Thinking maybe the "mystery" LB is Nile Sykes, ILB/OLB recruit from IL. Plays at Montini, catholic school that has won state 4 years in a row and will probably win again this year. Sykes is a 4 star on ESPN and 3 star on 24/7. Biggest offer is probably Mizzou right now.

Its not Sykes or Bentley. I dont believe ND has ever really reached out to them and itd be hard pressed to get into a recruitment like that this late.

I'm excited for the next couple of months. That's when firings happen and there are going to be a lot of big programs to make moves. Will be interesting if we can steal a stud or two from another school.

Another name to follow. Marcus Griffin a 6'3 285 DT from Bellevue Washington. He recently decommited from Washington St. and according to rivals has been receiving interest from ND over the last few weeks. The extent of that interest wasn't elaborated on but the good news is it seems like we're continuing to evaluate big DT/NG types.

just watched his film and even though he's not highly rated, imo he looks as good on film as elam or holley. would like to see ND take a serious run at him.

This kid, maybe throw in Budda with him, and you got yourself a deal.

Id take him over Elam 7 days a week.

Ballsy statement, but I like his film enough that I'm wondering why we haven't offered already. We need a handful of guys like him. If we can get him on board, do it. Do it now.

I'm not high on Elam. Sure he's a big body but I don't think he dominates like he should. I'm not a talent guru. 24/7 drools over him but there our big bodies. Plus he needs to reshape his whole body. I really miss Eddie Vanderdoes =[.

Love how he throws the double team aside then grabs the entire backfield until he finds the guy with the ball. LOL

Take them all, let competition sort it out. We need big bodies!

im sure elam is a good talent, after all he has the offer list to prove it. but to me his film reminds me of jarron jones, just a huge kid dominating kids half his size.

I don't see the comparison. This guy seems a lot more disciplined. He isn't trying to just bum rush the interior and clothesline somebody. He is patient and stays to his assignment. He comes from a pretty significant football school in Washington, so I doubt he'll be completely raw coming out of high school.

Per Wiltfong, Brandon Lee's father told him that after hearing that Brandon received snaps at ILB this season we have requested specifically that game tape to evaluate. If an offer comes from it Wiltfong believes we'll get a look. He recently verballed to Mizzu and is an EE. Also, the staff either just did or will very soon evaluate Griffin's film as a defensive staff. Some question of whether he's really 6'3, verification of that would go a long way towards an offer.

Gonna be pissed if we just now try to get into the game with Lee. He's local and had a full season of football, why wait until after he commits somewhere to start evaluating?

he was comparing elam to jones in the fact they dwarfed the competition on pure size and strength....your on the other guy we are showing interest in from washington

Wiltfong on IN prospects:
In my opinion Justin Brent is the only no-brainer offer for ND in 2014 and they offered him first.

I have seen all the top Indiana 2015s. None of them are a no-brainer ND offer as far as I'm concerned. Need to see more.

agree but I think that Drue Tranquill would make a really good ILB in NDs 3-4 defense. great athlete with great speed and football skills (perhaps a little like kinnan tatum). call me crazy but I think his HS film is somewhat similar to jaylon smiths.

Wiltfong just posted that the staff will visiting the 2014 LB that they spoke about in last weeks TV tomorrow. The kids family requested they not say anything so thats why they haven't came out and said his name yet. Kid is having a great senior season for a winning program and if a offer came they don't expect an immediate commitment but do expect us to be a major player. So it wasn't Brandon Lee.
