is a "jizzle" like ghey love?

I'm just hoping the new staff can bring a few hungry guys in to help plug the holes. No high expectations but bodies with any type of potential. I feel that whenever (wait, this scramble happens every year?) the Irish do a last minute sprint to fill a class (with offers flying out the door) the board feels like they'll land several-and they don't sign. It's a heart breaker.

The last big time running out "get" that I recall,... Niklas. Now that was BIG.

Justin Trattou was the worst ever... was red alarm, critical must get... flipped the night before signing day (or very close to it) after being committed for months.... I basically gave up following recruiting over that one.

So if everyone had 3 people they could realistically flip... Who do they want to flip to ND?

Great suggestion!

Realistically:
1. S Jordan Genmark-Heath (depth)
2. One of the WRs (depth)
3. Unfortunately, not looking like a DL is realistic right now but hopefully that changes or I am missing something (preferably a DE)

That was tough one. As well as the OT Little who signed with Georgia on signing day. Or was that Greg Little with UNC. Getting them mixed up, but I'm sure it was one of them.

The worst and most shocking to me still to this day is Greenberry.

lol I remember the two nights before signing day TP said Greenberry is going to Houston, I literally was to busy laughing to take him seriously or respond. It's not the biggest shocker seeing how he probably knew Tee wasn't going too make it

Yeah it's not that he didn't sign with ND. It was the he signed with Houston and not a school like USC. I had not heard that news by TP, so was total shock to me.

Awesome thread idea Opie

Lettuce talk about past recruiting wins and flips that rustled everyone

My top 3 that we lost over the years

Alex Anzalone
Robert Beal
Elijah Hood
Eddie Vanderdoes still pisses me off to this day because I knew months before it was actually news

My favorite gains
Brandon Wimbush
Aliz'e Jones
Aaron Lynch and his one season because his recruitment was ridiculous. I still remember the exact moment where I read he was going to visit ND that weekend. I was eating lucky charms and just rolled a jizzle in my roomates room and I thought what a time to light up. Getting Stephon Tuitt back in the same class was awesome because I'm like this will never happen again
Jarron Jones as well I was so excited when he flipped I was driving down 172 and almost drove my car into the bay due to excitement

You said top 3 and listed 4. :(

I completely agree on Lynch. I remember when Terry Tate started the new thread. I was on paternity leave because my son had been born two weeks before (and I took off 3 weeks). I remember refreshing my browser all the time (even though I think I was still lurking then). I can admit that sometimes I love the drama of recruiting. I believe that Lynch's recruitment was the reason that I joined.

You can just say my name

Dude, you are awesome. No one cares (well most maybe?) that you are edgy. You bring great info and are transparent as hell. I really appreciate the perspective you bring to this forum.

Yeah, Omar Hunter sucked as well. Mostly because Meyer seemed to be able to steal anyone he wanted from us while at Florida.

I don't think anyone was named specifically. Anyway I'm just a fan on this board and try to contribute a little. You are one of the best posters that really brings great info. I think you really try and be a good dude too while not being afraid to express an opinion. Not easy on this board. Just do what you do. It's appreciated.

No because I was 8 and it was my first game. We lived in Memphis at the time, my Dad had just got home from Vietnam and they were a Christmas gift to me and my Dad from Pop. We drove down early New Years eve, we left like at 2am in the morning because it was a 7 hour drive back then. 55mph speed limit. Was warm when we left, cold when we got there. Tons of Alabama fans and tons of cigar smoke.

Think it was cigar smoke........

A) Thanks for your dad's service. Hope he's well; what branch?

B) Did you notice the white line giggling back and forth, kind of like a snake? Did the tail lights of other cars blur together, and then start dancing? Did it take an extra hour or two for you to get home because of frequent stops for Bugles and other snack foods? Did you doze and wake up with your hands, and or forehead stuck to the seat fabric because of sugar coating that mixed with saliva, hardening like glue? If you didn't answer no to all of these questions, probably wasn't all cigar smoke!

I remember watching that game, one of the first I watched with a girl type friend. She was rather impressed, (not in a good way) with my behavior. She had never seen anyone so into football and reactive to the situation; I couldn't imagine anyone not. We got over it.

