On a couple different sports shows today (first take was one), most said both LA teams were favs to get to the SB. What surprised me is that Indy was getting a ton of love. Said Indy's biggest issue is getting in to the playoffs. If they do, they are the last team most teams want to see right now. First Take said they could see the Colts going on a run in the playoffs if they make it. The were really down on the Pats and Brady.

and loved twitter blowing up on Skip Bayless.

Colts got screwed in a couple places in the Pro Bowl selection... How do you leave out the league's leading tackler (Darius Leonard)? And Luck, who is second in the league in TDs, didn't get a nod (likely an ALT though). Brady has about the same yards, but 10 less TDs. Brady has a slightly better QBR, Luck a slightly better Rating. But 10 TDs less. Wut?

Very happy with the ones we got though.

All the Ebron haters need to revisit lol...

AND THE BIG ONE!!

I still have the image in my mind in the Indy-Dallas game of Q downfield getting ready to hit Jaylon when he play was dead and Jaylon tapping Q's helmet when the play was whistled dead.

Two of the Irish's finest.

Lots to play for this last week for AFC teams. Division champs, top seeds, and final Playoff teams all are up for grabs.

KC has to win against Oakland for the Number One seed - or will drop to fifth, losing home field advantage.
Chargers win against Denver and with KC loss clinches the division.
Houston loses to Jacksonville and is in danger of losing the division.
New England gets the Number One seed with win against the Jets and with KC and LAC losses.
Baltimore loses and with a Pittsburgh win, they could be out.
Indy and Tenn game is a probably an elimination game. With a Houston loss and Indy win, Indy wins the division.
Pittsburgh has to win and get help.

KC, NE and Houston have clinched Playoff spots. Only NE has clinched their division.

NE and Houston will play in the early set of games.
The Chargers, Ravens, Chiefs and Steelers play in the second set of games. All will be scoreboard watching.
Indy and Tenn will know if Houston lost and whether they could be playing for the division title as well as a playoff spot.

Fearless predictions:

Let’s do it: ACamps fearless predictions:

-Eagles fail to make the playoffs
-Raiders fall apart and finish last
- Pats win their division simply because it’s THAT bad, but the shine is gone forever by year’s end
-Browns win 8 games after losing their first two but running off a number of consecutive wins from there
-Boys, Viks, Steelers, Rams, Pats, Saints, Chiefs, Chargers headline the playoffs...
- Lions, Jets, Raiders, Fins, Bengals make up the bottom of the league
-Gurley edges Brees for MVP even tho:
-Saints win the NFC
-They face the AFC West Champs in the Super Bowl.... chiefs/chargers... take your pick.

It is known

Not bad all told,... at least to this point.

From 9-6-18? You could make some money in Vegas.

NFL news:
- Mahomes throws his 50th touchdown, tying Brady for the second most TDs in a season.
- Mayfield breaks rookie TD record shared by Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson
- Ravens win the AFC North
- Pittsburgh is out of the Playoffs (unless Indy and Tenn tie), losing to all four teams in the AFC West
- Against the AFC West teams, the rest of the AFC Central were - Baltimore 3-1, Cleveland and Cincy were 1-3.
- Indy-Tenn will probably decided the final spot in the AFC
- Philadelphia gets the final spot in the NFC
- Mike Mayock is interviewing for the Raiders GM positon
- KC and NE get the byes in the AFC with KC having home field throughout the Playoffs
- New Orleans and LA Rams get the NFC byes with the Saints having home field advantage

If I owned an AFC team, the last group I'd prefer to face is that squad from Indy...winners of 8 of their last 9 and soon to be 9 of 10.

Should they earn their way in, the first stop appears to be Houston. Division opponent who the Colts have already handled once and at worst should have tied in the other match up. My $$$ would certainly not be on Houston.

Open mouth, insert foot - as soon as I hit send Luck throws a pick six.

