Any relation to Tony Jones Sr.?
Jones Jr. started at IMG on Thursday.
...
"It was a no-brainer,'' said Tony Jones Sr., a former fullback and linebacker with the Tampa Bay Storm. Now a personal trainer and aspiring coach, Jones Sr. said the facilities are as good as he's ever seen.
"I've given him what I can, but what they have here, I can't give him. This is too good of an opportunity to get him prepared for the next level. It's state of the art."
Invited to the army all american bowl
Will he break our streak with early-committing power backs from the South? We shall see!
Does Tony have more connections to the staff than the previous backs? I know that he has connections to DenbrockDoubtful. He feels eerily similar, let's hope I'm misreading.
Ok I'm calling bullshit... either there's like a million kids there, ND has all the 99th overall percentiles, or Nike's math is off.
I think they estimate those figures off all high school football players. So people like NDPhilly and Arrowryan drag the averages down because they're little nerds.
it says "of all nike football athletes tested in your class" Do they do these tests nationwide?
Yes it is every kid tested at EVERY Nike camp throughout the year and competes in the SPARQ testing.
So are these events for div. 1 type kids or is this that 300 pound rolly-polly in highschool who was a "lineman" we're talking about.

This is why I asked my question before... What was Folson's Score... Ronnie Stanley's score... Tuitt's score... give me something I can base these scores off of
Do they juice the 40 times at The Opening...or are these pretty realistic? I'm forgetting from past years. 4.68 doesn't really shock me based on his film.
For reference. The SPARQ test, developed by Nike, accounts for a player's weight (to normalize results), 40-yard dash time, 5-10-5 test, kneeling powerball toss, and vertical jump. SPARQ shows how quick athletes are for their size and speed, and it also measures explosiveness, power and agility. For reference, a score above 130 puts an athlete in an incredibly elite group:
Every year, Nike holds SPARQ Combines across America in various cities, inviting high school athletes to come out and "get tested". About 1,000-1,500 athletes visit these events per city, and the highest rated athletes attend a final combine in Beaverton, Oregon (deep in Nike territory). The highest SPARQ scores per year, after tens of thousands of athletes are measured, are in the 130 to 150 range. At some camps, only a handful of players score above 100.
