He's a zero star according to 247. Here are his highlights. I'd say he deserves a 2-star rating.

1500+ & 25TD's in 8A / Top 10 Florida deserves more than 2 stars.

I understand when Brian Urlacher comes out or nowhere in rural New Mexico but you don't put up those #'s in Florida and stay under the radar. They had 3 WR's go DI last year to top it off.

What a find.

Physically he's got the same length as Michael Floyd and Justin Brent only he's 15-20 lbs heavier at the same stage.

Long time Washington commit that flipped to Stanford in the last couple of weeks due to the academic opportunities offered at Stanford. I believe he performed nicely at The Opening. I'd guess ND is way too late on this

offer list is extremely meh, Pitt and Indiana are his best offers

Check out the thread on him. Bigger schools are now showing interest including ND and OSU.

Something positive. We were able to get 5 top 200 players (per rivals) to EE. That's some good publicity, even if you don't agree with the rankings of those players (personally pretty high on all of them). Not too many teams will have that distinction. Can sell that to new offers and undecided prospects, hopefully.

Earnest Brown should be offered now. 6'5 230 from Denton
Fisher- do we need another backer after Simmons?
Bethley- Really nice offer list but again do we need another DT? They must really not like Jerron Cage lol
Myron TAgovalio Amosa- yes because of his name
Aliki Vmahi- no tape
Noah Daniels- Just committed to TCU
Emmanuel Flowers- Kind of hoping there are better safety prospects
Sampson Niu- Oregon commit who we offered earlier in the year
KJ Jarrell- Probably my favorite guy on this list. Same HS as Byron Murphy and Christian Kirk. Could also play WR, ASU seems to be the leader

Thanks for the info Panda Panda

If I had to bet on it, I think we finish off the class with Antjuan Simmons, Oliver Martin, Michael Smith, and maybe Gavin Holmes.

I'd love to add 1 or 2 more defensive players to go with Simmons but I just think it might be too late. If Elko can offer a few kids and land them in January then that will show me that he is a lot better recruiting than I originally thought.

I don't see us finishing with just MacCollister as the only DE prospect. They'll likely end up with someone who isn't really a name right now, kinda like Cage and Mokwuah were in 2014.

Finishing with 5 receivers is pretty crazy, but this may be assuming that Pouncey jumps ship. I just looked up Michael Smith, and I'm clueless. What is his deal? He's not ranked...ANYWHERE. He's got nice size at 6'2 200+, decent wheels, great hands and plays against top-notch competition, yet he has no stars. What's the deal?

Yea, I don't see us closing with 3 WR's, unless we see a decommitment. I like Simmons, Martin, and Smith.

I think we'll definitely be adding more defensive players than just Simmons. I don't know who, but I don't think Elko is shy about offering 3 star (or lower) players since he's built his career off of it. If I had to guess position, it'll be one DB and 1 DL, plus Simmons.

Evan Fields (S) visits on Jan. 20. Elko is a S's coach.

Just a guess here, but I don't think Elko will be as standoffish when it comes to recruiting. I think he'll be more on top of numbers and planning. I'd expect that he starts to address depth gaps at certain positions.

I think Elko will be a major asset on the trail, because from what I've heard, his personality is appealing to recruits. He's not standoffish as BVG appeared to be, and he's very enthusiastic, but doesn't have an overly weird vibe that Diaco had.

I have a feeling Fields commits to ND... His family is high on ND.... We are thin at the position and he comes in equal to all since new dc

For me it has to do with more organization and willingness to grind than anything. I get the sense that Elko has a better understanding of those than BVG did, and more so than Diaco wanted to.

I don't think Diaco's poor recruiting late in his tenure, with ND, was due to having a weird vibe. It was lack of effort. He just stopped giving the effort that he did early on. In the beginning, Diaco was quite good on the trail and players loved the guy.

My limited knowledge of Smith is that he recently started playing football, was a basketball. A late bloomer type. Didn't play much his junior year, because he was behind seniors who were division I players. Most important he didn't attend any football camps.

Personally I love the kid and think he could be a big one player. Great size, speed, basically he is a freak. Tremendous at tracking balls and making the over he shoulder catch. And not to mention he plays in one of the toughest leagues in the country.

If the Irish land him and Martin, to go along with Pouncey and Young...sick WR class!

Thanks to all the insights/thoughts provided by those who are much more tuned in than I. My thought, can't believe Elko won't not bring in a couple of recruits. Hoping for DL and DB/S.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this or not. But with the recruits still out there is there any way we finish in the top ten this year?

I don't they will in 247's point system but they are currently 8th in the Avg Player Rating score at 90.44. That's just .05 behind LSU and Stanford (currently with a 92+ score) will fall when they have to fill out their class with 10+ 85 APR recruits.

So in that measure... which I think is more important, I think there's a very good chance they end up in the Top 10. They'll be a lock if they don't sign Michael Smith. That being said I'd rather sign MS and finish 14th.

I forgot about Hippenhammer. He was one of the best if not the best WR at Invasion.

Gotcha the tweets I saw said top 6.

I was just being sarcastic without the italics. All I'm saying is that he doesn't leave the state of Alabama unless they both pass on him. Unlikely, and I think we give the War Eagle shout on signing day.
