Xavier Watts is a nice prospect.

Plus size, high production on both sides fo the ball and has a NW offer. Check.

He's been waiting a long time for this offer. We'll see if he can break away from Frost's orbit. I think the Huskers had a much better class than the sites game them credit for in '19 and it looks like they are trending higher in '20. Frost will be tough to beat, hopefully he's an egghead

I also think he’s a guy who could see his speed really take off with training. Reminds of KJ Stephenson at a similar age.

Chris Tyree is a huge priority and it was awesome to get him on campus in December. Seth McGowan got a visit from the staff. He’s a high academic kid from Texas who may be inclined to leave the state (probably for Stanford tho). Reggie Love is being recruited heavily. I have no idea if he’s a plan A or plan B guy. And then my personal favorite Michael Drennen II was just offered this weekend and he lives about 4 hours away in Ohio which makes him an auto Ohio State lean but you never know. There’s also Jutahn McClain who’s expressed interest and isn’t far from ND being from Ohio but idk what kind of traction ND has. Also depends on who the new RB coach is and maybe has some connections to some different dudes. For me I’m hoping Chris Tyree is THE prospect and they go all in and continue to do so for however long it takes to get him on board.

Crus (and anyone else), what's your take on the state of 2020 RB recruiting.

Overall, I dislike ND's priorities in '20 so far.

I like they are going after Tyree and Drennen but at this point, I don't feel it.

Reggie Love seems like their best shot. He's good but they've got a roster full of good if Jafar doesn't pull a Prosise.

New RB coach should offer:

1a. Bijan Robinson - best RB in class and Lathan Ransom's teammate who ND has serious traction with.

1b. Marcellus Moore Fastest RB prospect in country just 2 hrs from campus - 10.3 100m (Henning = 10.6) - 100% Gamewrecker speed but he's small. So is Tarik Cohen.

3. Elijah Burris - UNC commit, Jeff Burris' cousin, has visited ND, stud

4. Jaden Hullaby - Bishop Dunne TX - Josh Adams type interested in ND

The Maybe's after camp/in person eval:

Marion Lukes - Get him to camp and put him under the microscope, could be another Rondale Moore from So. Indiana. Monster producer.

Landon Bartleson - KY - Another 100m track champ - good frame to hang weight.

Ethan Wright - Hugely productive, big body - 11 sec 100m - Akron kid

Tirek Murphy - NY kid - Get him on campus, I'm on the fence like the staff has been for months.

As it should be with all staffs, I think you’re going to see Long more entrenched in RB recruiting going forward (already seems to be). Not sure why he doesn’t get any of the blame for lack of skill recruiting on offense, he is the OC. How instrumental was he in getting talent for the 19’ class?

Had no idea he was that good. He is my neighbor's kid. I can definitely get some info on him.

Consistently comes up with ND nuggets the paid sites are unaware of but doesn't know neighbor has offers from 3 of ND's biggest all-time rivals...

Sir, you are an enigma!

Other than some offers that went out, any good things come out of junior day? Kinda hoping/expecting that we get some commits soon both for the 2020 and 2021 classes. This is usually the time of year that the staff really tries to fill a class.

Not really. That's spring/summer time. Last year it really started in April. It will probably be the same again. Guys that want to make early decision will take OV's and then make announcements then. Last year at this time we only had 2 commits, Lacey and Wallace.

Dontae Manning out of KC offered.

10.77 100m wheels. This will be a show when he returns on for 6.

Interesting offer. I think he's visited already and ND's offer is a new tier for him. Watch this one closely.

I should’ve worded it better. This is the time of year where the staff puts themselves in position for spring time success.

Although, two years ago they were kicking ass around this time.

I think they are. I'd be surprised if we aren't in a similar position to last year when Fall camp starts up again.

The Spring OV's really changed the game. Even if a guy was going to make an early decision, they can still do so and also take OV's. So, it's become a kind of "why not" wait until Spring to do so. It sped up timelines for some but also pushed it back for others.

NOT A SERIOUS RANT:

Yo, it's ridiculous.

'20 Recruits... YES, high 4-5 STARS ESPECIALLY.

High 3 - low 4 STARS, we see you making the wise choice with your life. Good work, guys! See you signing day. You can skip this rant:

Dear HIGH 4-5 STARS:

Stop going to Bama.

Stop going to Clemson.

Stop going to Ohio State.

Michigan's a joke. USC is a cheat school.

Maybe, just maybe, you can go to Georgia if you absolutely have to go somewhere south.

Otherwise, this is NOTRE DAME.

INCREDIBLE TRADITION, GREAT EDUCATION, 1 TITLE WILL GUARANTEE YOU LEGENDARY STATUS UNPARALLELED ANYWHERE ELSE, INCLUDING BAMA.

That's all you gotta do... get ONE TITLE and statues will be built for you. IT WILL HAPPEN.

BETTIS IS STILL A GOD ON CAMPUS.

GET THE TITLE,

Then go to the NFL after that and make that money... come back and get that degree like Jimmy Clausen (but with an actual successful NFL career, because you are 100% bonafide 5 star without the limo stunt).

YO,

THE HELMETS ARE FREAKING GOLD!!!

Miami uses fools gold in their chains.

Also, weather - a polar vortex builds character while you are young, need it, and can adapt more easily.

Playing in the cold will get you prepped for that Green Bay or Patriots contract.

YOU CAN BUY AN ISLAND SOON AFTER, INVITE MODEL GIRLFRIENDS, AND LIVE WARM FOREVER AFTER.

Or meet a smart girl at ND and have your life perspective blown wide open for healthier living.

THIS IS A NO-BRAINER.

Oh, and Stanford has a tree as a mascot. You can't play for a tree. That's just embarrassing.

Ok, I'm out.

It was Lea that was in to see him. So, he got the seal of approval from the DC.
