It probably had more to do with the fact that you were wearing a George Micheal shirt and vagina hat and playing a robust game of pocket pool while cat-calling all the fatties as they walked by than you being from cali.

I figured it was more about the kilt, Scottish accent, and him constantly saying "ask me about my bagpipe " to every passerby.

I was at a bar outside Columbia Missouri summer of 2000 ( I was working on the team rebuilding the football stadium)... and met a nice group of people, it was like two couples and an another friend. We are chating it up, having a great time. One of the guys asks me where I'm from. I say California, they assume the city in Missouri... I realize this about a minute later and clarify, "No California state, I'm from Los Angeles..."... conversation needed right there, they all got up and moved to another part of the bar, not another word was spoken... true story.

TX don't F around when it comes to the Cali or NY way of life. I used to do frequent business in TX, and there were folks we'd take, and those we left back in ATL, or New Jersey / NY.

I have 8 pair of Luccheses, so damn sure I was always there.

One challenged ballot that was reviewed and accepted was the decisive vote for an Alaska state House seat and with that victory the Reps have a majority in the Alaska House. The challenged ballot was made by a former felon, whom it was determined, had completed his probation. The last ballot was then unsealed and his vote was for the Republican candidate.

Challenged ballot gives Republican a 1-vote victory in key Alaska House race (Anchorage Daily News)

Some people are sitting at home saying they should have voted.

In a U.S. House race in North Carolina, there may be voter fraud and irregularities possibly including the primary.
Certification in limbo in N.C. House race as fraud investigation continues

Since I have shared Mia Love's story and her midterm re-election campaign in the past...

REPUBLICAN MIA LOVE SAYS DONALD TRUMP HAS 'NO REAL RELATIONSHIPS, JUST CONVENIENT TRANSACTIONS'

During her concession speech to her Democratic opponent on Monday, Republican Representative Mia Love of Utah slammed President Donald Trump and his past criticism of her, saying that the president had "no real relationships, just convenient transactions."

Love’s remarks came during her official concession speech to Democratic opponent and Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams. The pair's race for Utah’s 4th Congressional District had resulted in a razor-thin margin of less than 700 votes last week after mail-in and provisional ballots continued to be counted weeks after the election. Love officially conceded in a call to McAdams over the weekend.

In an extraordinary press conference the day after Election Day, Trump blasted Love and other Republicans who distanced themselves from him and were defeated. At the time of Trump’s remarks, Love’s race had not yet been decided.

“Mia Love gave me no love,” Trump told reporters. “And she lost. Too bad. Sorry about that, Mia.”

During her concession speech on Monday, which was planned and was not impromptu, Love publicly responded to the president’s criticism for the first time.

“The President's behavior towards me made me wonder: What did he have to gain by saying such a thing about a fellow Republican," Love said. "It was not really about asking him to do more, was it? Or was it something else?”

Love said that she and the president would have to “chat about that” in the future.

"However, this gave me a clear vision of [Trump’s] world as it is,” Love said. “No real relationships, just convenient transactions. That is an insufficient way to implement sincere service and policy."

Further in the article she calls her opponent, Ben McAdams, a "sheep in wolf's clothing" and the media for writing “uneducated, unfair, irresponsible stories” in which her “ethics” and her “record” were “lied about, tarnished, and repeated over and over again on TV right in front of our children.”

In the annual Republican Governors conference, among Govs criticizing Trump, Utah Governor Gary Herbert called out Trump on his treatment of Mia Love, who spoke at the Rep Convention in 2012. They also wanted the Party to emphasize the accomplishments of the Party and what they stand for in a positive manner.

“I think it was just bad to throw her under the bus." "She’s the first African-American woman Republican elected to Congress in American history, and we’re proud of that. And she was doing some good things.”
“There’s no need to be petty about it, and that’s part of the challenge we have with this administration. Sometimes they seem to have a tit-for-tat and are petty.”

GOP governors call out Trump after midterm drubbing

Yawn...
While the dems did everything to kick her during the campaign, they now want to play the misogynist and racist cards when someone else criticizes her.

She should join HRC on the Million Excuse tour.

Nothing says lib speak like Newsweek and Politico... Couldn't find any articles from NYT and WAPO? lol

I decided not to post the article on Love's criticisms from Fox because it did not contain her criticisms of the media - almost entirely on her remarks on Trump. The Fox article also said:
Love said Monday she was “proud” she “nagged the president every day” to secure the release of Holt.

She also chastised Washington lawmakers – especially Republicans – for not taking minorities into their “homes and hearts.”

