I could eat some In and Out, but I couldn't imagine how may double doubles a 300lb lineman can put down.

So we were talking about burgers tonight an i remembered that I never told everyone how over-rated In and Out was. And it isnt an East Coast bias because I think Five Guys is over rated, too.

In-n-out is by far the best chain for burgers in the country..no debate. They clearly outclass Five Guys...

5 guys is very good. The only complaint is the bun they use. It is too weak for the actual burger. The amount of fries one gets is ridiculous. Don't have a InOut near us here in Michigan. Can't compare. We have a Smashburger which is awesome. I got a burger with a egg on it that was Delicious. The fries are weaker than five guys though. I would go to five guys due to the fact that the burger and fry size are ridiculous. I LOVE FOOD and A LOT OF IT. So fiver guys get my vote.

I read a crazy article about the heiress to the In-N-Out chain recently. Apparently she is a billionaire, which is understandable, but she is also a professional drag racer and she is in her 20s and has been married multiple time.

Anyways, I do like 5 Guys, but its hardly the best. The best "fast food" burger I've had is unquestionably the smokehouse double at Johnny Rockets. I've never had anything else there because that burger is so damn good I can't not get it, but I'd assume their burgers are good in general.

If you ever find yourself in Santa Cruz, CA. Stop in and have a Betty burger. Pure awesomeness.

In the Sacramento CA area you've gotta get one of these at The Squeeze Inn.

I think I saw that on diners, drive-ins & dives with Guy Fieri. Maybe not the same place but looks outstanding.

The poll went up before my magnificent transformation. Otherwise, there would be one vote.

Btw, though. There are vegan burgers that are quite good.

I am vegan five days a week now... But realistically I need a meal or two a week of whatever or I'd never make it...

Had an excellent seared Ahi sandwich yesterday... Today vegan stew.

Congrats Acamp. Trust me, you will feel noticebly better physically.

Do yourself a favor and pick up the book, Veganomicon. It's the vegan bible of cookbooks.

Here is a list of some easy vegan fast food options:

- Veggie Burrito with all of the salsas and guac at Chipotle
- Bean burrito, Bean tostada and any of the fresca burritos (minus cheese of course) at Taco Bell. Surprisingly, they use lard free refried beans.
- Subway Veggie Delight on Wheat (not all their breads are vegan, wheat is though). I get honey mustard on it despite some people claiming honey not being vegan. I dont take it that far.
- White garlic sauce based rice, veggie & tofu at any chinese joint
- Papa John's veggie pizza with no cheese.

That's all I can think of right now.

We do love our subway veggi delights... We do have a couple of vegan cookbooks, one is a vegan spice one we like using, big spicy food people, both of us...

My wife makes killer tofu spring rolls...

Anyway, I'll look into your suggestion

Thanks

Few things:
Del Taco well ahead of Taco bell is truth, but rightfully neither are ahead of more authentic spots.
InNOut boys and girls..., that's right.
Nothing against Chick-fil-A... I like that place, but the best chicken spot is El Pollo Loco for days... their chicken is the truth, also thought KFC got hated on a bit, it's not that bad.
Arby's better than Subway?? Surely not.
and Wendy's is higher than it should be, but I'm satisfied that they are still basically listed in the toilet.

Also, if price were to play a factor here, Chipotle would drop WAY down... maybe the worst 'bang for your buck' fast food joint out there.

Must just be a West Coast thing. Never heard of it. Curious where the pollsters were from.

Definitely take KFC over Zaxby's every day of the week. I haven't tasted the fascination with that place.

I thought El Pollo Loco was a national thing, South Park even had an episode on it/with it... I'd put a basic piece of chicken from EPL up against any chicken chain in the country, so much flavor... only issue with them is the same issue with Chipotle and KFC... freakin expensive as all get out.
