Eagles trade 1rst, 3rd and 4th this year plus a 1rst and 2nd next year for the Browns pick. Way to go Birds, be the team that makes the Browns look smart. No, no but I'm pump to get a QB who threw 1600 yards last year at ND state.

LOL I love it. In his defense, he was hurt for about half the season though. Broken wrist.

First of all, I love this for Dallas, 2 QB's going in the first 3 is the best case scenario for them.

Secondly, I love this for the Browns. It will be pretty darn nice next year to have 4 picks inside the top 50 selections. Patience.

Not sure how Philly thinks they are just a QB away from winning or that Wentz is the savior but this is starting to feel like a new franchise that continues to reach for the quick fix. Those franchises usually set themselves back too much to come out of, at least in the short term.

LOL EAGLES

Don't forget they traded away a ton of assets just to get to #8.

Considering neither Goff or Wentz are generational talents, I love this as a Giants fan.

I wouldn't go that far. They traded away an overpaid qb and parts of a middle linebacker. The Shady for Alonzo trade was horrible but I did like dumping Maxwell and Alonso

why didnt eagles sell the farm LAST YEAR to get Mariotta?

They tried to. I've read the titans were the ones that balked. I wanted to puke when I heard what they offered Tennessee

Do you think Wentz is worth what they just gave up to move from 8 to 2?

Probably not, but you said they gave up a ton of assets just to get to #8 and I don't really think they did.

Was hoping for Elliot and #8 and going from there, oh well.

The 2nd is in 2018.

Regardless I love the deal. Now let's not fuck it up and pick a Elliott at #8. Give me Buckner if he's available.

Finally, the Browns do something smart. If I am Hue Jackson I am really pleased. 2016 is going to be a turd and the 3rd and 4th rounders this year isn't going to change that much. But he could potentially have 4 top 50 picks next year and might give him an extra year or two leeway.

I have to think that this decision was made with this in mind. That going about this the right way, might take them some time, but they have bought in to being patient. Also, with the distinct possibility that Philly might also be a turd this coming season, sorry philly fans, then more than likely those will be some high picks.

The Browns will have the ammo to get Watson next year if that is who they covet.

Except they've done this before in varying degrees... but I'm with ya, considering how many multi-pick drafts they've already struck out on recently you have to think that NO ONE... not even The Browns.. can screw up this many multiple-pick drafts, in a row, this many times... it's literally impossible (I'm telling myself).

Someone on reddit went through and listed all the players we missed out on after we had already traded down. Really showed how trading down wasn't the problem it's who we picked once we traded down because there was still great talent available. So unless this regime can start drafting effectively it doesn't matter what picks we have.

In Hue we trust... let's hope the 'others' let him buy the groceries.

this. you can have all the picks in the world, and right now browns look like they made a great move, but its only good move, if they make their new picks successfully.

The organization has yet to show they can do that on a consistent basis.

Well more picks gives them more opportunities to get it right, and as they say even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

Now, you hold onto Joe Thomas imo...

Agreed. It never really made sense to trade him anyways. Most people that predicted us to trade him away had us using the pick we get in return to replace Joe. So what's the net gain of a move like that? You're getting a younger player who probably wont be as good as Joe, certainly nowhere near as good for a few years. I would rather draft a tackle with a lower pick and let them learn under Joe and grow into his replacement, rather than getting rid of Joe to replace him with an inferior player.

I'm excited, when they messed up the multi pick draft that should have been Watkins and Bridgewater (some here cheered that day... just sayin)... I thought, "Well that's it, they wont get another chance like that and they have basically NOTHING to show for it but JFF's herpes sore..."

Now just a few years later, hit that reset button and get it right over the next two years... time to build a Super Bowl team in Cleveland boys and girls.

With all this said... I can now all but guarantee that Goff and Wentz will both be HOFers now.....

Haha, I'm thinking the opposite. I feel like next year the birds will pull a Browns in that Bradford will lead them to 10-6. Wentz will get no time to develope then in 17 the birds blow up going 3-13 and are at the front of the draft looking for a QB again just like the Browns from 07-09 with Anderson and Quinn. Although I think it would be awesome if the Browns traded back to 22 to select the left over QB for a fourth time in a decade.

As a life long Browns fan I have seen this show before. Trade down acquire picks and do nothing with them. It's the exact same thing every regime has done since they came back in 1999. Trying not to be negative but I am so sick of them not getting a franchise QB.
