Help Wanted: 2018 instant-impacts CB's.

If you have coverage skills that translate to the college game, even though you'll only be a true freshman, we want YOU!

Who's it gonna be?

Lyght said he wanted to get back to Houston a nice combo would be Anthony Cook and Jalen Green.

Looking at the 2018 Class does any have thoughts on how many 5 year seniors we keep and are we recruiting 25 or will it be a smaller class.

Should be a small class.

8 - Lost to eligibility
1 - NFL 99% probability = Q Nelson
1 - 100% not coming back under scholarship = MVG
1 - 75% grad transfer = Jimmy Bryne
4 - Could grad transfer = Nic Wieshar, J. Bonner, J. Hayes, P. Mokwuah

I'm assuming A. Bars, S. Mustipher & T. Newsome will be back for 5th.

Even with the possibility of ESB or AJ going to the NFL and the 2-3 other avg yearly casualties for any number of reasons, I don't the class gets over 20.

That's fine. Get an experienced team in for 2018 with only a few elite talents getting to play as freshmen.

I agree, ND's on the Stanford model by accident this cycle but...

This is a good cycle to have scholarships to give if you're ND.

Should've been on an augmented Stanford model since the 2011 & 2012 classes imploded. The staff has (mostly) not been putting in the effort in recruiting.

BK said during his NSD presser that they're "going to go outside of the profile" to recruit this class on offense. They want elite speed coming in, regardless of size.

I didn't think they really had a "profile" for offensive recruits. They've kind of recruited all over the board the last few years.

Perhaps they mean "no more jumbo receivers."

Ok thanks. I agree with AJ expecting him to have a big year could be the number 1 tight end coming out.

Thats interesting.

Appears to be the exact opposite directon from what Urban is doing.

Can't you just drop off 2-3 bags at Kamryn Babb's crib when you're in town for a Cards game? I think Jahan is too far down the aisle with other programs and more importantly our Jersey affiliates don't have your disposable income.

Well I would if 1. I have the sort of disposable income that you seem to think I have and 2. I were going to St Louis this year. Looks like it's up to somebody else.

Come on now... I ain't ever heard you talkin' about Natural Light over in the beer thread. Me thinks you have plenty of DI by your craft beer buying practices, that or you're just faster than all the liquor store clerks in Austin.

Nah it's just cheap. When I go to Live Oak, the beer is normally free. The HEB near me has plenty of singles that I can get for less than $2/bottle. And I have some friends that have different stuff, so we share. You can drink well for cheap down here.

I remember you saying if I was in town you'd buy me a beer at Live Oak. I see now that was truly an #AlternativeFact. lol

Why does this make me feel like well hang on to big fish too long and be left scrambling at end.

Yeah, IDK if getting big receivers is the new thing, or if it's a matter of "if he doesn't have homerun speed, then bigger is better" for Urban.

BK has always recruited the receiver position pretty consistently. In a "full" WR class, he'll grab one burner, one tweener, and one big guy. Seems reasonable. You can put a burner on the outside or in the slot depending on need, and the jumbo receiver obviously sticks on the outside. You hit your needs for a well-rounded WR corps while maintaining some flexibility.

The last two classes kind of loaded up on the "jumbo" guys though, especially with Guyton leaving early, so perhaps that's where BK's emphasis on speed-over-profile is coming from right now.

I'd take three midgets if they can run the 40 in 4.2 or 4.3.

Difference is all 6 of the 2018 class were committed before Josh Lugg committed in the 2017 cyle. Lugg was commit #3 in 2017.

Agree with this. Any info or thoughts on the date for the next Junior Day (obviously after this weekend)?
