2017 Bold Prediction thread

This thread is for everyone to post their boldest prediction(s). Ideally we don't use this thread for shock value but to take a position that is truly against the grain. Go above and beyond the loftiest predictions or dig deeper than the most pessimistic floors.

I want to see everyone's best/worst.

I'll start off by saying Tony Jones Jr ends the season as our starting RB despite having two really good upperclassmen RBs ahead of him.

My worst prediction is forthcoming.

6-6 "worst" case-I'd actually prefer going 6-6 and Kelly getting shown the door than go 7-5 or 8-4 and Swarbrick retaining him. Just think if Kelly isn't winning 9+ in year 8, it's time for change.

Martini edges Morgan for tops in team tackles, and both are viewed as NFL draft stock. No one WR has fabulous season, but the receiving corps is cumulatively one of the nation's best. Defense has most takeaways for an ND team in two decades. Teams almost begin to fear Notre Dame on their schedules again. Three OLinemen are drafted highly, but Nelson just barely edges Kraemer for total nasty pancakes. IE commentators continue to complain that nothing is satisfactory. Stealth commentary readers create secret society to shoot most of these people before they can multiply their seed. OMM grudgingly condones their actions, as it is an imperfect world.)

Bold prediction: OMM comes off of his high horse and interacts with others as peers, not peasants.

We beat Georgia and Stanford. I think Georgia should roll us, but I'll predict our atmosphere + player's faith in the defense will get our players to play hard and cause 2 turnovers that change the game. Shawn Crawford and Drue Tranquill will force the turnovers.

We go 9-3, but it's a respectable 9-3 without any embarrassing losses. As a result of the mild success, the program gets stuck in a stage of limbo, ala Bo Pelini at Nebraska, and Jenkins forces Swarbrick to move Kelly out.

PJ Fleck rows his boat over to ND, and it comes out that he had a ND-clause in his contract at UM. ND fans get hype. It will work out like the last time we stole a coach from UM, and in 2019, ND will play in the title game to lose, but lose closely. PJ Fleck sleeps with Jenkin's daughter, and all hell breaks loose.

Phil Jurkovic freaks out and transfers to Tulane to play college basketball.

We could very well lost to Miami (they may even be favored). Then our wtf loss against Navy/NC state/MSU

Miami, UNC, MSU wouldn't be horrible losses. Irritating as all hell, but not horrible. Miami is ranked, UNC is functionally frisky, and MSU is a tough out.

*I'd take 9-3 with losses to those 3 over 9-3 with losses to UGA, USC, and Stanford. At least then it wouldn't another pedestrian season. Those losses would be extra salty, but those wins would be extra sweet.

Don't sleep on N.C. State. They're gonna be tough. They'll finish the season ranked in the top 20. That's my bold prediction.

Bold Prediction: Offense leads this team to the playoffs (where we lose to OSU).

Likely Prediction: Team goes 9-4 (bowl loss, sorry OMM) with an embarrassing loss to USC, a frustrating ("we should have won") type loss to Stanford, and a random loss to one of MSU, UNC, or Miami. Most rational posters recognize that Kelly is not the man to lead ND to the promised land, but OMM dismissively chides these posters because "Coach" did a good job improving upon last year.
