sure. I just don't see Alabama getting stuffed by Miami or Stanford.

I also don't see Alabama game planning against Miami by using long, slow developing run plays.

Bama ran for under 4 YPC (3.2) against LSU, while ND's YPC against LSU in the Citrus Bowl was 4.67. There's a common opponent whom they actually played.

So ND should be able to claim the NC? Come on their is a clear difference when watching ND and Bama

And we could also compare our game vs Georgia and Bama's game vs Georgia

Couldn't last night because I was on mobile, and it turns out I had to spread reps around before getting him again.

Thanks for getting him for me, reps

Your crush on NDC is embarrassing.

Brought these over from the Tristen Sinclair thread:

The one thing that concerns me is they have very little traction with national LB's in the '20 class. They have some in state guys who could be good enough to offer in Ty Wise & Jay Higgins.

2020 LBer Scholarships

RS SR 3* Jonathan Jones
RS SR 3* DJ Morgan
SR 4* Isaiah Robertson
RS JR 3* Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
RS JR 3* Drew White
RS SO 4* Shayne Simon
RS SO 4* Jack Lamb
RS SO 4* Matthew Bauer
RS SO 3* Ovie Oghuofo
RS FR 4* Osita Ekwonu
RS FR 3* Jack Kiser

That’s 11 dudes and ND seems to be trying to go after 1 more linebacker in this 2019 class. Obviously it’s 2 years until the next signing class is finishing up so a lot can change but I can see the LBer class being anywhere from 2-4 guys at the moment. But for the 2020 class there are a few names to consider...

.9775 4* Kalel Mullings - MA - visiting 7/27 for a 3RD TIME. OFFER HIM NOW!!
.9431 4* Jaylen Harrell - FL - From Berkeley Prep (OSU’s NPF went there) High academics
.9232 4* Kaden Johnson - MN - think he’s about 7 hours away/from Quinn Carroll’s region
.9152 4* Jordan Botehlo - HI - One of my faves. Gonna be 6’3” 240-250 and a beast
.9119 4* Korey Smith - NJ - Peddie School (sent 3 kids to Vandy & UVA in ‘18 class)
.9044 4* Ethan West - VA - BC, Duke, UF, Maryland, Michigan, UNC, Vandy, UVA, WF
.9038 4* Deamonte Trayanum - OH - visiting 9/1, trailing OSU

The end of NDCrusader’s post had me thinking about 2020 for LBers and I think it’s a long way off so many many things are going to change but i think Crusader is right in that ND is not in big with a lot of the top guys but I think they are strong contenders for a few already. I think Kalel Mullings is a must offer and should be the day 1 top of the board target at LBer. I also think there are some higher academic guys in that 4* range right now that could be targeted by ND in the near future. Ethan West out of Virginia has a boatload of high academic offers and length/athleticism to fit right into Clark Lea’s defense. Deamonte Trayanum is a guy who ND should blow away on his 9/1 visit and has mentioned he goes to a very similar type of school to ND. I think it will be a second class in a row where ND’s need isn’t dire for numbers and depth but rather just going after the best talent and hoping a few fall in love with Notre Dame. Kalel Mullings comes to ND in 3 days so this should get interesting.

If mullings gets offered he is seriously going to consider ND. Been there 3 times just begging for an offer.

Some notes about the '20 players mentioned above:

First off, 2020 LB starts with Cody Simon. He's ND's to lose.

Kaleel Mullings hasn't been offered because Lea wants to see some Jr. tape. He's told him this per Mullings' in interviews. Should we expect Lea to change his mind and offer on Friday? I'll add, there are some that think he's all Michigan and if I remember this correctly, he skipped an important date with Lea in SB during camp season to attend some camps Michigan was attending. I haven't looked for local Boston/Regional pieces that often shed light on a recruit's feelings but spidey-senses says this isn't good.

90% sure Jaylen Harrell is a DE in college. To play LB in college at that size, you need film like Brandon Smith, Jack Lamb, Nick Henrich... I don't see that kind of burst.

Kaden Johnson = Love. (Love a few of his teammates too, one's below at Rover.)

Jordan Botelho = Writing's on the wall and that wall won't be in Indiana. Wish it was.

Korey Smith = I wish he was longer but his tape is real nice. Definitely worth recruiting.

Deamonte Trayanum = Unless he grows 2-3 inches, he's a RB only. Read he isn't even the full 5-11 he's listed at.

Ethan West = Yes, Yes & more yes. Not sure where he projects best, Drop, Buck or Mike. My idea... sign him and figure it out later.

Others I'd chase (or keep a close eye on) if they are hurdleless:
Bryce Austin - MI
Ben Kruel - WI
Lanell Carr - MO
Nikhai Hill-Green - PA
Damian Sellers - AZ
Tyler Berrong - FL
Craig McDonald - MN
TJ Wise - IN
Jay Higgins - IN
Ryan Brandt - IN
Logan Burks - IN

W/r/t Kalel, ISD seemed to think he's not as high on ND as we are on him.
