i love the swing in momentum but a dose of a loss quickly gets things back to normal....i predict we win, but being a ND fan....good stuff just doesn't happen

I know what you mean. I am however the eternal optimist all things ND though so you can't change my mind on this ;)

Do whatever it takes to get a commitment from ESB this weekend. 1 of my Top 5 remaining targets with Soso, Coney, Bilal, and Marshall. I would take Wallace in place of Coney or Bilal. I would make room for Gallimore if he wanted in too.

Heard from a good source that Oklahoma is the leader with the FL schools (UF/FSU) close behind. OSU was not mentioned despite the CB currently in their favor at 58%. Not to stir the pot, but heard ND's laid back/non-aggressive recruiting pitch didn't really click with him. He's the type of kid that needs to be aggressively pursued/sold and that's just not ND's style at the beginning of a recruitment. Also, he seems to be a "whichever way the wind is blowing" type of kid, so there's still time if ND wanted to make a push, but it appears OU is in the driver's seat right now.

I agree with your top 5 though, and I'm more optimistic about our chances with Marshall than I think most people are. Not that it's likely, but hope is not lost there IMO.

@SWiltfong247: I could see #NotreDame eventually landing commitments from Brandon Wimbush, Equanimeous St. Brown & Frank Buncom IV: Notre Dame Crushing Stanford Recruiting Weekend

Those are three kids that fit the profile to a T of what student athlete means. This is why it so important to beat Stanford as we are competing for elite, all around people that get what ND is all about. Man, those three would be huge gets for real though!

Between the Michigan and Stanford weekends, I am not sure that ND could have done more to impress the recruits that were there, or even the ones watching on TV, although the experience is not the same. If you are seriously considering ND and were in attendance for either, or both, of those games, you have to come away impressed.

So how many spots do we have left in this class? At this point, we seem to have a realistic or better shot at the following guys

- LB Bilal
- LB Coney
- LB Kirkland
- DB Buncom
- WR St. Brown
- RB Jamabo
- TE Jones (interesting note: apparently no longer lists himself as UCLA commit on his Twitter)
- QB Wimbush

Can we/do we want to take me all if they want in?

I think yes depending on the Frozen Five.
I think we will see some defections at the end of the season as well due to some youngsters planting their flags.

In Wiltfong's article he said that the ND staff has made Bilal and Coney aware that we are only taking 1 more LB at this point.

If a few he frozen five are gone, do you think that changes anything?

Well I was under the impression until I read this that we'd be taking 2 more LB's so I'm not extremely confident at this point. With that said I still think we'd take both or 2 more with as good as these guys are. We might take 1 and then not spend too much time on the 2nd but we'd still take it, if that makes sense.

So if my memory is functioning correctly, we have room for:

1 QB
1-2 RB
1 TE
1 WR
1 LB
1 S
1 CB/S hybrid or taller CB
2 DE

If we find players for all of those, we are sitting at 27 schollies.

Finish with:

QB - Wimbush
RB - Jamabo
TE - Jones
WR - St. Brown or Broadus
LB - Bilal or Coney

and anything else would be icing.

So the '14 and '15 cycles would only consist of Martini, Morgan, Barajas, and ____ at LB??

Those look like some Diaco-esque numbers there.

Interesting note....not sure where to put this, so my apologies for posting it in this thread; not sure if anyone has friends or knows someone that can help confirm this or has read/heard any reports that can verify this....and it's not good news for ND....I have a friend who is very close friends with a woman who works in the administration side of the 49er's front office....To no one's surprise, my friend told me that Harbaugh is considered to be pretty much gone after the season; that the rift between Harbaugh and the organization goes from veteran players all the way into front office....who cares, right? Well, ND fans should. Apparently, the 49er's are putting out "feeler's" for BK's interest in leaving ND and coming to the pro's....From what I was told, is that the front office and veteran players like his in-game intensity, but that he keeps a laid-back demeanor off the field, has a proven winning record as a coach, and that they are afraid that if they don't put out the "feeler's first, they may lose him to another team in the NFL....So take this as a grain of salt....but apparently the "feeler's" are out there on BK and the 49er's are supposedly quietly doing this...also, for what it's worth, it was noted by my friend that because San Fran is a very liberal (politically, speaking) city, they wanted a coach that is very liberal....I personally have no clue what BK's political stance is, but I vaguely remember reading a few years ago that his wife used to be involved in politically liberal causes during his Cincy days....don't quote me on that tho.....Hope someone on here can help dis-spell this or find out more to confirm it....??? Again, apologies for posting this here, just not sure where to post it...Havent been on here in years and after I heard this news, I remembered this forum and thought maybe one of you here "might be in the know" and could clear this up or if this type oif stuff happens all the time and is nothing to be worried about or what.....
