Michigan was actually down 17-0 to Northwestern not up 17-0
thats sexy
Michigan was actually down 17-0 to Northwestern not up 17-0
Then the committee would be really stuck where they would likely be faced with keeping an undefeated Notre Dame out of the playoff (not happening) or somehow have Notre Dame jump back in front of Michigan with no reasonable grounds to justify the flip back.
If that did happen then ND should schedule the 'undefeated in forever' UCF for a thirteenth game.
If we go undefeated, "miss the playoffs" and win our bowl...
Do we claim a natty???
What channel will the announcement be on? Looks like ESPN channels have college basketball

on ESPN at 9pm between the two games

WTH is going on with this thread? Am I hearing people say Michigan is the biggest threat to Bama and Michigan might jump us in the poles? WTF, is this twilight zone? A) we beat them this year B) we have no losses. End of discussion. LSU ranking ahead of ND last week was a complete joke and they proved it by being as non-competitive with Bama as Arkansas was.

OSU is well situated to throw over the top of Michigan's defense. I'm not sure it's a great matchup for UM. OTOH, Ohio State is playing like dogshit lately so matchups may not matter.
No one has been able to throw over the top of Michigan's defense.
That game doesn't count. Not officially included in the "revenge tour" per Harbaugh.
No one has been able to throw over the top of Michigan's defense. Going deep over the top isn't really OSU's bag in terms of passing game either. They get the ball out quick and do a lot of short passes and get YAC. Which is why Haskins could throw 75 times vs Purdue and not put up huge #'s or TD's. OSU's pass game really plays into Michigan's hands on defense.
Ohio State's defense is basically a hot pile of trash and they are struggling to run the football. Their defense has given up more plays of 30 or more yards than every single team in the FBS with the exception of Kent State and UConn. They hadn't been able to run the ball in weeks. They ran pretty well vs Nebraska, but Nebraska's run defense is 92nd in the S&P+ run defense ratings. Not sure you can take away much from that. They also struggled mightily with Nebraska at home, barely beat them 36-31. Nebraska sucks. A lot. Ohio State should've wiped them off the field. They couldn't because their defense truly is terrible.
The only reason I think it'll be a very close game is because it's in Columbus. If it was in Ann Arbor, I think the line would be Michigan by 14.

You read one person on this board writing that Michigan would beat Alabama, which no one openly supported as remotely possible. However, the chance of Michigan jumping us is not as far-fetched as one would think having recognized the slob-job the "experts" have been giving Michigan since the summer. That narrative wasn't going to stop with a loss to us, and it's only picked up horrible steam like Winovich's bright idea to grow out his hair into "something pretty". Haven't you heard? Michigan has an incredible defense. So, no, it's not an end of discussion. No one actually agrees that this would be justified, but anything is possible.

Also, fun fact. We have the #1 SOR currently which by all objective measures is the single best representation of who you beat and W/L. It also happens to approximate most closely the CFP committee selections over the last 4 years. Only one team without a top 4 SOR has made the playoffs out of 16.
