No one has been able to throw over the top of Michigan's defense. Going deep over the top isn't really OSU's bag in terms of passing game either. They get the ball out quick and do a lot of short passes and get YAC. Which is why Haskins could throw 75 times vs Purdue and not put up huge #'s or TD's. OSU's pass game really plays into Michigan's hands on defense.

Ohio State's defense is basically a hot pile of trash and they are struggling to run the football. Their defense has given up more plays of 30 or more yards than every single team in the FBS with the exception of Kent State and UConn. They hadn't been able to run the ball in weeks. They ran pretty well vs Nebraska, but Nebraska's run defense is 92nd in the S&P+ run defense ratings. Not sure you can take away much from that. They also struggled mightily with Nebraska at home, barely beat them 36-31. Nebraska sucks. A lot. Ohio State should've wiped them off the field. They couldn't because their defense truly is terrible.

The only reason I think it'll be a very close game is because it's in Columbus. If it was in Ann Arbor, I think the line would be Michigan by 14.

Lol we threw over the top on you whenever we wanted. Damn I wish Kelly didn’t go conservative in the second half because he knew Michigan couldn’t score.

like i said above, the NW factor is the best thing we have going for us IMO.

and like i also said, i don't like it, it just is what it is. no use spitting in the wind.

And to spin the fact that the refs refused to flag NW, I add the fact that despite NW playing a virtual perfect game w/ zero turnovers & zero penalties, ND controlled the game throughout & still beat them by double digits.

If scUM beats OSU, I hope NW beats them the second time around...although I doubt it.

See, I don't see that happening and I would be outraged personally. If we go undefeated and won a head to head against them, but they jump ahead and get an easier path to the 'ship, that's BS. Why did they even play the game in the regular season then?

Who exactly has Michigan beaten? MSU (joke), Wisconsin (joke), Penn St (okay), and OSU (good team, not "great" by their standards).

ND: Stanford (okay, top 10 at the time, equates to Wisconsin), VT (joke, but road win, equals Sparty win), NW (common opponent, wider margin of victory, never trailed), Syracuse (potentially a top 10 win, not the same quality as OSU, but solid W), Oh, and scUM (Gave up one offensive TD, outcome never in doubt, used our now backup QB to gain victory, best offensive player was suspended).

This speculative "Eye-Test" BS should not trump a head to head outcome, and our resumes are similar in this hypothetical scenario. It would be asinine for them to leap us if we're undefeated.

EDIT: This isn't even taking Pitt into consideration who is putting together a pretty strong second half, and has a road to winning their division. It's not a win I would brag about, but it's getting stronger each week.

I think PSU is a joke when you look at how hyped they were. Lest we all forget, they had to go to OT to beat App St in Happy Valley.

The fact that they have Michigan ahead of GA is not a good sign for ND. Means they obviously value Michigan pretty highly. Still stand by my earlier post. If the top four win out, the committee is probably going to put them at #3.

If Michigan has the best defense in the country, doesn't that mean we are even better since we led them wire to wire?

Fuck Herbie saying Notre Dame is out if scUM wins big ten and Georgia beats Bama. Joey actually defended ND

The SEC love is unbelievable. LSU ahead of three one loss teams is a joke.

If that did happen then ND should schedule the 'undefeated in forever' UCF for a thirteenth game.

Better yet, schedule Bama’s mid-November FCS cupcake as the 13th game.

Seriously though, I think the only way ND could have a 13th game is to play Hawaii every year. That’s a bit much considering Bama & Clemson would have the same # of FBS wins as ND if they all win out. If UGA makes the Playoff, they’d still have one less FBS win than ND due to their loss.

Especially because they SUCK! They got lucky in one game against Georgia, and somehow that covers up the fact that their offense is TOTAL GARBAGE.

This is borderline criminal. Not only did we beat them, we share a common opponent that we beat by a wider margin.

Kind of makes my point about the SEC, UGA has done nothing this year but beat two teams that built their “resumes” on equally shaky terms... rename it the self fulfilling conference.

We are all taking the bait that these dickheads are dangling on their weekly sec circle jerk. ND is not getting jumped by any one loss team if they stay undefeated, that includes Georgia. No, I am not a blind homer or in denial, this is fact. The yearly sec FCS bye week is nearly upon us, wtf are they going to talk about that week?

Yup. Jump won't happen until the last poll, but I'd wager it happens (if games play out the way we think)

It's tuuuuuurrrrrrriiiiiiiiiibbbbbbbuuuuuulllllll
such a circle jerk.

I agree. I don’t see scUM jumping us if we run the table.

If ND had the same resume as LSU... 2 losses, a throttling by Bama... they wouldn’t even be top 15.
