Wasnt sure the best thread for this link but this is as good as any.

PFF put out there top 100 graded players in CFB.

https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/college-top-101-best-college-football-players-in-2018

Notre Dame Players:

#15 - Jerry Tillery (DL)
15-Tillery-768x432.jpeg

Tillery utilized his hand speed and brute power to disrupt the passing attack of opponents like no other in 2018, leading the nation’s interior defensive linemen with his 92.5 pass-rush grade. He brought down 47 QB pressures on his 413 pass-rushes, winning 19.1% of his pass-rush snaps in a figure that is second only to Quinnen Williams. Tillery was his best against the pass but had shining moments against the run as well, proving he wasn’t just a one-trick pony in the middle of the Fighting Irish defense.

#28 - Te'Von Coney (LB)
28-Coney-768x432.jpeg

Solid across the board, Coney joins Woodward as the only two linebackers to field 90.0-plus graded in run defense, tackling, coverage and overall grade this season. His identical 91.5 facet grades in run defense and tackling efficiency show how strong he was in stopping the opponent’s rushing attack while his 90.5 coverage grade depicts just how well he stymied the opposing passing attack over the middle. He allowed just 51.4% of targets thrown his way to be caught and saw just a 50.7 passer rating on those throws.

#30 - Julian Love (CB)
30-Julian-Love-768x432.jpeg

Love’s best football was played at his position’s highest priority: in coverage. He finished with the fourth-highest coverage grade among cornerbacks and forced an incompletion on 22.8% of his targeted passes. His 14 stops in coverage were good enough for seventh most this year as he had no trouble bringing down ball carriers whether it was a receiver or a running back. In total, he missed just four of his 64 tackle attempts this year.

#48 - Alohi Gilman (S)
48-Gilman-768x432.jpeg

Finishing with the nation’s highest grade at safety, Gilman put forth one of the lower-graded outings in the College Football Playoff but that should in no means discredit what he was able to do over the course of the season. Against Syracuse’s potent aerial attack, he was targeted three times and came away with two interceptions, showcasing his elite coverage skills for the position.

I think this shows ND can def recruit and develop top end talent. But what you will see compared to the summary below is we were missing a top 100 player in the most important position compared to others. QB.

Playoff Teams:

Clemson: #3 Christian Wilkins, #5 Trevor Lawrence, #31 Dexter Lawrence, #35 Travis Etienne, #39 Justyn Ross, #80 Clelin Ferrel, #98 Isaiah Simmons (total 7, 3 DL, QB, RB, WR, and S)

Alabama: #1 Quinnen Williams, #9 Tua Tagovailoa, #10 Jonah Williams, #21 Deionte Thompson, #58 Jerry Jeudy, #65 Jaylen Waddle (total 6, DL, QB, 2 WR, Safety, OL)

Oklahoma: #2 Kyler Murray, #57 Marquise Brown, #59 Trey Sermon (total 3, all offense, QB, RB, WR)

In summary, ND had an amazing defense, which can be enough to get you to the show (evidence by 2012 and 2018) but not enough to get you over the hump (need those high end skill players, especially at QB). A very good offense can get you close as well, see Oklahoma. But teams with top 100 talent on both sides of the ball (Clemson/Bama) are how you win it all, especially when its in the trenches and at QB.

Going to be hard to find a top of the line edge guy if you arent picking at the top of the first. Unless Ballard can continue to find unbelievable steals. WR, DL are probably your best bets in those spots with outside chance a CB falls a bit depending if there are runs on certain positions (would be awesome to see Love to Colts).

With that said your options in FA for edge rushers:
http://nfltraderumors.co/top-25-2019-nfl-free-agents-list/

Cowboys def keeping DLaw. NE - do they continue to not pay big FA money or resign Flowers? Dee Ford might be a good option. Houston would be silly to let Clowney walk, especially in division. Frank Clark is a good option but i dont see Seahawks letting him walk either. Brandon Graham is good but getting towards end of career. After that its a big drop off.

I could def see colts continuing to focus on OL in the mid to late rounds. Yes they have been really good this year but depth was an issue and how much longer can you count on Castonzo? Definitely need to grab a backup center at some point in the draft. Kelly is good but def. injury prone and Josh Andrews is a large drop off (Calling Sam Mustipher??)

