I'm not sure I understand this one. Is he saying Elmer was awful at pulling?

I'm in the minority, but I love the idea of Jaylon in the middle full-time (I know, I know, it says they will move him around).

Also, if Hunter is sticking on the outside, there is a stupid crazy logjam at those positions, especially if Brent can make some noise. That's a good problem though, and I'm sure some of those "outside" WRs will be used in the slot positions plenty in 4 and 5 WR sets.

Don't like to see Lombard getting banged up again... but I DO like Hanratty getting a shot to run with the first team. I like him over Lombard at guard.

I think irishman77 is talking about the entire team's demeanor. Not a lot of fire or passion on display last year, spare (intended) a few bowling balls from Jaylon.

Actually, moving Jaylon inside is a huge flashing beacon, telling everyone how weak we are there. Otherwise, we would not be moving an All-American type player out of position. But hopefully he can make the transition well, and anchor the middle of the defense.

could be he just did it for the media so they would pass on the notion to the world and give future opponents something to think about. I seriously doubt he spends much time playing inside.

We are not moving Jaylon inside. He was playing inside as one of two LB's next to Schmidt in our sub (nickel) package. With Farley or Turner lined up over the slot.
-4 DL, 2LB's, and 5 DB's

Your not going to take jaylon off the field and versus putting him over the slot and bringing in a LB to play inside next to schmidt, they are choosing to use players with more athleticism and size to play over the slot.

I totally agree. There are plenty of guys who can play nickel slot, and not so many who can play nickel LB. It's really a no-brainer.

Keep in mind that this is more about the guy on the slot. The staff is trying to see if the combo of Jaylon at ILB and Farley at N looks better than Jaylon at N and Moore at ILB. Really the staff is choosing to put Farley on the field instead of Moore, less about Jaylon. More about the other guys.

Seriously though, like I have been saying all spring this kid is going to have a huge season.

Yeah, but saying the starting ND TE is going to have a huge season is like saying water is wet. It's almost a foregone conclusion at this point. I remember people were worried about Troy's progress going into last season in trying to fill Eifert's shoes, and a few of us were saying "Dude, it'll be fine."
