Unfortunate, but not much you can do with lightening, t-storms, and torrential downpours all day (still currently in progress). Local news report said BC was refunding tix bought through them.

TCU is awful. I am glad we didn’t fire Kelly and hire Patterson.

Isn't the narrative usually "<Insert SEC team here> doesn't want to be here." Lower bowls are beneath them.

Of course. If a 7-3 (overrated) UF team can’t beat a depleted scUM, they should be relegated to the AAC & let UCF take their spot in the SEC East.

UCF vs LSU should be dubbed the “Excuse Bowl” b/c whichever team loses will have plenty of excuses. Should the Tigers lose then they “didn’t want to be here” plus “our starting CBs sat out for the NFL draft”. Should the Knights lose they will point out that their “starting QB who led them to back-to-back undefeated seasons was out w/ injury”

Not picking on those two fanbases but it does serve as a mircocosm for what bowl season has become. I don’t blame the players as they can control very little & receive a pile of swag for their services as they spend Christmas away from family.

Well in UCFs defense, Milton was the heartbeat of their team, and would 100% be playing his butt off in that game if he didnt have a mangled leg. This game means a lot to them, as it should.

No doubt QB would be toughest position to replace on any team. The backup played well in his absence & will have three weeks of 1st team reps under his belt so I’m hoping he can ball out.

Daniel Jones, most likely the #1 QB prospect now that Justin Herbert announced he's staying at Oregon, just left the Independence Bowl with a foot/ankle injury.

...and the backup QB just threw a pick six. Temple up early.

EDIT: He's back out there, heavily taped left ankle. Still goes to show you why these kids don't play in these bowl games that don't matter. If you have a shot at the next level, I don't blame them for airing on the side of caution.

Hopefully this turns into a close shootout. Bowl games have been low key so far

After last night's debacle, I hope so too. For some reason I stayed up (on a work night no less) to watch 4th and OT. Still not sure why. Probably for no other reason than the fact that CFB is quickly approaching the finish line.

I just love seeing Miami get rolled up.

Agree. All those years that they got to play bowl games on their home field...great to see them playing in COLD weather vs. a COLD weather team. BK surely would love a do-over of last year's game...ND was psyched out and never in that game.

Tuned into the Vandy v. Baylor game. Thought to myself, "we beat vandy so I should root for them." Then I remembered who their piece of shit coach is. GO BEARS!

LSU down another cornerback at Fiesta Bowl; Edwards-Helaire, Small OK to play after fatal shooting

LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and reserve linebacker Jared Small are available to play in the Tigers' New Year's Day Fiesta Bowl after the duo was involved in a fatal shooting during an attempted armed robbery in Baton Rouge last week, coach Ed Orgeron said late Thursday night.

The two players were trying to sell an electronic item when Kobe Johnson, 18, pulled out a weapon and demanded the players' belongings. One of the two players pulled out a handgun and shot Johnson multiple times.

The LSU players were questioned and released without arrest, and, as of last weekend, police said the case likely would go to the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney's Office as a self-defense shooting.

While Edwards-Helaire and Small are available to play, three others -- including a key defensive back -- won't play.

Orgeron said Kelvin Joseph, a key cog in a thin defensive secondary, and offensive lineman Dare Rosenthal have been suspended for violating team rules. Linebacker Travez Moore isn't with the team, Orgeron said, for "personal issues."

The news was the most recent hit to LSU's depth on defense.

Starting cornerbacks Greedy Williams, who declared for the NFL draft, and Kristian Fulton, who underwent ankle surgery at the end of the regular season, both are also unavailable for the Fiesta Bowl.

Highest Average New Cost Per Scholarship: This is the highest average additional dollar amount that a school’s athletes could receive in 2015-16 due to the NCAA’s new COA definition, according to figures schools provided to CBS Sports. It’s important to note: The numbers in the CBS Sports database are not necessarily the definitive COA figure for every school, nor do they mean a school is providing COA. (The “Estimated New Costs” category shows whether a school is providing COA or not.)

LSU’s Cost Of Attendance stipend is $3,800 off campus and $3,200 on campus. Those figures came from the Baton Rouge Advocate.

If you enjoy smash-mouth offense, Pittsburgh and Stanford are playing in the 85th Sun Bowl. The Sun Bowl is tied for second longest annual bowl game with the Orange and Sugar. Only the Rose Bowl has a longer history.

Pat Narduzzi, Pitt coach:

“Last I looked, I think Stanford huddles, too. This is going to be a game where the two teams both huddle. I think fans might get a kick out of that. They might not know what that is.”
"They play similar football. This is going to be like an old 1985 bowl game, where both teams are going to line up with two backs in the backfield and actually run the football — not throw it and spread.”

The community of El Paso gets behind the Sun Bowl. David Shaw said his players are excited because the Sun Bowl’s “hospitality is off the charts” and added that the reception the city gives its traveling teams “is the best of all the bowls.”

As we know, Stanford "fans" are a small group and may not travel well.

TCU had something like 30 season-ending injuries this year. Their roster was down to 50 scholarship players ready to play at one point. Finishing 8-6 with a bowl victory over a much-improved Cal team ain't bad all things considered.

I was at that game a couple nights ago. 6 interceptions before the half, 9 in total for the game. Was actively rooting for more, as that was the only exciting thing going on. Made me wonder what the current record for total interceptions in a single NCAA game is, but I couldn't find it.
