Lumpia, carne asada fries and Cali IPA or prepare for a fight....

Might want to leave that Cali IPA at home when you're meeting your new neighbors. Lot's of folks wearing these now.

Looks like Republicans will end up with 54/55 in Senate.

House will go to Dems by a healthy margin.

my only big want for the night is that Abrams lose in GA. Not a Kemp fan, but Abrams is crazy left.

After all the money the dems dumped here, and all the star power (Oprah, Obummer, JZ, ++++), it would be nice to crush some spirit...

She's not conceding because about 75K votes are yet to be counted. If you add those to her totals she would win, but she would pretty much have to garner every vote not counted. That's not going to happen. Heard on TV last night.......they might have expected her to lose, as they already have a plan in place to file suit and force a runoff.

Interesting dynamic with the Dems taking the house back. Does that mean the presidential election was a clear vote of NO against HRC?

Last projections heading into election night had Democrats to get 50 seats in Senate and 234 in House.

Final tally, if all razor thin margins hold, has Democrats at 45 seats in Senate and 228 in House. So they under performed the polls, again. House was within an acceptable margin and they still won... but the Senate was a disaster for them. Every anti-Kav voter in a key state lost, and no one had the Republicans getting up to 54 or 55. Like I said weeks ago, the way they went after Kavanagh might go down as one of the biggest political blunders of all time.

The R’s needed to do much better in the house. CBS was predicting 27/28 seats for the dems and they ended up with 34. Ideas that this is not uncommon for this to happen but they needed to do better.

I'm surprised Donnelly got rolled by Braun. The polls had Braun with a very slight margin until about a week ago when it showed Donnelly had taken the lead. Braun won by 10%. Not sure who was doing the polling, but they should probably find a new job. lol

GOP beat down the anti-Kav red state senators. Really all I cared about.

Four Senate incumbent defeats for the non-presidential party in a midterm would be the highest number since eight Republican incumbents lost in 1934.

I saw that video. That woman should be prosecuted to the fullest extent. That sure looks bad.

I don't like the idea of prosecuting poll workers extensively. They should be able to work the voter rolls without feeling obligated to vet beyond the person saying who they say they are.

Now the people responsible for registering the voters need to make sure they are eligible to vote. Clean up the voter rolls first and foremost, IMO.

When someone straight up says the guy isn't a citizen and you tell them he can vote anyway, that needs to be handled in a big and bad way.

Depressed about Walker losing Wisconsin - particularly b/c the opponent is essentially a teacher union shill. Walker has been a tremendous public servant - wish him nothing but the best.

Was hopeful for Heller in NV but if Tester and Sinema can go down it will be a sweet finish. Not sure how McSalley is not running away with that race as much b/c her opponent is a flake as anything.

Tons of lessons for Ds and Rs, IMO. 1) Americans want conservative judges and don't appreciate partisan hijacking of SCOTUS nomination process. 2) immigration is a more nuanced topic than just building a wall. 3) Actual candidates matter - good folks can contest areas you may not expect them to be competitive. 4) Money is no longer God.

She is focusing on the registration "if registered then yes"- go after registration and clean up the voter rolls. The fact is - who comes up asking that Q if not an investigative journalist? 99.9% are going to register and vote without bringing it up. That poll worker is not the problem, the problem is a system that makes it easy for inelligible voters to be registered. Once that happens, don't ask don't tell will be the default.

But voter fraud never happens so it is a mute point.

If Healthcare is your #1 issue it could be you demand free shit or you want more free market but see it as a huge problem either way.

If Immigration is your #1 issue - you could think all illegals need deported yesterday or all your meat packing plant workers need work visas or all your cousins should chain migrate or anyone who asks should get citizenship or anchor babies are wrong or so on and so forth.

The instant assumption by pundits that one party owns any of these issues is just so tired and lazy.

Something for everyone.

First, voting is a habit. Lots of first time voters. Millennials? We'll have to wait for the figures and breakdown of approval/disapproval of the President.

Second, Senate and House breakdown and their impact have been discussed.

Third, Medicaid expansion in three red states by ballot (Utah, Idaho, Nebraska). Montana votes not to renew. Health insurance companies will have to assess rates.

Fourth, Alabama joins Utah and Missouri in protecting the rights of the unborn. No impact yet, but if Roe v Wade is overturned. Then, the impact would be in one person's words "..would allow the state to prosecute women for using IUDs, emergency contraception, and IVF or even for missing prenatal care appointments or not being able to leave an abusive partner." We'll see. Oregon rejects similar measure preserving right to choose.

Fifth, big upset in Kansas where in red, red state, Kris Kobach proponent of voter fraud and ally of Sam Brownback, who put Kansas in huge financial hole, elects a Democrat Governor. Hispanic turnout in Dodge City, with one polling place, picks up after shift ends at meat packing plant.

Six, we'll have to wait for final numbers for minority vote turnout. Voting is a habit.

Seventh, Louisiana and Colorado voters eliminate Jim Crow and racist parts in their constitutions.

Seventh, two Muslim women, at least one Indian women, two openly gay candidates.

Eighth, Prop 112 restricting expansion of increased setbacks for oil and gas exploration from homes and schools. Colorado voters also reject ballot measures that would fund education and transportation.

Ninth, independent commissions for redistricting passed in a number of states.

Tenth, promises by Reps and Trump to preserve pre-existing conditions. Will they follow through and swiftly pass this?

Eleventh, will there be a commitment from both parties to cooperate on bills for the good of the country?

Twelfth, suburban well-educated voters. Did they turn out and how did they vote?

Thirteenth, record number of women? How will that impact legislation?

Fourteenth, three Catholic Senators go down.

Fifteenth, Pennsylvania elect three female Dem candidates and Dems win statewide. Minn, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania all elect Democrat Governors. Dems gain three seats in House after redistricting.

Sixteenth, two former refugees elected.

Seventh, big night for Dems in Governor races.

More??

Good article in the New York Times on the struggles of soybean farmers in North Dakota with decisions on what to plant for next year after generating markets overseas. The Farm Bill has not passed Congress yet.

Assuming that Scott holds onto Florida after the recount, it will be the first time in over 100 years that both Senators representing Florida will be Republican.

wut... she was told clearly the guy was not a citizen. this is the kind of stuff that Legacy pretends doesn't happen. and it was clear by her response it happens frequently enough. Q Legacy to provide 20 links to distract from clear words and video.

and the people registering voters can't ensure shit when you don't need to prove citizenship. we've seen clear cases of illegals on jury selections (which come from voter registration) in a lot of places even though it's almost impossible to investigate the issue.

The polls showed by ABC news had Healthcare as the number one priority by a wide margin. Let's hope the Senate and the House don't have a pissing contest.

One thing I heard on multiple broadcasts was with the House back under Dem control, they will start going after Trump (taxes, russia, etc.). Hope this isn't true. If they waste their time doing this instead of fixing things, they could find themselves losing seats again.

Can she prevent them from voting though if they are on the roll? That sounds much more like you need to go after those registering the voters rather than someone working the poll like RDU said.

I thought Braun would win, but only by a point or two. 2 Trump visits with Bobby and Lou later, and boom 10% lol....

I think that IN's disgust with the far left finally came to a head, and Donnelly was its casualty. Donnelly is a good guy, but to Hoosiers, sending a message to the crazy left was more important. My mother liked Donnelly (just like I did), but thought giving any help whatsoever to the left at this time is counter productive. I think the Kav thing alone was worth a 5pt swing.