“I’ve seen the cost to conservatives for not truly taking people into their hearts. Democrats saw newly elected black members and women to Congress in this election. This is a matter of fact that Republicans lost in this regard,” Love said.

A record number of women were elected to the House in this year's midterm elections, the majority Democrats.

Love also attacked the media and McAdams in her speech, calling the Democrat “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.” When asked if she would consider running again in 2020, Love said she wasn’t sure.

“I’m not going away, but now I am unleashed, I am untethered and I am unshackled, and I can say exactly what’s on my mind,” Love said.

Also an opinion piece in the Chicago Tribune referring to Love and Reps and minorities, echoing Love's remarks:

Column: A black Republican dream deferred — again

Trump called out Love and several other Republicans who had lost their political bids after failing to accept his invitation to be invited to come out and give what he called his public “embrace” in their campaigns.

Now that she had lost re-election, she said in her concession speech in Salt Lake City, she is free to speak her mind and she did, particularly about Trump."The president's behavior toward me made me wonder: What did he have to gain by saying such a thing about a fellow Republican," Love questioned. "It was not really about asking him to do more, was it? Or was it something else? Well, Mr. President, we'll have to chat about that."

Actually, Trump had little to gain from his personal attacks except a little self-prescribed therapy after the drubbing his party took in losing control of the House. When Trump is confronted by stress-inducing realities, he sometimes stages surly and combative exchanges with reporters, if only to entertain his conservative base.

Love was not loving any of that.

"However, this gave me a clear vision of his world as it is,” she continued. “No real relationships, just convenient transactions. That is an insufficient way to implement sincere service and policy."

That’s the basis of the Grand Old Party’s problem with minority voters, she said; “It's transactional, it's not personal."

"You see, we feel like politicians claim they know what's best for us from a safe distance, yet they're never willing to take us home,” she said, “… and into their hearts, they stay with Democrats and bureaucrats in Washington because they do take them home — or at least make them feel like they have a home."

With that, she was describing an ideal of politics at its best: a process that responds to the voters’ needs in a way that makes all feel their voices are being heard.

Yet I wonder: Why did it take her so long to make her feelings known about Trump after voting with his agenda almost 96 percent of the time, according to an analysis by the web site FiveThirtyEight?

I am not alone.

“She (Love) was silent for the most part during her entire time in the House,” Howard University political scientist Michael Fauntroy, author of “Republicans and the Black Vote,” told me after Love’s speech. “Now she wants to talk about decorum and all these kind of things, it just doesn’t sound impressive coming after the fact.”

Fauntroy sounded pessimistic about any growth in black Republican ranks as long as the party continues its Trumpian swing to the far right.

Trump will undoubtedly ignore any criticisms or suggestions for change by the Republican Governors group.

Lots of articles on this in papers throughout the country. Google them

yawn again.

if she were a dem, and lost to a white guy, they'd be attacking the white guy and screaming all kinds of things.

if she was a white man with the same views and lost, it would be about how a dem defeated an old white monster that was anti abortion, pro gun, and anti gay marriage. it's funny how she's been embraced when she stands for everything the left hates, except for one thing,,,, her dislike for Trump...

the MSM and left are just looking to use her in anyway they can to criticize Trump. It's that simple.

Ballot harvesting bounty: How Dems apparently used election law change to rout California Republicans
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ba...ion-law-change-to-rout-california-republicans

Sounds like Cali GOP needs to start "harvesting" as well.

“People were carrying in stacks of 100 and 200 of them. We had had multiple people calling to ask if these people were allowed to do this,” Kelley said.

Two years ago, California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law AB1921, which legalized the so-called practice of “ballot harvesting.” Previously, only a family member or someone living in the same household was permitted to drop off mail ballots for a voter, but the new allowed anyone – including political operatives – to collect and return them for a voter.

We finally got a case of voter fraud and for some reason the Conservatives on here aren’t discussing it.

The whole harvesting thing...man..it doesn't smell good.

For the record, I don't believe in electronic voting, absentee(except military) voting, mail voting, etc. I think that likely sounds paranoid to most folks but to me, it seems like the most secure way of doing things.

North Carolina apparently ran into a similar thing. We will see what comes of it. I'm sure if it's worth pursuing, FOX at the very least will run with it.

It's the left side that tries to turn everything into an "end of the world" scenario.

Martha McSally, who lost the midterm election in Arizona to Kyrsten Sinema, has been appointed by Gov. Ducey to serve the remaining term of John McCain. Seems weird that at least half a Senator's term will be served by someone unelected and dependent on the party in the Governor's office.
