Can somebody tell me the Ramcyk hype? Dude has played one year of college football and is talked about being a top 15 pick? Just don't know if I see it. I know Wisconsin plugs out OL every year but I feel like only Freddrick and Thomas have made it

Only in the IE mock draft does OJ Howard end up at 19

OT is super weak in this draft. The most sure thing at OT is probably a guy from WKU that should play OG.

Ramcyzk and Bolles are way behind Robinson, and are both risky. Who would you take before any of the three I mentioned if you're OT-needy?

I understand it's an extremely down year for OL. I don't think he would be this high in a normal draft. Dude played D3 football and one year of D1 football at a program that always produces top OL. Bolles will be 25 during his rookie year so I have a hard time seeing him in the first round as well. Dude will be thirty when he is ready for his second contract. I would take Robinson because I think he has the most upside. I would take Robinson, Lamp, Feeney or Roderick Johnson or Sharpe based on upside. I know Feeney and Lamp are guards. Man it's just a tough year for OL

I think Lamp is the best OT, but he won't get a chance to play OT because of measurable. Zack Martin clone.

Martin could be a lock-down LT in the league probably, but he's an all-world guard. Lamp will be the same, unless someone gets smart and let's him play OT.

That's weak. Just a name? No profile?

Seriously guys. We really suck at this year. Not only will we not get through two rounds before the first day of the real draft, but the effort some of you are putting into your profiles is terrible.

C'mon Irishman, especially if you're gonna take someone else's pick, throw us a little color.

I wonder if no one has read or seen a mock draft what this draft would look like

Seriously. Wtf?

At some point we need to put smaller windows on picks. I appreciate all the work that Me2SB has put into pm'ing y'all. But damn... quit disrespecting the dude's time by not making your picks. Picks I may add, you should at least put an ant's dick with of work actually posting. If you don't have time to follow whether your pick is up, then you don't deserve to the pick. I think 1 pm and two hours is more than enough time to give up the pick if they aren't paying attention. Let's get this thing done.

Anyone that wants to pick for the Lions or Fins have at. What a weak draft. Don't bitch about the pace then not show up.

To avoid being presumptious but in an effort to move this along, the Detroit Lions select Taco Charlton, DE from Michigan.

usa_today_9639962.0.jpg

2017 NFL mock draft: Detroit Lions get pass rusher Taco Charlton (sbnation)

As is often the case, the Detroit Lions have few needs on offense. On defense, however, you can find several holes on a team that failed to generate an outside pass rush in 2016. Detroit also needs to draft at least one starting-caliber linebacker this year and bringing in DJ Hayden shouldn’t be all the team does at cornerback.

For Jeremy Reisman of Pride of Detroit, he has a chance in the first round to figure out one of those needs.

21. Lions: Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
Reisman: The board couldn’t have fallen much better for the Detroit Lions. Detroit needs serious help on defense and the last five picks were all offensive skill players. The Lions are left with their choice of several players worthy of the 21st-overall pick: Haason Reddick, Taco Charlton, Zach Cunningham, or Takkarist McKinley.

While Reddick and Cunningham fill a more pressing need at linebacker, I ended up picking Charlton for one simple reason: He is the best defensive player on the board right now.

It seems every draft guru has a different opinion on Charlton. Some see him as a top-10 pick, some see him as a second-round pick. I see a pass-rushing specialist who excelled once Michigan changed to a defensive scheme that better served Charlton’s skillset. He can get to the quarterback with his speed, handwork and balance around the edge, but he’s also an above-average run defender. When paired with Ezekiel Ansah on the defensive line, Charlton would make a great closed end on the left side.

Detroit had the second-fewest sacks in the league in 2016 and failed to force a single turnover in the final five games of the season. Charlton is the exact kind of playmaker the Lions defense needs.

Analysis: If the Lions are actually presented with this many options on draft night, you have to wonder if they'll pursue a trade down. Since we don’t do that in this mock, you have to consider value. While Jeremy may consider Charlton the top defensive player available, I have Reddick rated higher than the players he mentioned. He can line up at multiple linebacker spots and can rush the edge. Charlton is more of a pure pass rusher, though, and there’s something to say for adding that skill set.

Reddick is gone from our board. Linebacker is a top need, but could be addressed later. Of note too, the Lions had the thirtieth ranked rushing offense in the NFL with injuries hitting the position. Theo Riddick is the only RB with receiving capabilities, so Christian McCaffery merited consideration for his skill set.

Next time we do this we should limit it to regular posters. This is ridiculous.

With the 22nd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select: Forrest Lamp OG Western Kentucky.

