If Healthcare is your #1 issue it could be you demand free shit or you want more free market but see it as a huge problem either way.

If Immigration is your #1 issue - you could think all illegals need deported yesterday or all your meat packing plant workers need work visas or all your cousins should chain migrate or anyone who asks should get citizenship or anchor babies are wrong or so on and so forth.

The instant assumption by pundits that one party owns any of these issues is just so tired and lazy.

I saw a MSNBC breakdown... everything was race. Republicans won in the South because the South is filled with racists. Where Democrats won it's due to caring loving people who don't want minorities swinging from trees populating those areas. They either have nothing left to go on or they have mind jobbed themselves into thinking that race is all there is to anything. It's also stunning how bigoted they can be openly while claiming to denounce bigotry.

wut... she was told clearly the guy was not a citizen. this is the kind of stuff that Legacy pretends doesn't happen. and it was clear by her response it happens frequently enough. Q Legacy to provide 20 links to distract from clear words and video.

and the people registering voters can't ensure shit when you don't need to prove citizenship. we've seen clear cases of illegals on jury selections (which come from voter registration) in a lot of places even though it's almost impossible to investigate the issue.

I kind of agree with RDU... kind of like taking a dealer off the street corner but doing nothing about the big money supplier.

The polls showed by ABC news had Healthcare as the number one priority by a wide margin. Let's hope the Senate and the House don't have a pissing contest.

One thing I heard on multiple broadcasts was with the House back under Dem control, they will start going after Trump (taxes, russia, etc.). Hope this isn't true. If they waste their time doing this instead of fixing things, they could find themselves losing seats again.

Healthcare #1 could be #1 = Repeal Obamacare or #1 = Universal Healthcare. Plenty of people high conviction in both directions!

Dems will investigate, not legislate. Does anyone doubt this at all? Really dumb move, IMO, by Dems. Great tactic to slow Trump's roll for two years but will not play well in 2020.

Can she prevent them from voting though if they are on the roll? That sounds much more like you need to go after those registering the voters rather than someone working the poll like RDU said.

There's two issues here.

1) Proof of citizenship is not required to register. Attempts to require proof of citizenship have been blocked time and time again by the left, ACLU, and lib judges.

2) Poll workers in a lot of places have a huge partisan issue. I've lived in two different places in Dekalb (huge Blue area in GA). In Stone Mountain, my precinct was staffed with all widely known vocal dems, and some of the shit going on there was crazy. I was even asked "are you going to be a good dem today" but the person checking IDs the first time I voted there....In another Dekalb precinct (more burbish), it was more mixed, and there was a semblance of non-partisanship. Don't make the mistake that poll workers are all fair an unbiased.

I thought it was required that at least one registered member of either party work each polling place... I know that's the law out here. Voter fraud is real though, I've seen it first hand as I have mentioned numerous times when this is brought up... The 2000 Baca campaign I worked on didn't even try to hide anything... it was very open and this was for a seat that everyone knew Baca was going to keep easily. Imagine contested seats.

Michigan citizens approves voting changes similar to seventeen other states.
-Protects the right to vote a secret ballot
-Ensures military service members and overseas voters can obtain ballots
-Provides Michigan residents with the option to vote straight party
-Automatically registers citizens to vote at the Secretary of State’s Office unless the citizen declines
-Allows a citizen to register to vote anytime with proof of residency
-Provides all registered voters access to an absentee ballot for any reason
-Ensures the accuracy and integrity of elections by auditing election results

Maryland citizens overwhelming also passed voter registration on election day. Nevada citizens also passed automatic voter registration. Florida restores voting rights to over 1 million felons.

How can you do anything to the big supplier, when people refuse to believe that there's any people buying from dealers in the first place. And how can you do anything to the supplier when laws make it easy for the supplier to obtain product?

Ignoring the street dealer only perpetuates and strengthens the narrative that it doesn't happen at all.

Process trumps people. If you aren't vetting the registrations how the hell are you supposed to vet them live at the polls? Don't ask, don't tell citizenship games on so many levels of government are eroding our system bigly. I too have witnessed plenty of voter fraud - it is a big problem that pisses me off. Should not be that hard to figure out. Show ID and vet citizenship/voting eligibility with those IDs.

I'm sure there is that rule. I can tell you though, even with that, there are issues. My x-wife, who was an African American registered Dem, worked the polls. I went to the "after party" with the workers. I can tell you for sure that I was the only right leaning person there (I am officially an Ind). And how hard is it for a person that is a Dem to register GOP?

Right, I get that, and I agree with you on that stance. There should be proof of citizenship to register to vote. In favor of that all day. However, again, can someone working the poll prevent someone from voting if they are on the roll? If they are on there, you gotta let them vote right? Even if they are on there wrongly (illegally). Now, if you could find a way to flag that name on the roll and maybe dispute that vote/investigate it, that would help as well.

It's obvious to me. A poll worker's primary responsibility is to support the "fair and accurate" voting process. Those are the words you will see on most voter worker sites. If a poll worker is aware of something unfair, or inaccurate, it is their responsibility to speak up. Poll workers are also obligated to report individuals who campaign (hold signs, pass out literature) within xxx feet of a polling place. I'd assume they would be obligated to report anyone that is obviously purporting a fraud that threatens the fairness and accuracy of the election.

