Five teams in the Top 25 rankings lost. Three of those losing teams played another ranked team. All lost to the higher ranked team. Only West Virginia (to Okla St) and BC (to FSU) lost to unranked teams. BC and Cincy may be the only teams who fall out of the Top 25.

Rooting for Michigan to lose to Ohio State, who loses to Northwestern in the Championship.

Today on Sportscenter they had John Vilma and Paul Finebaum rank their top six just based on record and schedule. They both ranked ND #1 saying they are only one who beat potentially 3 division winners.

Nice to see the talking heads bash Bama and Clemson's soft schedule too

Finebaum talks out of both sides of his mouth. Nothing he says is of value.

So I think 12-1 Michigan deserves to be #4 over 12-1 Oklahoma, but it will be interesting since they’d beat Texas in a rematch in the conf champ game. Unusual profile if they avenge their close neutral site loss with a neural site win to end the season. Maybe Michigan is clearly ahead of OU, but could very well come down to style points the next two weeks.

FWIW, I'd take Michigan to beat Oklahoma. Defense > Offense. (and Michigan at least does have an offense)
OU still has to go win at WVU Friday night too. I don't think that's a gimme at all.

this coming Tuesday...

ND should be #2
Clemson #3

scUM should drop for looking weak against IU.
UGA and LSU should drop because they played no one
OK should drop because KS hung with them
WSU should move up if they keep doing what they are doing
WVU gone
OSU gone (until ESPN starts talking about how they should be #4 if they beat scUM)
UCF should be right behind WSU and ahead of a bunch of the weak asses above.

of course nothing of the sort will happen

ESPN is doing it already this morning. Finebaum said he’d put OSU over OU because they beat a better team in UM. Big Ten is awful this year. I don’t get how ppl see those two teams as playoff caliber.

I think Michigan would stand a better chance against Bama than Oklahoma. I think they both lose. Michigan did appear to have several key injuries last night. I am not sure if those injured were vital. One thing about Oklahoma is that their offense is explosive. They have weapons. Their defense is not very good. I think Michigan is a little more balanced on both sides.

Yup. If the playoff were today, there would be three undefeated teams and a one loss team. The only team to have beaten another playoff team would be us.

I’d take pretty much anyone with even the slightest defense to beat Oklahoma. Their defense is horrible.

$$$$ for the talking heads and delusion for the fanbases. It’s the only thing I can think of.

I'd rank us over Clemson, whose record includes two early season close wins - A&M by 2, Syracuse by 4. Total body of work. Saturday, everyone witnessed an Orange Crush. A team that averaged over 40 ppg didn't cross our 40 until later in the 4th quarter.

don't get me wrong, PF is a total SEC and Bama homer, but he's not as super-fan-blind as people make him out to be. he sits on the fence a lot (so yes you can say he talks out of both sides of his mouth), but he typically doesn't dismiss fact/data like a lot of other media trolls.

Torn here. I'd think it would be easier to completely shut down scUM's O, then OK's O. scUM might slow Bama's O a bit, but Bama has played some very good Ds. scUM hasn't played really and good balanced Os. OK would at least put points on the board vs Bama. They'd give up a bunch. Neither team IMO would give Bama a game. I'd see Bama/scUM something like 35-0, and Bama/OK like 56-31.

Yup. Big12 is likely going to knock itself out, and WashSt could easily get beat in the next two weeks (Wash and Utah). Bama should beat UGA. That leaves OSU/scUM and UCF lol. I'd prefer UCF to get in vs OSU. I'd love to see WashSt get in but those two game in front of them won't be easy.

Michigan would murder Oklahoma. Every team in the top 10 except Ohio State would murder Oklahoma. F*cking Kansas scored 40 (!!!!) on them... they are garbage. Their defense isn't even in the top 75 by S&P+.

Oklahoma is a joke. Zero defense. That being said, I think OK's offense could move the ball on Alabama, I think Michigan's offense would get shut down against them. I would foresee a LSU/Miss St type game if Alabama played Michigan.

While Alabama would still win, I would foresee a bit of a shoot out if Oklahoma played Alabama.

This is a pretty good comparison. However, I think Michigan's defense would actually (yak) do better than (barf) LSU's. Their offense would also likely have more production (gross), but not by much.

