Hopefully we'll hear a lot more ND hype this time around.

I thought they were going to rotate the venue like the Super Bowl....

Chicago setting with several ND guys potentially going in first round. Sounds good!

Wait, so he's a potential 1st rounder but not a legit CFB #1?

No way he stays..... He's a top 10 draft pick... no way he passes that up for another year no matter how badly we all want it

i think the captaincy awarded to him this year means its probably his last year. Come Senior Day i bet he walks out with the Senior Class

I know it's virtually no difference, but I thought Jaylon would be ahead of Stanley. Jaylon seems like such a sure fire and is more of a rare talent than a solid tackle. I feel like Jaylon is a can't miss prospect.

AJ Hawk was a LB who every team had in their top 10 and went #5 overall I believe, and Jaylon is significantly better than him IMO.

I agree, but there's just simply more Tackles that can do what Stanley can do, than LBs who can do what Jaylon can do IMO. He's the most physically talented player I've ever seen at ND.

Would think Day would be a late 1st round pick with his play this season.

Jaylon Smith is, by all accounts, a tremendous human being. But I would hope that a Junior would not be allowed to take the Senior walk, no matter how good a football player he is.

Senior Day is for Seniors. Jaylon Smith is a Junior.

The NFL is a QB driven league, and LTs protect the team's MOST significant investment's blind side. That makes it a pretty damned important position.

He is. I mentioned in his thread the other day that Kiper has Elmer as the #2 underclassman guard. By the time Elmer graduates, he will probably be the number 1 guard in the 2017 draft.

LOL

Smart move for him. Why wait if you know you're going to do it and have the sweet insurance policy UCLA bought?

I'd put Sheldon Day higher and Will Fulller lower in terms of NFL ability. I think Fuller benefits a lot in college from being faster than everyone else and that margin will not be as wide in the NFL. Sheldon is going to be a quality NFL player for a long time based on his 100% effort every play.
