Duke Coach Rejects Michigan

Maybe Cutcliffe is willing to wait until BK leaves

Cutcliffe isn't leaving to go anywhere. He's one of the few loyal coaches left. He got fired by Ole Miss because the AD gave him an ultimatum. He was told to fire some assistants after a 4-7 year (his first losing season in 6 years), and he refused to do so which cost him his job. Between that (and his age), he's not going anywhere IMO.

I do agree that at some point in a coaches life you have to settle in to a place and plant roots. If it were me at 60 I wouldn't want to keep moving around the country fixing programs, no matter how much money (he's still making good money at Duke I'm sure). It does make you wonder what coach Michigan will be able to get.

Although he is a good coach, it did seem odd to have him be the first coach to turn them down. I thought/think they would have offered it to a bigger name first.