Oklahoma would definitely put up the most points on Alabama if they were on their current schedule.

The score would be 121-35... Alabama.

Oklahoma would have a Citadel-type celebration after the game.

Eliminator

Number. Team - Sagarin SOS - ESPN SOS - Aggregate - ESPN SOR
UNDEFEATED
1. Notre Dame - 47 - 48 - 47.5 - 1
2. Clemson - 49 - 49 - 49.0 - 2
3. Alabama - 61 - 59 - 60.0 - 3
1-LOSS
4. Georgia - 38 - 29 - 33.5 - 4
5. Michigan - 40 - 32 - 36.0 - 5
6. Oklahoma - 43 - 47 - 45.0 - 8
7. Ohio State - 53 - 57 - 55.0 - 7
8. Washington St - 60 - 61 - 60.5 - 9

Extra Tidbit - Scoring Margin
1. Alabama +35.9
2. Clemson +31.8
3. Michigan +23.1
4. Georgia +20.6
5. Oklahoma +18.8
6. Notre Dame +17.4
7. Ohio State +17.0
8. Wash St +16.1

ND has now moved ahead of Clemson and Bama in the SOS and SOR. Bama took a big hit in SOS for playing The Citadel. Oh and by the way, Alabama beat The Citadel by the same margin (33) as Notre Dame beat Syracuse. That should be talked about. Tua Tagovailoa played in the 4th quarter against The Citadel. Anyway, ND should be moved up the rankings but the cement dried on the Clemson and Bama rankings and the committee doesn't have the hard hats to move them for a week before moving them back after the conference championships. Also, clearly ESPN looks at scoring margin every sunday because the talk about who is playing the best football is all about the teams that are "dominating" which means BK should get the message and run the scores up in 2019 when he has a team beat. For this year, just win baby.

I think ND has done what was needed up to this point to stay at the #3 seed. A strong showing this coming weekend should cement that. I was fully expecting the committee to push Michigan ahead of Notre Dame but I just can't see that happening now... especially with this past week's performance by the Irish.

It was never happening...The big question now is should the Irish jump Clemson? The argument can be made.

Indiana should have kept that game close and they didn't get any help whatsoever from some questionable calls by the officials. I just watched the game and UM was outplayed the entire first half only to get bailed out in the 2nd. We get hosed regularly with holding calls not being there. Indiana was held 75% of the game O and D.

I'd rather be #3 just so Clemson has no extra motivation.

LOL. The CFP semifinals and you think that at #3 they would be extra motivated? So if we are #3, are we extra motivated? Who is #2 or #3 in that scenario is not going to impact anyone's motivation.

They've been in the playoffs the last three years and have played Bama every time. Everyone is pumping up Bama-Clemson again. I'd rather have them coming in at #2 than coming in at #3 and feeling "disrespected."

Disagree

But I'll gladly take #2 if SCar or Pitt beats them.

We need to learn more about our enemy. Not all of us understand the mindset of a Bishop, TTT. But looks like they've been preparing out of boredom alone.

Only thing I find to be outstanding. This guy came from my area and his way isn't that far off from many men in my area. He's smarter then ya plan for but overlooked when talking about his heritage.

Going by the AP and Coaches rankings, Clemson has had one win - Syracuse by 4 points - in the Top 25. Notre Dame has had four wins over Top 25 teams - #4 Michigan, #19 Syracuse, Northwestern and Pitt. The Irish's win over Syracuse was by 33. The three other than Syracuse will each play for their conference's championship.

And yet we haven't played anyone according to the talking heads and scUM fans who think it's ludicrous for ND to be ranked ahead of them with our schedule and we didn't crush our opponents earlier in the season. How ya like us now, scUM? Indiana was their Pitt game. Except Pitt is actually decent.

Gotta really tip the hat to ND in the way they silenced the critics. Getting stronger, better, and leaving no doubt in the past games has squashed all the scUM and other boo birds. Short of a huge melt down next week, the door has closed on the speculation.

Go Buckeyes.

...and to Cuse, Northwestern and Pitt for saving ND's SOS because Stanford, VT, FSU & SC couldn't hold their mud.