Thanks for sharing your good memory, 'preciate you reminding me of one of my own!

Football Recruiting: Weekend Visitor Preview – January 20th, 2017

With National Signing Day now less than two weeks away and the Irish scrambling to fill the wholes still left in this class, these next couple of weekends will prove to be very important for last-minute visits. With that in mind, in lieu of Big Board updates these next couple of recruiting updates will be dedicated to those imperative weekend visits. This weekend we’ve got a handful of Irish targets in the Bend, as well as a few current Notre Dame commits.

Keep in mind that this list is liable to change as there could be some last-minute additions or drops.

Irish Commits on Campus

David Adams — Linebacker — .918

The Under Armour All American will be on campus with his recruiting hat on. David’s recruiting ratings recently took a hit in the aftermath of his solid-but-not-great performance at during Under Armour week, during which he played injured. He’s now rated as the #204 player nationally by the 247 Composite.

Kurt Hinish — Defensive Tackle — .867

Kurt will be making the trip with his good friend and high school teammate, David. Not much going on with him, it seems, although he did earn All-Pennsylvania honors along with fellow Irish commits Josh Lugg, Adams, Phil Jurkovec (2018), and Matt Bauer (2018).

Drew White — Linebacker — .845

Drew had a monster senior year, tallying 107 tackles, two blocked punts, a fumble recovery, and a sack. It was enough to earn him 8A-6A First Team All-County honors.

Irish Targets on Campus

Russ Yeast — Cornerback — .891

Notre Dame just offered this in-state Under Armour All American last night. A Notre Dame offer is one that would have been hard to turn down if it had come during the summer, but Russ has been committed to Louisville for a while now. However, with the departure of Lousville’s DC, there may be a window for the Irish to sneak in. After receiving the offer, Russ set up his visit to Notre Dame within a matter of hours. It’ll be intriguing to see how things progress if he does indeed make it to South Bend.

Jordan Genmark-Heath — Safety — .865

Notre Dame was the dream offer for this current Cal commit. It took a while for him to receive that offer, though, and he had already been committed to Cal for a few months before it came on January 11th. With the current changes coming to Cal, Jordan is pretty open to Notre Dame as an option. Watch for this one — a flip could happen within the next few days.

Evan Fields — Safety — .861

Heading into this official visit, Arizona State has a slight lead for Evan Fields. The Irish are in pretty good position, though, and this visit could prove to be a game-changer for him. Reports are that he’s a great fit for Notre Dame, and it’s easy to imagine the Irish pulling ahead after this weekend. He makes his decision on January 30th.

Chris Miller — Cornerback — .858

After the news of Denbrock leaving broke it appeared as though Miller, a Colorado commit, had stopped considering the Irish (Denbrock was his primary recruiter). A new development came up about a week ago, though, and Notre Dame is back in it. Texas offered a few days ago, and that could be something to keep an eye on. But the Longhorns offered Chris as a receiver and he prefers defensive back. If all goes well this weekend, the Irish will have a great shot at flipping him.

Tre Norwood — Cornerback — .839

Since our last Big Board update, Tre has added offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Tennessee. The Irish currently have a big lead going into this weekend’s visit. They’ll be hoping to lock this up with a commitment by the end of it, but for right now the plan is for Tre to take an official to Oklahoma before making a decision.

Kofi Wardlow — Defensive End — .836

Kofi is another kid who just picked up his Notre Dame offer last night and immediately set up an official visit. He’s a rush end prospect who is currently committed to Maryland. He called Notre Dame a “dream school” though, and he should be watched as another potential flip candidate. Mike Elko has been working on Kofi since arriving at Notre Dame earlier this month. I can’t stress enough how refreshing it is to have a DC who actively recruits now.

Micah Jones (2018) — WR — .895

It’s still pretty early in Micah Jones’ recruitment, but the Irish appear to have the early edge over the likes of Michigan State, Illinois, Northwestern, and Iowa.

So best case scenario land all of them (Yeast, JGH, Fields, Miller, Norwood, and Wardlow). We would still have room for MacHip and others.

Would be impressive finish to class considering current state of things.

However, Yeast, Wardlow and JGH would be the three id prefer if we only land half.

There are visitors planned for the weekend of Saturday the 28th also right?