Something for everyone.

First, voting is a habit. Lots of first time voters. Millennials? We'll have to wait for the figures and breakdown of approval/disapproval of the President.

Second, Senate and House breakdown and their impact have been discussed.

Third, Medicaid expansion in three red states by ballot (Utah, Idaho, Nebraska). Montana votes not to renew. Health insurance companies will have to assess rates.

Fourth, Alabama joins Utah and Missouri in protecting the rights of the unborn. No impact yet, but if Roe v Wade is overturned. Then, the impact would be in one person's words "..would allow the state to prosecute women for using IUDs, emergency contraception, and IVF or even for missing prenatal care appointments or not being able to leave an abusive partner." We'll see. Oregon rejects similar measure preserving right to choose.

Fifth, big upset in Kansas where in red, red state, Kris Kobach proponent of voter fraud and ally of Sam Brownback, who put Kansas in huge financial hole, elects a Democrat Governor. Hispanic turnout in Dodge City, with one polling place, picks up after shift ends at meat packing plant.

Six, we'll have to wait for final numbers for minority vote turnout. Voting is a habit.

Seventh, Louisiana and Colorado voters eliminate Jim Crow and racist parts in their constitutions.

Seventh, two Muslim women, at least one Indian women, two openly gay candidates.

Eighth, Prop 112 restricting expansion of increased setbacks for oil and gas exploration from homes and schools. Colorado voters also reject ballot measures that would fund education and transportation.

Ninth, independent commissions for redistricting passed in a number of states.

Tenth, promises by Reps and Trump to preserve pre-existing conditions. Will they follow through and swiftly pass this?

Eleventh, will there be a commitment from both parties to cooperate on bills for the good of the country?

Twelfth, suburban well-educated voters. Did they turn out and how did they vote?

Thirteenth, record number of women? How will that impact legislation?

Fourteenth, three Catholic Senators go down.

Fifteenth, Pennsylvania elect three female Dem candidates and Dems win statewide. Minn, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania all elect Democrat Governors. Dems gain three seats in House after redistricting.

Sixteenth, two former refugees elected.

Seventh, big night for Dems in Governor races.

More??

Nope you pretty much summed it up- used plenty of physical adjectives to describe and identify people and further prove that you and your ilk are 100% committed to identity politics.

Yup, really enjoyed his comments and stereotype spin above, and previously, about educated white suburbanites being anti Trump..... The educated suburban whites certainly didn't help the dems on the North side of Indy.... That was an embarrassing loss to someone who was very popular and moderate. The polls were trash. And Trump was clearly on the ballot, and swung that race bigly for Braun. The inference that only uneducated vote for Trump is pretty telling/obvious... But we really didn't need that to know who Legacy is, do we....

So that is what the 90 minute press conference was all about - Acosta is such a petulant knob. That press corp sure thinks highly of itself.

had the PC on in the background. it was actually pretty decent. a few were a bit unruly, but Acosta was absolutely the worst behaved. i don't mind hard, biased, or even idiotic questions from the media. I expect all that in today's world. i just hate when they act like f'ing 2 year old children. he is past the novelty phase, and is making CNN look really bad.

Georgia Results say that it's 100% counted as of 2:20 pm.
Kemp is at 50.35%, so it appears that there will be no runoff for Abrams for the time being.

https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/GA/91639/Web02-state.216038/#/

local stuff here says that the absentee and other ballots have yet to be counted, and could bring Kemp under the 50% requirement (requiring a run off). they said it will likely be next tuesdayish before we know.

not saying the above is correct, but that is what was said about an hour ago.

Acosta had the mic for about a minute and a half, had asked multiple questions, and numerous others had their hands up. Yet Acosta felt the need to resist the lady trying to move the mic to the next reporter and pushes her arm down somewhat on the inside of the elbow. Does he really think he gets to ask however many questions he wants and doesn't have to let the other reporters attempt to do their jobs as well?

One of the things I love about Trump is he has a way of getting people to reveal who they have always been. There is no more self righteous, obnoxious, and odious profession than that of "journalist" who despite their whining to the otherwise are historically just mouthpieces for the regime and lapdogs for the people in power. Journalists have always been annoying, pompous douchebags, it just took a president who had the balls to call them on it for the rest of the people to catch on to this.

Of course, there are exceptions and there are some really good journalists who really do care about the truth and bring honor to their profession. I think someone like Justin Raimondo as a pretty good journalist who is usually fair and level headed in his analysis.

If there was an award for whiniest, most self entitled douche bag.... Acosta would win unopposed. I know I shouldn't be, but I'm still surprised that CNN puts up with the optics. If they aren't concerned with him simply looking like a douche, I would think they would hate that he constantly gets owned by Sanders and Trump.

Yeah, honestly guys, that's way worse optics for Trump than Acosta. There are about a hundred different ways he could've handled that better. At worst, he should've Bill Belichicked him if he thought he was hogging the mic and asking bad questions.

disagree. in short, i think trump's base will eat it up, the orange man bad folks will cheer acosta like they cheer mad maxine and people harassing politicians, and the moderates and independents will mostly think whiny unhinged self entitled. the pulling of the mic twice from the girl looks much worse than trump telling acosta he's a turd and to sit down.
