Yeah, that pic had to have been taken when he was a Fr/So.

He's also the son of long time Giants TE who went to Bama and that's why there are CB's to Bama for him.

This is from this season.

His dad was the 7th TE drafted that year.

What are everyone's thoughts and expectations for the 2019 class, especially on the defensive side?

I can't help but to think that Elko, Lea, Elston, and Lyght should be able to build on who they landed in 2018 and potentially do even better in 2019. Elko landed guys like Lamb, Simon, and Allen without even coaching a down at Notre Dame!

I have pretty high expectations for defensive recruiting now. I have a feeling we might see a 5:s: or two in the 2019 class.

We should have a solid DE/DT class, tons of talent hoping we land a we stud DE's, also would love to snag a borderline 5 star corner or high 4 star. I think the biggest needs in this class will be DE's, OL, and Corners somewhat depending who we finish with in 2018

I would say that our defensive recruits should be higher rated that's for sure. With them showing improvement in the overall squad this yeah that should grab peoples attention.

Expecting 5 star recruits though is just setting your self up for disappointment.

Yeah, we haven't had a 5-star recruit since Jaylon in 2013 I believe. Kind of crazy.

In hindsight that 2016 class will probably be one of the top 2 or 3 2016 classes when all is said and done

Crusader, besides a couple guys signing later in the ESP and in February, the 2018 looks to be officially official. What is 2019 looking like? Who should we look out for? I like the start of 2019 with Lacey and McNamara.

Hopefully they can hit a couple home runs at their Junior Day(s) this coming year.

I threw up a bunch of kids on the first page of the thread. That's a start.

I'm going to drop a 2019 list before Christmas. I'm shutting down the work tabs on Thursday and will get to work then.

Two things:

1 is I hope we can wrap/take a firm lead with a couple of our Tennessee targets because Jeremy Pruitt is genuinely one of the best recruiters in the country and he's paired with a big time staff for recruiting purposes (don't know about wins on the field yet)...

.9541 4* WR Lance Wilhoite
.9434 4* DL Joseph Anderson - visited 4/2/17 & 9/9/17 & OFFERED
.9352 4* DB Wesley Walker - visited 6/24/17 & OFFERED
.9316 4* WR Trey Knox
.9303 4* WR Kendrell Scurry
.9251 4* WR TJ Sheffield
.9245 4* DL Ani Izuchukwu
.9201 4* OL Jackson Lampley
.9141 3* OL/DL Bill Norton
.9105 3* RB Eric Gray - visited 9/9/17 & not offered

2 is the excitement level over the DB recruiting. We may have missed on Kyler Gordon, Kalon Gervin decommitted, and missed on a few others, but we've pulled in two studs (Griffith & Allen) and some quality depth, and we are still very much in play for Julius Irvin and Noah Boykin. However, after all of that I am mostly excited about the 2019 DB Class! I have no definitive number, but we definitely have a way lesser need for 6-7 guys and probably more like 3-4 guys in the defensive backfield. With that said we have offers out to almost two dozen prospects and lead or are very much in it with a few amazing prospects...

.9902 5* Brian Williams - staff's no. 1 target, has visited once, Stanford/ND/Texas
.9794 4* Lewis Cine - from BK's hometown, visited once, EE who wants to wrap sooner than later
.9702 4* Julian Barnett - visited twice and staff pushed but Mich St, maybe that changes in the future
.9532 4* Litchfield Ajavon - visited twice, ND leads
.9367 4* Cam'Ron Kelly - loved his visit, ND dream school
.9352 4* Wesley Walker - visited once, hopefully can get him back on campus again soon

Tennessee will be a tough pull next year.

Take Anderson and run.

There might be 10 DB's in TN that could play at ND. How many fit is the question.

I'd like to think Wesley Walker is a possibility but it isn't the demo you'd expect. 247 lists LSU, Tenn and ND as his warms without the Bama/Clemson/UGA offers which are coming.

Watch Jackson Lampley if for whatever reason he doesn't go to UT (Dad was a Vol). Seems like a HH kinda guy.

Bill Norton... yes please. Dick Butkus nasty. Might be a better LT prospect. They didn't want O'Rourke and Norton looks like him only bigger and angrier so i won't get my hope up.

Cameron Wynn 4* ATH: Tariq Bracy 2.0. 2000+ AP yds, plays CB and already wears the Green & Gold of the Fightin Irish of Notre Dame (Chatanooga Chapter) Was committed to UTk for a bit but decom'd when Jones was on his death bed.

I used to love Trey Knox but his latest film plus production have me rethinking that.

Eric Gregory WDE from Memphis has great film but he doesn't have a Vandy offer but does have Ole Miss, Aub, Scar, UTk... 1+1=2 most times.

One to watch out for:

Chris Akporghene. 3* OL. 6-4/275. Nigerian who just played his first year of football. Came here to play basketball but he kept growing and is still growing. Basketball feet make good lineman. GREAT tape for fist year.

Has Yale, IU, Memphis, Scar & WVU offers thus far. Spidey sense is tingling.

Interested to see how the Jan. 27th Junior Day turns out now that Elko is gone and Lea might be as well. It was building up to be quite the event. For example, Hunter Spears all but told 247 that there were a couple things to clear up before a commitment was likely. Leading most to believe he was on commit watch for that visit. Brian Williams, Nana Osafo and Joseph Anderson were going to try and make it.

I guess we'll have to see at this point. Good news on the DL players for 19' is that was mostly handled by Elston.

I'm assuming they name a D.C. Before that junior day

Thank you for stating the obvious. That doesn’t mean that we’ll still be able to get those players up for visits, when they have to pay for it themselves. We are losing at least a week or two of planning, because of this. And now, we’ll have Elko in Texas recruiting against us.

Had Elko even been into see Spears? Hoping it was Lyght and Elston to this point.

I hate Texas.

I'd recruit the Catholic schools, any kid with red hair and an O' at the front of his name or any kid that blatantly asked for it. Stay in the ACC footprint and the old Big Ten area anything outside that fall back to the Catholic or Catholic School / Red headed / O'Beggin for an Offer Rule.

Xavier Truss.

Player to watch. Wiltfong just posted his profile today. He's been following ND staff for a while. Wiltfong put a CB in for PSU. Moves really well for his size. He's huge.

Same HS as Kwity Paye. Bishop Hendricken
