What's the point of polling if you're not going to punish OSU for squeaking by a MAC team at home? I'm going to be pissed if they are anything close to a consensus #1.
I'd goI'd go...
Ohio State
Michigan State
TCU
Georgia
Baylor
ND
LSU
Ole Miss
But...good hell the weight assigned to SEC Road wins, especially against Bama is ludicrous. 7-8 spots is too much, but 10 is SEC drunk...
I think we are deserving of a top 10 ranking but where I'm not sure. What scares me going forward are teams with good passing QB's (USC, Clemson, Stanford maybe) the db's haven't shown me anything yet this year. And if GT's QB was a better passer it would have been ugly yesterday. Where have colemon watkins been? I have yet to see their names called? They can't be any worse than what we've looked out there? Russel looks a lot slower compared to 2012, Luke doesn't look like the same guy as last year? Also at LB why isn't nyles Morgan getting a few snaps a game? He looked great at times last year? If alize jones is struggling to catch passes why not throw ST brown in there ?
If the SEC team that "dethrones" the previous SEC flavor of the week is also undefeated, I don't think there's a ton of room to complain. It's much more egregious that both Baylor and TCU are ahead of us. Both have looked mediocre at best, and downright awful at times. Even if Ole Miss comes out at #1 this week, I think Ohio State, Baylor, and TCU are much greater slaps-in-the-face. So yes, the polling is all kinds of fucked up. But the most fucked up elements really have nothing to do with the SEC.This is what the SEC does... Now Ole Miss will lose to someone and that team will jump into the top 5... It's a rotating door of we don't beat anyone but ourselves so it must mean the last team to win must be the best
What are you talking about 18 Northwestern? And who says Stanford didn't get any love? Neither poll is out yet.Stanford beats #6 on the road and doesn't get any love. Their only loss was to 18 Northwestern on the road. That sounds comparable to Alabama's resume right now.

I just think you gotta drop OSU now. They haven't looked great all year yet.

Baylor isn't better then Georgia or Ole Miss
This makes no sense. If TCU or ND or anyone outside of the SEC was 15th and undefeated and beat Alabama, no one would expect them to potentially jump 10 spots. But because it was an SEC team the beat Alabama...they DESERVE to jump 10 spots? This is exactly the type of thinking that proves the SEC bias.
Jumping spots is NOT how the polls are supposed to be conducted. You need to throw out the previous week's poll when you look at this week's poll, especially this early in the season. I'm not saying "they should jump ten spots," I'm saying completely ignore last week's polls and place teams where they belong. Not "where they belong adjusted for where they were last week regardless of whether last week was just horribly wrong."This makes no sense. Exactly. Auburn got hammered for that. Hopefully Ohio State gets the same treatment, though I doubt it. If the polls shake out like most of the projections have them, there's ZERO SEC bias in it. The bias is Ohio State and Big 12 bias for some reason that I can't fathom.Didn't Auburn drop 12 spots after barely beating an FCS school last week? I think results this early in the season can dictate big swings in rankings. I would have no problem if a #14 jumped into the top 5 after beating the #2 team, on the road. SEC or not.

That's NOT what I said. I stated the only 15th ranked team that would jump 10 spots is an SEC team. Obviously this is my opinion and I have no way to see if it is true. But, based off of past polls, the only teams that make those big of jumps are the SEC. If you read my post you would see that is what I said. I did not say I have a problem with the jump. I said I do not believe any other undefeated team outside of the SEC that beat Alabama would not jump that much.
This one makes a little sense to me...

Fair enough but I believe the only top 10 ranked team (Auburn #6) that would drop 12 spots after winning a game is an SEC team. Let's see how far Ohio State drops after beating an FCS school by 7.