Would be awesome to see them grab another LB to pair with Leonard. Najee Goode will be 30 and in his 8th year. The rest of the group is very young but questionable. Safety is also another position that has had various bodies in and out of the lineup, including your prevous first rounder in Malik Hooker.

Ballard has shown he can build a team without FA though. I am very interested in the Colts draft.

Like you, I'm intrigued this year as well. More than ever I think lol.

I could see Ballard going after an Edge from a lower tier school (like Leonard was). Ximines from OD and Jaylon Ferguson Louisiana Tech are interesting prospects that will likely be available throughout their first three picks. I just don't see Ballard spending a boat load in FA on one of the top Edge guys unless he finds a decent bargain similar to Autry.

For WR, I'd definitely pull the trigger (any of our picks) if Marquise Brown or Parris Campbell is available. Either would be incredible #2 to TY. Neither are big guys, but they are fast as hell. I'd bet Ballard goes bigger, but boy would I love either of those guys. Brown, Samuel, or Harry are the likely targets and would make me happy too.

CB could go either way for me (FA or draft). I'd rather prioritize WR and Edge (I think you will be better off financially drafting them and get more bang for the buck) in the draft. Wouldn't mind getting Darby cheap in FA lol.

In terms of FA, Ballard did pretty damn good last year. He even lucked out with contract duration.

-Ebron was a huge signing and led the team in TDs. He's locked in for another year and I hope they re-up.

-Autry was a great pick up, leading the team in sacks I think. Locked in for another 2 years.

-I wasn't very high on Grant, but I think at worst he provided depth. Doubt he is re-signed (was only a one year deal).

-Slauson was solid until the injury. Still can't believe he was playing with a broken back. He's a warrior, but not sure they will re-sign him (one year deal). He definitely wants to stay.

Thirty-eight of the top fifty players on Matt Miller's latest (jan 8) Big Board are Juniors/eligible to declare early for the NFL draft.

Thirty-three of the thirty-eight Jrs of the top fifty Big Board players are entering the draft. One is returning - Raekwon Davis, DE/DL, Alabama.

The three who have not yet announced are:
4. Devin White, ILB, LSU
15. Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama
38. Mack Wilson, ILB, Alabama.

Thompson and Wilson are expected to return to Alabama along with Davis. Anfernee Jennings, LB, Shyheim Carter, DB, Terrell Lewis, LB, and Trevon Diggs, DB previously have announced they will return to Alabama.

In addition to Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama will lose Josh Jacobs, RB and Jonah Williams, OT declared for the draft.

Alabama will probably only lose two starters - Williams and Isaiah Buggs - from their defense. With nine returning starters and with numbers again tight since Alabama has signed twenty-four recruits and has four hard verbal commitments and recruiting more, who will transfer?

Update: Deionte Thompson, Mack Wilson and Devin White all declared for the draft.

Am I missing something or does he have Coney going as undrafted?
I saw Love and Tillery in the 2nd Round
Dexter in the 4th
Drue in the 7th

You're not missing anything, but the guy who wrote it is.

I didn't see him either. And I see zero chance of that happening, must have been a serious oversight on his part.

I wasn’t looking for where Notre Dame guys were mocked. I don’t think Coney will last beyond the 3rd round, let alone go undeafted. But, a decent amount of well known players go undrafted every year for a multitude of reasons.

Some team that isn't hurting could take him a little later than normal and let him rehab, like Jaylon and end up with a quality player.

Yeah, if he’s projected to go mid first, I don’t see him falling past the second. Assuming this is his first major injury then it likely won’t be a huge issue. He’ll more than likely be ready to go by the start of the season.

Broncos trade for Joe Flacco, who becomes a free agent in 2022. Denver trades back?

This draft looks like a good year for anyone that needs interior OL. Some good value there.

Greg Cosell tweeted his scouting report on Kyler Murray yesterday. Very good stuff.

John Elway. And Denver fans feel they got fleeced.

Pretty funny.

Fans react to Broncos trade for Joe Flacco (Mile High Report)

The Broncos are inheriting the three years and $63 million remaining on Flacco's contract with the Ravens. That contract is unguaranteed, so the Broncos could get out of Flacco's contract after one season if things go wrong.

