D was good enough. The jump ball to Boykin was overused tonight. Dexter was a difference maker. ND should've scored at least 40 in that D. 12-0, not always pretty, but take it and move on.

USC had some pretty good coverage on Boykin for a good portion of the game.

This is where I’m at. It would’ve been embarrassing to lose to a 5-6 team regardless of their talent & the rivalry but if you’re tired of hearing haters bring up the 2012 beatdown...let them get embarrassed again. ND has to at least compete to garner any national respect.

My cynical hunch tells me the media is going to play up the fact that ND is sitting at home while others are truly EARNING their way to the CFP. (Yes, I know Bama got in last year & tOSU did when they weren’t in a conf champ game). I think the media bias & that fact being discussed in the CFP comittee meeting will have them drop ND to #4.

The difference between ND and those OSU and Bama teams is ND is undefeated and those teams were not. I think it set a bad precedent to put those teams in but they are likely the best choices both years but now they can't very well say an undefeated ND can't get in because they didn't win their conference championship. They check all other data points.

This is quite a photo from the “Roaring 20s”. ND vs SC was a pretty big deal even in the same year where Babe & Lou helped comprise one of the greatest baseball teams of all time.

No matter what happens in the playoff, I'm just happy we get to be counted as one of the teams that has actually played in it. I didn't think we'd be good, so now I had a whole season of being happy and now I get a month more. We beat our rivals, had an undefeated regular season, and had a hell of a time doing it.

Get the team rested and Book back to 100% and I think we can hang with anyone not named Bama.

Book clearly hasn't been as sharp the last 2 weeks since the injury against Northwestern. Now he has over a month to heal up and hopefully the pinpoint accuracy comes right back. That's why we didn't beat Syracuse by 50 and USC by 20 tonight. Not real worried about it.

1. If we play like that in the playoffs we will get smoked by any potential opponent. Worst game since Pitt.
2. Defensive game plan was awful in the first half. I’ve watched a ton of USC games this year and the common thread in theirs Ls was an inability to consistently deal with presss coverage and blitzes. First half we did nothing but give 8 yard cushions and let JT Daniels make easy passes... literally the opposite of what you should do. We also routinely had a linebacker covering Amon Ra which is insane.
3. Worst game from Book all season. Missed tons of throws.
4. Special teams played extremely clean and if they hadn’t ND likely would’ve lost. So props to a much maligned unit for coming through.
5. 12-0 and that’s all that maters!!!

Honestly think Wimbush could have posted more points with a similar game plan to the FSU game.
Lea called a Diaco like game. That is not meant as a compliment.
ND runplay lacked imagination.
Tons of bad passes by Book especially in the first half.
Some below average tackling.
ND fans were louder and more into the game than the usc fans.
Couldn’t understand a few sections that were 100% empty.
I admire Kelly remaining cool in these games.
What happened to Jafar?
A good team wins when they don’t play their best and their opponent does. Even though usc only scored 17 points (gimme TD at the end of the game) they played one of their better games.
