They have been rolled by two teams in three years right?? Stanford three years ago and Bama...???
That's a major improvement. The next steps would include rolling teams they should more often... NOT losing the 'wtf' games...
To be fair, there have been a lot fewer WTF losses than there used to be. Pitt this year and, I guess, USF in 2011 would be the only losses I'd describe that way. The rest have been to teams of at least comparable talent.
Regardless, we need to start rolling the weaker teams on our schedule. Squeaking by the likes of Purdue and Navy is better than losing, for sure, but it hurts us in perception relative to teams that run video-game offenses but can't tackle (ahem, Baylor). Good news is the offense appears to finally be rounding into form.
Rice - W (90%)
scUM - L (50% - Really this comes down to how VanGorder does against the spread because Gardner looked godly against us this year; I'm confident they won't stop our offense)
Tulsa...
Gardner ain't gonna be startin' next year I'm pretty sure. They got that freshmen that looked pretty snazzy in their loss to KState.
If we lose to ASU,I will forever hate ND, but for real, theres no reason we should. Also, I believe Stanford to be a possible win. We did beat MSU who went on to beat Stanford. Even when we played Stanford, we had two possibly game winning drives that ended in INT.They're good defensively but if we have the offense I think we're going to have, we should be able to get the W.
We don't talk about that game…ever.
Uh, if you think Morris starts over Gardner you are high as a kite. UM fans will say "Finally someone to compete at QB" when in reality Hokes job hangs on Gardner.

I actually agree with Irishblood here. Morris fits the O better. The seem to try to force Gardner to their O as opposed to adapt to his strengths. They have to go with what they think will win them more games and keep them employed, and thats Morris. Didn't Hoke inherit Gardner as a player and Morris is his recruit?
Some people seriously think that their 3 star QB commit Speight will be starting by the end of next year? That's insane. Can't believe how little faith they have in Morris.
I actually think Morris looked better than PSU's freshman QB, but I saw very little of Morris.
Are we talking on field play or physical appearance here? I know nothing about the later.

So Gardner throws for 450 against OSU and suddenly nobody thinks he's the starter next year? What?
Can you imagine a pocket passer like Morris or Speight behind that OL without Lewan? Yikes.
does anybody know why this site won't let me start a new thread? Will let me post reply on other people's threads but won't let me start my own threads keeps on saying that I don't have the privileges please help me if anybody knows why
Really? I thought Gardner kinda fell off towards the end of the season and wasn't as productive. The announcers at that game definitely hinted that Morris might get the nod.

I thought Morris played well in the Bowl, about the only player on the team that did. Now if they could just get their OC to do play action to his throwing arm side as opposed to him doing it to the right then turning all the way around to throw with his left. It just looked odd and threw timing off.

Morris wasn't asked to do much, he mostly threw short passes and screens. However, when he threw long he displayed surprising arm strength. Gardner's situation is interesting. Against ND and OSU, he looked absolutely incredible. He looked like Manziel - getting throws off with pressure right in his face and tight coverage. Then he looked terrible against some horrible teams and against MSU. So he's definitely not consistent but he has an elite ceiling. I think if Hoke wins less than 10 games, the seat will be flaming hot in 2015.
He looked good because he wasn't asked to do much. UM got ass hammered by KSU. So by good, do you mean like not as bad as Gardner vs MSU or good like Gardner vs ND and OSU?