5niXAp7.jpg

The Dolphins have more holes on defense, but OG has been a trouble spot for years. With Tunsil falling last year, and drafting Lamp this year, the left side of the OL should be solid for years to come. Lamp played OT in college, but is projected to move inside due to a lack of arm length. His versatility has been noted by scouts, stating he could potentially line up anywhere on the line. He'll get to build a relationship with Tunsil and Pouncey on either side of him. His skills should make him a plug and play on what has been a very weak line. With LG sorted the two remaining guards can battle for the other spots, and the Fins can dedicate future picks to LB and CB.

This pick may not be popular with needs at LB and CB, less so DE and a safety partner for Reshad Jones. I went with Lamp because I feel defense is deeper in this draft. I also considered Tre'Davious White, CB LSU, and Zack Cunningham LB Vanderbilt. I felt Lamp presented a better value at this spot than either of those picks.

The Fins are talking to a lot of OLB/DE prospects and it's been rumored Vance Joseph wanted to switch to a 3-4 before he took the Broncos job. I didn't draft on that because it's speculation but it may be something the Fins pursue.

PM your complaints. I showed up for a week straight, it was my little sister's 21st yesterday. Eight days later we got to my pick by skipping other folks. I don't blame any of you for being pissed but it is what it is. Make a private group and invite regulars to coordinate so next year is more efficient. Thanks for the effort putting everything together though.

Griff thanks for making the pick. I don't know if your point of complaints via pm is directed at me or others nor am I going to get hung up on it. What I recommend is that anyone that isn't going to be around pm me w a list of half a dozen potential picks in priority order as another GM has done. I'll post the pick and when you are back you provide the profile with all supporting reasoning. I'll pm GkIrish now and hope we can keep it going and possibly get a second round going.

Naw man it's just in general. Not you specifically. The only reason it was my turn was because we decided to skip someone. I can't be late if the folks before me still haven't picked. Again, I know running these is thankless, so thanks for dealing with the bullshit.

That wasn't directed at you Mgriff. I'm talking about posters that no one knows that call a pick and then haven't been heard from since. If you only post once a week you shouldn't be throwing your hat into something like this.

With the 23rd pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the NY Football Giants select:

Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson

watson-steal.jpg

The Giants have Eli Manning, but Watson has too much talent/resume to ignore this late in the draft. The Giants don't really have a pressing need anywhere besides the Offensive Line and the best option (Bolles) isn't really a guy that is going to change the team outlook next year. There will be similar options in Round 2 so no need to reach for OL here.

The Giants are built to win now and can use the remaining picks to solidify depth. They take a page out of the Packers playbook with Favre/Rodgers and take a guy that could be the QB of the future. Alternatively, the Browns or Texans may come calling and this pick may be traded.

What would you have wanted in exchange for this pick?

With the 24th pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select Jarrad Davis, linebacker from Florida.

JDavis.jpg

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Rfq73CfZyJ0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

After much conversation and debate in the Raider's front office, we could have gone in a million different directions. We need a running back to replace Murray and we could use a tight end to compliment Amari Cooper, but we desperately need some help on the defensive side.

Jarrad Davis gives the Raiders a ton of help at the linebacker position and he has the potential to make an immediate impact. He has some medical concerns at Florida, but when he was in the game he made his presence felt. Khalil Mack can't do it all by himself, so we went out and got another playmaker for this offense. They have a great offense, now they need a defense to match it.

With the 25th pick in the 2017 IE NFL Mock Draft, the Houston Texans select Chidobe Awuzie CB Colorado. Calabrese's People will soon provide the profile, but this player was on top of his board prior to taking a few days off. Sherm Sticky and the Seattle Seahawks are now on the clock.

With the 26th pick in 2017 NFL Draft the Seattle Seahawks select Garett Bolles OT/OG from Utah.

Came down the Bolles and Kevin King of Washington. But the need on the oline out weighed drafting a corner.

Will have full writeup tomorrow.

With the 27th pick of the NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select...

Christian McCaffrey - RB, Stanford

images

The franchise all-time leading rusher Jamaal Charles is gone after dealing with knee injuries and surgeries over the last two seasons. Spencer Ware came out of nowhere in the second half of the 2015 season, and became the offense's top rusher posting 1,324 yards on 286 carries in 25 games. But his rugged running style diminishes the chances of him being productive over 16 games - he played 14 games in the 2016 season, but over the last 10 games, Ware's longest run was 17 yards. The Chiefs decide to solidify the position that their team depends on most with a three down back in McCaffrey.
