Highlights from today. Chris Brown's grab at 1:20 is nasty. I have no idea what his ceiling is this season, but I'd love to see him challenge Fuller as the #1 receiver. He seems like he has the physical tools, just needs to produce on Saturdays.

Looked like the ball hit the ground to me.

Tranquill's INT was pretty nice.

2015 PRE SEASON CAMP THREAD

My god the route that Fuller ran. His cuts were at full speed. No corner could stay with Fuller there.

I'm loving Yoon. He's gonna be a fan favorite in short order.

Lots of really good stuff this year. It's hard to not watch these clips and not think that we are just absolutely loaded with guys ready to play. Kool aid has been spiked for sure!

It would do wonders for me if we received a greenlight on Ishaq. I'm very worried about our DL, we have plenty of options but I don't know if any of them are championship caliber players.

Day - probably Championship caliber
Trumbetti - TBD
Rochelle - probably championship caliber
Tillery - TBD
Cage - TBD
Hayes - TBD
Blankenship - TBD
Matuska - TBD
Dew-Treadway - TBD
E. Taylor - TBD
Okwara - TBD

I guess I should be glad we actually have players to choose from. Think back just 3-5 years ago about our depth on both lines. Down right scary.

I hope we can generate some pressure without fancy blitzes and stunts. That'll make BVG's scheme that much more effective.

I know this is good that they are able to focus someone entirely on the option, but on the other side of the coin, it will extremely disappointing if the defense still struggles against it. Hopefully there will be value in Elliot's time spent.

Of course I want Ishaq back but when has he shown he can play Championship caliber football?

If your answer is the same as mine, he hasn't, then all he really does is add a question mark to the group.

Trumbetti showed some promising signs last season. Add the year he has had in the weight room and maybe he can step up and be a factor. Tillery seems to be solid but asking a true freshman to play on the DL is quite a bit. Somewhere in those TBDs is a player or two that will rise up. They all don't have to be championship caliber. They just need to do their part.

Not sure what this means but Avery Sebastian ran with the 1's the entire practice at SS. Could be the staff just trying to get him some work but I found it interesting.

Not sure where you saw this, but SS is the one position that a different player is at almost every time the 1's go out. Sebastian, Tranquill and Shumate are battling for the position. No one player is getting more reps than the other, unless the drives are longer.

Guys. I would seriously not count on Ishaq coming back. The fact he isn't practicing with the team is extremely telling.

Completely agree. It's another 'senior' question mark that was a 5-star, blue-chip recruit. If I have to choose having Ishaq or not on a team with roster space and who lacks a pure pass rusher, then I'd take him all day long. Twice on Saturday.

But, as TP and others (you) have said, it's probably a pipe dream and I should just accept that we need young talent to step up if we are going to win double digits this year.

IF Tarean was going to be ineligible or have a hint of that...he wouldnt be practicing. Notre Dame isnt in a situation where they would let him practice and not get Josh Adam and Dexter Williams reps if that was the case.

Tarean Folston is practicing.

I'm telling you kid will be starting next year. We are lucky to have gotten him.

I don't see him starting over Martini. That's not a slight to Coney. I just think Martini continues to be overlooked by the fan base. I agree we are fortunate to have Coney though. He's going to be a stud.

Did I misunderstand BK in his opening fall camp presser when he said they'd do what they could to get Ishaq prepared for the NFL,, including letting him practice in the fall if he wasn't cleared? If I heard that correctly, what's the difference between letting him practice now vs. after they get a ruling from the NCAA?

To my understanding you would need to be cleared to do team activities, which would include practice.

Per Driskell, who has amittedly only been at 4 practices, said he thinks the gap between Fuller and Hunter is smaller than Hunter Jr. and the field. Some pretty high praise.

No but he's an old wide receivers coach. And he's always loved Hunter. I'd respect his opinion highly.

I disagree. Coney will take over Jaylon's primary position. Martini will be the first man in for JO's position and the first man in at mike (behind Morgan).

BTW I love Martini!

Chris Finke pushing himself into contention for return man duties is a great story. Would be amazing to have a a walk-on freshmen see the field
