2019 @UGA Post Game Thread

And although nobody wants to say it, losing this game was a blessing in disguise. If we did make the CFP we aren't contending with Bama or Clemson. Better to get into a major bowl game outside the CFP and get a win, for recruiting sake. With the great classes coming in 20 and 21, we will have our chance.

I don't think Bama or Clemson are as good as last year. Nobody looks legendary so far this season.

Jawga is not Bama or Clemson. Closely winning or losing against them is a far cry from either of the big dogs.

I don’t get this.... The argument from you people (who just can’t accept we’re pretty close) is we will get killed by UGA, then when you’re all proven wrong BY ACTUAL RESULTS, you shift gears and talk about how awful UGA is. They win recruiting national titles and are thought of by everyone (experts and our fan base before the game) to be right with a Bama and Clemson.

Before we jump in the rabbit hole of Clemson last year..... That was last year and we were closer than Bama was, injuries, refs, etc..........

You can run a Kelly system and not go scared and vanilla (3rd quarter) or full potato (part of 4th quarter). That's 100% on Long.

We are 10 years in and the offense has wilted in nearly every big game. Long could no doubt do better (and Kelly hired him) but blaming the coordinator is just another Kelly excuse.

1. I love this team.

2. The D is excellent and built to throttle more traditional offenses. That meat grinder o-line was built to crush but we held up just fine.

3. Swift is a bad dude.

4. Ian Book is a perfectly respectable college quarterback. Whether that can translate to national championships beats me.

5. If we have Austin, Young, Smith, Armstrong etc. I think we win this game. Just flat out didn't have enough weapons with speed.

7. What an incredible atmosphere it looked to be on the big screen television in my humble abode. Is there anything better than grade A college football at night in a raucous environment?

9. Future watch!!!!! Does Book actually test the NFL now? How much better does our running game look with Tyree and his young friends next year? I can haz legit seam TE plays? Look out 2020!

10. Finally, I think this team can legit win out and make a case for the playoffs. That feels nice to type after worrying about getting wet willied all night on a national stage via the true SEC network.

We didn’t run very many run plays which I’m extremely impressed with. Chip Long showed a great offense in the first half. I thought he could have expanded on that. There’s nothing wrong with running a trickery play twice.

I’m confident that ND can play anyone to a decent game. Barring injury obviously and maybe Bama, haha.

I'm never happy with a loss, but in comparison to some past teams, you got to admire the way this team kept playing until the final seconds ticked off the clock. They could have folded in the 3rd quarter, but didn't. This team will regroup and win a lot more games before the season ends. 12-1 or 11-2 or 10-3 is not out of the realm of possibilities. And while I don't expect us to make the play-offs, we can play in a bowl game and actually have a chance to win.

The boys played their hearts out. Based on the first two games, I expected another national embarrassment. Thankfully, ND avoided that. They competed all four quarters w/ a chance to win. Beat UVA.

Lea had a helluva game-plan w/ the personnel he was afforded.

Fromm is friggin’ unflappable. Zero sacks. Zero interceptions. Threw darts all night...even in tight coverage. I tip my hat to the young man.

This team will go as Ian Book goes. He needs an OL that lives up to their 4-star hype though. The OL will be what gets the most criticism all week regarding this game.

Why even hand off to TJJ? He’s not a feature back but it’s not his fault that Jafar can’t stay healthy & Smith was banged up. We need Jafar back ASAP.

I love Finke but he didn’t have a good night IMO. I think Keys is the better option going forward. Not trying to be harsh but you gotta put the best 11 out there on offense.

How many yards did Eichenberg cost the offense on flags? Inexcusable for a veteran like that.

Claypool is a baller and showed that tonight. You can tell he’s playing like he wants to prove he’s a first round draft pick.

Well, based on your comments-you. I respectfully disagree that UGA would get trucked or whatever by Bama. Goal post moving is what I have a problem with really. I’m not trying to come after you, but there’s a lot of “we’d get killed” comments here and I strongly disagree.

Not sure why, you'd fit right in. The current mood of the board is to sh1t all over the coaching staff and qb because we lost a night game at #3 Georgia on the last possession. Our fan base is embarrassing sometimes.

We have kids that can compete at the national level. They need to be put in a position to succeed. Defense was awesome. Offense was hamstrung. That's regrettable.

I never thought we'd get killed. Actually thought a 1-3 point game either way.

The qb played fine, if not well.

He can't throw a deep ball, has happy feet, and isn't nearly as accurate as we all thought he was.