Four teams - the Jets, Bucs, Dolphins and Cardinals - have asked permission to interview Eric (Sleeping with the) Bienemy, KC's OC. The two previous Chiefs' OCs hired by other teams are Doug Pederson (Eagles) and Matt Nagy (Bears).

Mike Mayock hired as the Raiders' GM.

The top five are still playing.

Final list of PFF's highest-graded quarterbacks in the NFL in 2018 (PFF)

1. DREW BREES, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Overall Grade: 94.7

Brees finished the regular season with a 3:1 big-time throw to turnover-worthy throw ratio, which was good for third-best among qualifying signal-callers. He also finished second in passer rating (125.6) and third in turnover-worthy throw rate from a clean pocket (1.06).

2. PATRICK MAHOMES, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Overall Grade: 93.2

Mahomes’ clean-pocket passer rating (134.2) led all qualifying signal-callers in 2018. He also led the league in big-time throws (46) and ranked third in total big-time throw percentage (7.9). And he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

3. ANDREW LUCK, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Overall Grade: 91.1

Finally healthy, Luck led his team into the postseason with stellar performances down the stretch of the regular season. He picked up 59.9% of his passing yards through the air, good for the third-highest-mark among qualifiers, and ranked 10th in total big-time throw percentage (5.0%) in the process.

4. PHILIP RIVERS, LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Overall Grade: 90.8

Rivers drew some MVP consideration for his efforts in 2018, and rightfully so. He finished the year ranked seventh in big-time throw percentage (5.7%) and sixth in passer rating while under pressure (83.8).

5. TOM BRADY, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Overall Grade: 90.7

Brady wasn’t his normal self this season, but his abnormal self is still the fifth-best quarterback in the NFL. His 1.86 big-time throw to turnover-worthy throw ratio ranked eighth among qualifiers, and his clean-pocket turnover-worthy throw percentage (1.81) was the seventh-lowest on the year.

The Bengals have started letting assistant coaches go without naming a new HC...

That means they know who they're hiring, but the guy is still coaching.

I'm hoping it's Bienemy, but I guess I'd be happy with Zac Taylor, too.

Bears named Chuck Pagano as DC. Talk about a nice job to walk into.
Hope he kills it.

It's Taylor.

I was pulling for Bienemy but I'm interested to see how the McVay coaching tree performs.

I loved Bienemy as a college player and watching him coach at the combine is always good stuff. I hope he gets his opportunity soon.

Good article with advanced stats on why the Chiefs' attacking D was such a force against the Colts offense. The Chiefs made some defensive changes a couple of weeks ago that has paid dividends.

Chiefs defensive trends and tabulation for 2019 Divisional Round against the Colts (Arrowhead Pride)

From the Colts' perspective:
5 takeaways from Colts 31-13 Divisional Round loss to the Chiefs (Stampede Blue)

Damien Williams has now emerged from a KC secret to a national audience. He is tied with Sony Michel, NE's starter for most Ave/Gm in the postseason. Averaging over 5+ yds per carry in four games which is slightly less than Kareem Hunt did.

NE doesn't necessarily play the zone Tampa 2 and one gap defensive line scheme that is the Indy base defense.

It's going to be chilly at Arrowhead. Single digits expected.

Portent?

Chiefs defense has always played better at home for one major reason. KC gets off to a hot start at home forcing teams to play catch up throwing the ball. That means they can concentrate on rushing the QB which is exactly what happened to Indy.

KC looks like the Colts when Manning was running the show. High octane offense with weapons all over the field and a defense that has some serious pass rushers on the edge. I'm rooting for KC, but it will not shock me if NE controls the game and gets the win.

Hunt and Chubb is quite the one-two punch.

Browns are gonna be pretty good if they add another WR, aren't they?

Duke Johnson will be moved I assume,...??

I actually haven't read that they are parting ways with anyone.

Chubb and Hunt will be an outstanding 1-2 punch for them though. Hunt is as good of a pass catcher as Duke J. but more explosive in the open field. I don't see Duke getting much PT this season.
