I think we'll push for another athlete who can play corner if necessary, with BJax and Wood gone, and Jalen Brown and Atkinson unlikely to make it out of the dog house. Probably explains the late interest in Alexander.
Updated for Tuitt.
Think we wait and see what M. Quick, JuJu, and B. Smith do.
After that its McKenzie, Alexander, and 5th years unless someone pops up at the last minute.

6 scholarships now available. With Moore and Lombard coming back its 4 and we look like this:

Getting dangerously thin in the inside even for a 4-3. Pretty much guarantees Utupo coming back and moving into a base 4-3 mostly imo.

crazy how fast our positions of depth are now dangerously thin. one summer camp injury away from no depth and playing first year starters
so sick of no full 85 & saving scholarships for next years small class.
what happened to getting rkgs and developing?
In what sense are we saving scholarships for next year? It's not like we've been turning guys away this cycle. And as for RKGs and developmental guys, what do you call our army of three-star linebackers?
the saving scharships is a term thats been thrown around almost every year come january since kelly has been here when it becomes obvious we wont reach 85.
yeah three star linebacker are great right now since they are not needed but what about a three star NT a year or two ago while our depth was thick but we were under 85. kid would be a junior now and developed and much needed.
you can put your blinders on but there has been some serious roster management flaws at dt/nt and ilb since kelly has been here despite his rkg and developing comments. he has done it at other positions but not at the ones that were going to be obvious positions of need.
Does ND not allow EE's and use then against the 85 number from the previous year if slots were available? Just asking because I don't know. Thanks.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish
2013 record: 9-4
Quarterback Everett Golson is set to return. Notre Dame's defense should be better than its No. 48 S&P+ ranking in 2013. A hangover following the 2012 season's BCS title game loss to Alabama was to be expected. Still, Brian Kelly should keep the Irish nationally relevant in '14.
Why this ranking could be flawed: I'll leave this one to the message-board crowd: Notre Dame stinks. It's overrated every year. The media always think the Fighting Irish are going to be good, but they won't be. Stop pretending like Knute Rockne is still there.

I mentioned this yesterday, but perception is reality in CFB... and the perception is exactly this... 12 wins and getting embarrassed, or 9 wins and winning some bowl no one cares about is not 'winning' in CFB... Winning big time bowls and or titles is, until ND does either of those it’s hard to make an argument for ND being ‘back’ with a straight face for me. Obviously, that’s just my two cents…
This. I think it would have been better for our national perception last year if we had lost to Stanford in the regular season and then beaten Northern Illinois or K-State in a BCS bowl. The way in which we lost to Alabama erased the entire season in public perception.
It absolutely, without any question, would have been.
