Iowa needs to lose and then beat Mich St in the championship game... given they beat Penn State first. That would open a slot potentially for the Irish.

Yep. That's the easiest path for ND. I'd prefer that they both win out, OK loses to OK State, Iowa beats Alabama (they wouldn't), ND beats CLemson, and ND beats Iowa.

Is that too much to ask? :)

Yeah it would have been nice to see Navy (and Pitt) come out and win, but it honestly doesn't really matter. ND needs OU to lose tomorrow night. If they lose and we win, we're in. If OU loses we're done. It's been that way all along. These scenarios where we get in over the B1G are nothing more than wishful thinking.

Root for OK ST tomorrow night. That's our only prayer.
nope... You are wrong.

Yeah, I'm not even convinced we're in if Ok State wins...

Baylor would potentially have a less impressive win tonight against TCU, and the committee isn't high on OK ST. Their non conference is a joke. Can't see them jumping all the way to the top 4 if they win.

I don't care at all about vbucks, but I'll bet any amount I have with anyone that we're in if we beat Stanford and OU loses tomorrow night.

How so?

You guys need to look at Okie St and Baylor's OOC schedules. The committee is killing them for that. Remember, the question was for spots 3-6, not 6-8.

Hokie is exactly right..

Yeah, but both of them have a chance to make a "statement" win and our schedule's starting to look pretty weak itself.

True, but that would simply replace Navy now. A 9-3 Stanford will be ranked at about 15, right where Navy was.

TCU isn't in the top 15 and sure as hell isn't going to move into it if they lose to Baylor.

OK ST would have one good victory (OU, while we'd have Stanford) and one decent victory (TCU, while we'd have Navy/Temple/USC). Both of those victories would be at home too.

There is absolutely no chance Baylor or OK ST jumps us if we win tomorrow. It's OU or bust for the big 12.

I hope you're right and I hope we get a chance to find out. I guess my fear is that they're not going to put is in over a 1 loss conference champ given our relatively "meh" schedule, as long as the conference champ's schedule isn't terrible.

E. I'm also not sure Stanford would really be a good win if we beat them.

Our schedule is a juggernaut compared to the big 12 schedule.

I have no idea what you're even talking about with Stanford. It would absolutely be a good win. They'll still be top 15 if we win

Does it matter to us who wins the baylor/tcu game? Who should we be rooting for.

No matter what Iowa's schedule looks like, it's still a huge accomplishment to go undefeated in the regular season.

Kudos to Iowa!

I came on here to post the same question. Some may say to root for Baylor be ause it will knock TCU out of the top 25. I say root for TCU so there is no other big 12 team in the top 10 after the ok v ok st game.

And it would be great if Texas beats Baylor next week.

Yep. What are ND's stats? I don't know, but I'm curious.

I also hunch that the top 3-5 wins are pretty similar. But I may be wrong.

Our opponents are 71-59 (.546) for the season. If we win tomorrow, I dont think their resume is close. I dont see them beating an athletic team like USC, and they'd likely be destroyed by Stanford or Clemson.

They were 0-8 on 3rd down today, but Armstrong played like an 18 year old freshman and was hitting defenders in the chest. If he plays half decent, they lose.

Sure. But that's what Iowa has done all year.

I think people have me wrong here...Iowa is a very good team. Probably a to 10-15 team. I don't think they are a top 5 team. But they are a very good team with a good defense and offensive line. As a result, I think they could play with any team in the country.

I don't think they are one of the best 4 teams in the country. But if they win in the B1G title game, they deserve a spot in the final 4.

Iowa's best three wins are as good or better than ND's best three wins.

If it was ND the story would be how ND needed 4 interceptions and a missed 4th down coversion to only beat a nonbowl eligible team by one score

It's funny you say that because pretty much all measures of team strength contradict you. Iowa is not good, which is why they have had six one score games despite playing an atrocious SOS.

Who are the top 3-4 wins for ND and for Iowa?

Iowa will get their sh!t pushed in deep in the play-offs if they make it.

It'll be hilarious.

And a cunt hair loss to Clemson with our schedule, should Iowa go in over us, will be hilarious and that much more delicious watching the loss and what occurs that's illegal in all 50 US states very satisfying.
