You miss the Florida State game two years ago?

Miami in the Sun Bowl comes to mind too. Hard to read too much into that one given it was a bowl, but I've never seen a team come out as flat and slow as they did.

Both beat me to it, and I would add Miami (FL) at Solider Field in 2012 too. They did not want to be there and we rolled.

I don't think it will affect Clemson as much, if at all, but to act like it doesn't have a benefit is ignorant. THese are teams that generally don't travel north much, let alone after Halloween. Players aren't used to the weather and conditions, our boys are.

Whether or not it is actually a sizable advantage or not, we'll take any advantage we can get, big or small.

I always knew that Phil would break ND's heart this year, I just didn't know it'd take a schedule change to get BC on the schedule.

We play six Atlantic Division teams, adding three (FSU, BC, Syr) from prior schedule. The only Atlantic team we do not play is NC St.

We play four Coastal Division teams, adding one (NC).

Three of the four ACC teams added are in Nov. (BC,NC,Syr).
Two of the four at home (FSU, Syr), two away (BS,NC).

Some Clemson fans are not happy that they do not have a bye week prior to ND. (Neither do we)

Nest year, we have five ACC teams on the schedule - FSU, Va, Va Tech, NC and GT). We played Va and Va Tech last year, so it's reasonable they should not been included in this years schedule.

The ACC will be back to prominence at some point.

Clemson is great

Fla State will be back

Miami will be back

NC looks like it will be good.

I don’t think joining the ACC will be a great path toward a Natty. It will be very strong IMO

Really can't ask for anything more when it comes to the schedule. I really though we'd get screwed some how. Clemson at home in November, and their bye got removed. Byes before NC and FSU. Aside from the obvious (#1 Clemson), NC is the only team I really worry about.

Brown has them on the verge of being a very good team. They don't play Clemson this year during the regular season, so we're likely their game of the year. IIRC, they didn't lose a game by more than a TD last year. Recruiting very well too. 10th so far in the current 2021 cycle, 13th last year (5 places better than ND). Couple kids in the 2020 class I could see making an early impact. I could see them being the darling of CFB early this season.

Bonus - without Navy, and with GT changing schemes, I don't have the yearly lower leg injury fears either....

I agree. But. NC Is just a Puff piece that ESPN wants to help ratings that the ACC needed last year. Are you serious on the identity of UNC? Or are you really worried?

It Is odd that the MJ documentary showed Its face...(I Love MJ). `This odd year...
Why would an ESPN commentator change the pedigree of a college just by being a coach?

NC was respectable a few decades ago with Crumb and Brown (1st stint). Brown took a team that struggled to win even a few games, and turned them into a team getting 10 win seasons before he left. If you watched them last year, they were playing like a changed team with Brown back at the helm. IIRC, only lost to Clemson to by 1. I'm a fan of Brown, and think Texas was silly to kick him to the curb for Strong. Also, you can't argue with the uptick in recruiting.

They also are a top 20 team (19th) in the Coaches pre-season rankings. So you have Clemson at #1, ND at #10, NC at #19, and VT (who we don't play) at 24, within the ACC.

I sure wish we were able to be a little more strategic with those bye weeks but all in all it should be a Clemson countdown.

5-0 leading into PITT (can be a struggle for us) and DEAR GOD no injuries after GaTech..

This looks better on paper than our usual slate - Clemson.. I’m excited.

Does GaTech even do triple option anymore? Thought they changed it up

Haven't even had a live practice yet.

Going to be a hot mess of a season, across the board.
(if it happens)

((And just wait until players start testing positive mid season))

The key is the discipline the players will need to have.

Could we get some new gameday threads and update the front page with the new schedule, whenever a mod has some spare time to do so?

BK has sounded oddly confident that the season will go on in several interviews but it's easy to have that opinion when you're squad has been impressively disciplined in their approach to controlling the virus, which has been evidenced through their testing results.

The same can't be said around the country. UCLA just had a bunch of players. I'm with Irish #1 and others; it really does come down to how disciplined these players are going to be and the coaching staff keeping them focused on the proper protocols.

Is there a scenario where the ACC as a whole is doing better than the other conferences and they proceed, whereas hypothetically the PAC 12 struggles to keep cases down, and they call their season? I guess we'll see.

ACC Championship Game becomes the de facto National Championship Game when all other conferences have to shut it down

we're in for a wild, unpredictable ride, that's for sure. I just hope we see some football, even if it doesn't work out and gets cancelled mid-way, some is better than none.

I can't imagine a September/October/November Saturday without it. Yikes.

Sounds like there is growing momentum to call the season off between a bunch of university presidents

Brett McMurphy tweeted the same, and if he says it I'm officially nervous for the first time.

Everyone should’ve been nervous since the spike started in June. It’s comical that the United States is still in the situation it’s in, but that’s what happens when you choose to politicize something like this when none of our peer countries did something similar.

Short of a miraculous decrease in new cases over the next two weeks, college football won’t be played.
