I'm a huge Hank Aaron fan, I'm named after him... he's my guy. How in the hell did I just now learn, or maybe just now remember (how could I forget!?) that Hank is a life long Browns fan and was a regular of the DawgPound for many years.... Hank is my spirit animal.

No quarterback has ever been as scared of throwing the ball downfield as Eli Manning is right now. I’d be terribly frustrated if I were a Giants fan.

At least they get to watch Barkley, though.

Eli has been washed up for about 2 years now. Barkley is the man but it’s crazy they didn’t draft a QB.

Until the NYGs get some decent OL, any QB is going to be doomed. I'd fix that before going after the next franchise QB.

Draft some stud OLs next year, suffer another year with Eli, and then go all in.

Honestly think Eli is kind of garbage.... he’s one of my most disappointing QBs ever, expected him to be a star and he’s never been, ever.... he gets love because his DLine pimped another overrated QB in two Super Bowls but last I checked he wasn’t on the field at the time. He’s never been that good really,... he’s hidden behind good teams for years, he’s the reverse Dan Marino.

Not saying he's good. I just think you're wasting a good draft pick if you go after a QB with a shit OL. We've seen too many QBs come in fail either because they don't have an OL, or they should have sat year. NY's O has great WR and RB, but lacks all the other pieces.

Their OL has been fine according to most rankings out there. Really think teams just stack the box cause Eli is 0 downfield threat at this point.

The talent in the league is so even that teams rarely have that horrible of OLs. The Giants supposedly have had a bad one for a while now. It’s likely the QB.

Idk... They went out and paid Nate Solder to protect the blindside, and he has played poorly.

Lol. Hes a sure-fire HOFer, and 2 time Super Bowl MVP. What is disappointing about him? Its not like anyone expected him to be Peyton.

He prob will make the hof, though I have long disagreed with the logic... and did expect more from him as a Pro. He's basically a Neil O'Donnell/Brian Griese level QB who was fortunate enough to have been on two championship teams. He shouldn't have even won those MVPs but 'quarterback's brah"...

This. He has a just-over .500 winning percentage for his career, was probably, at best, 3rd best QB in his conference (maybe 3rd once or twice, but generally 5th-10th), and 5th-10th best QB in the league.

You can't take away his two SB's (and he obviously played a big part in those), but he's never even won a playoff game outside of '07 and '11. Hell, he only made it 4 other times, so he's led his team to playoffs 6 times out of 15.

He'll get in the HOF because of the SB's, but that's it. Nothing else in his career makes him a HOF-er, and he had a ton of help (and luck) in getting those 2. He's generally been a better than average QB throughout his career.

NO.... The OL is, and has been bad. Their "badness" was the talk of most talking heads to begin the season. They were ranked like 27th last year. You'll be hard pressed to find any ranking out there that does not have them in the bottom 10. Hernandez was a good pick up, Solder is OK, but the rest is plain garbage. From center to RT, I'm not sure there is a worst side out there.

11 was an outstanding year for him in many ways (not just the SB, take a look at his stats). He'll get in because of the two SB wins, and 2 SB MVPs.

He is 6th all time in passing yards and completions, and 7th in TDs. Those are HoF numbers. He just hasn't generally looked good doing it outside of, like, a 5 year run.

One thing is for sure... he's no Baker, Baker, Touchdown Maker. Eli never would have gotten three steps off before getting grounded by those police.... no way.

Guys like Vinny Testaverde, Dave Krieg, Steve Deberg, Kerry Collins, and Carson Palmer have all been high on these lists as well. Meanwhile, guys like Steve Young and Kurt Warner haven't.

Longevity and rule changes (particularly the ones we started seeing in '03 and since) have been Eli's biggest friends. Throwing for 4,000 yards in a season ain't no thang in the current NFL. Players should be measured by how they stacked up against contemporaries and how they performed while they played.

As I said, he'll get in the HOF, but based 99% on his 2 titles. But the guy has maybe 1 time in his career (2 tops) ever been considered top 5 at his position in the league. Every other year, he's been a top-10ish type QB. Or in other words, he's largely been Vinny Testaverde, Dave Krieg, Steve Deberg, or Carson Palmer for the vast majority of his career.

You're right, no doubt. The point I was saying is, he did put up the numbers (Even though, yes, all numbers are inflated by the rule changes of the last 15 years).

"Who are Matt Hasselback and Mark Brunell, Alex?"

"I'll take obscure quarterbacks past their prime for 500."

"This is today's 'Daily Double'."

So I've been going down the rabbit hole all day with these backup, average, forgotten QBs... Interesting note, Xaverian Brothers HS's (Where Hasselbeck went) Wiki page has a fantastic edit. For the fight song someone put down: "X Goin' Give it to Ya" Pure Gold.

haha, that's great... on a side, I'm actually impressed DMX lived through his peak fame. Coming right off Biggie and Pac and talking as much smack as he did, I remember thinking numerous times, "This dude is getting killed..."

John Elway:

Eli Manning:

I would never say Eli was a better QB than Elway, but his stats are far from terrible, and the 2 SBS are icing.

*If Eli toiled away in San Diego, we probably arent having this discussion.

I see that it snowed all day yesterday in Denver where the Broncos host the LA Rams today. It's snowing now but will end early this afternoon/evening. This will be one of the coldest Bronco game on record. Their game is at 2 PM MST. (Fantasy alert?)

The forecast is to break the record for the coldest October 14th on record, which is 28 degrees. Clearing skies and snow on the ground will shatter the record for the coldest October 15th which is 20 degrees. Forecast tonight is 10 degrees.

map_wkpln_day1_3uswc_enus_800x450.jpg

In Green Bay, the temperature is 41 degrees, light wind.