In 2019, though, the Broncos will add $18.5 million to their cap, which leaves them with $18.3 million in space per Spotrac. The Ravens will save $10.5 million in cap space. However, they will carry $16 million in dead money on their 2019 cap.

Between Flacco and Case Keenum, the Broncos carry $28.5 million in dead money at the QB position. Keenum is being shopped around, but probably has no trade value with an annual salary of $18 mill for two more years. He has completed the first year in a three year contract worth $36 mill and $25 mill guaranteed and a $3 mill bonus prorated. Cutting Keenum will save the Broncos $11 mill in cap space but will carry $10 mill in a dead money hit to their 2019 cap.

This probably also means Emanuel Sanders, WR, will be cut saving the Broncos $10 mill in cap space.

I agree with the rule the NFL is implementing that states that prospective players who have been convicted on domestic violence, sexual assault or weapons charges are not allowed to attend the NFL scouting combine or draft. But it should be reviewed on a case by case basis not a blanket cover all rule. As Jaylon Ferguson doesn't fit the criteria exactly. I do not agree with the NFL decision in this case.

Some of these will change when comp picks are announced. I think they are announcing next week?

Here are the early (pre season) projections. Keep in mind the better the losses do in their new home, the higher the C-pick the sending team gets. Colts lost Moncrief and Gore. Moncrief led the Jags in YPC, and second in yards. Gore led the Dolphins in rushing. So Colts should end up with 2 more picks. The NFL doesn't share the formula it uses, but I'm guessing the Colts get a 3rd and 4th, or 4th and 5 or 6th

I have thirty-eight picks in the third round ending at 95 and included projected compensatory picks 96-102. Four of the seven went to the Super Bowl teams.

96. Washington
97. NE
98. LAR
99, Carolina
100. LAR
101. NE
102. Balt

Projecting The 2019 Compensatory Picks
(OTC, Jan 7, updatd Jan 19)

Colts get a fourth rounder for Moncrief. Gore did not fall in the thirty-two limit, which is based on APY (Average per year). (see above for ranking)

so then you know the list you pub'd isn't final, which was my original point.

note that moncrief is right on the bubble (in the projections you provided). since the nfl doesn't pub it's formula, the projections at this point, are just projections.

and gore, while on the scratch line (of what you provided) is probably considered more valuable than Shamar Stephens (the final comp pick) who only had 24 total tackles in 2018, or Cody Davis (who is higher than Stephens) and started zero games.

The compensatory picks are based on the player's contracts they signed - average per year. Your article linked also gives three round picks projected to go to Washington, NE (x2), LARams (x2), and Carolina. So the nfl.com and the Over the Cap articles agree on those six. nfl.com does not project a third rounder to Baltimore for Ryan Jensen, who signed a contract for $9 k more than Moncrief.

Maybe this helps:
This article refers specifically to OTC’s projection for the 2018 NFL Draft’s compensatory picks. For details on the basics and methodology of projecting compensatory picks in general, please reference this article.

I guess we'll see. Hope the list is informative to all. I had no idea NE had that many picks.

New England’s Projected 2019 Draft Picks

First round: No. 32 overall – original
Second round: No. 56 overall – via Chicago
Second round: No. 64 overall – original
Third round: No. 73 overall – via Detroit
Third round: Nate Solder compensatory
Third round: Malcolm Butler compensatory
Fourth round: original
Fifth round: Danny Amendola compensatory
Seventh round: via Philadelphia
Seventh round: via Cleveland
Seventh round: original
Seventh round: Cameron Fleming compensatory

They have four projected compensatory picks. They have the ammunition to move up. Or imagine if they trade back as they usually do. I have their needs as: Edge, TE, DT, WR, CB. Gronk, three WRs (Patterson, Hogan and Jordan) as well as DTs Shelton, Brown, DEs Simon and Flowers and LCB McCourty hit free agency. Pats may also need LB and RB. Many of those needs could be filled by Irish prospects.

Anyone want to do a FanSpeak?

Arizona, New England and Washington were each awarded the maximum four extra selections after losing several free agents last spring. The Rams, Vikings, and Bengals all gleaned three additional selections from the league’s proprietary compensatory formula.

FYI - Fanspeak has updated with these compensatory picks.
