So happy to see the Lions get Riddick. Not so happy for Riddick that the Lions got him.

Still no Cierre right?

Whoops, just posted the Riddick news in his thread.

As for Cierre, I'm a bit surprised. I do think that Riddick was the better RB last year, but I thought that it had more to do with his skill set and his buying in to the whole system. I thought that Cierre had more talent and upside though, so for that I thought a team would pick him up earlier than Riddick.

Riddick is a better all around football player. He can return kicks and has good hands. The Lions could do some special sets with him and Bush on the field at the same time. And Calvin Johnson on the outside, they have some options. Should be fun to watch.

You've got to start wondering whether this was the right decision for Cierre. Just sayin'.

No you don't. He wasn't going to get any better this year, he has his degree, he has a daughter. His draft stock wasn't likely going to move up or down. So it was a choice of another year that he would've played for free, or another year of being paid to play. It was the right decision.

Mmmm not quite though. At least not yet.

I'm not saying it was the wrong decision. It was personal to him, and there were extenuating circumstances. He's got his degree and for him it was obviously time to move on. I'm just saying, if he doesn't get drafted/doesn't make a cut for a team, things could have been different after another year at ND.

Riddick's more versatile than Wood, that's all. Guy can play slot, catch out of the backfield, return punts. Wood's basically a tailback.
As for whether Wood should have stayed, that's tough. I can see the reasons to stay, but we're talking about a guy who'd had three years of heavy carries, and saw his numbers decline last year. Has his degree and a young daughter. Wasn't getting any younger and RB's a young man's game. I can see why he left.

Zeke just won me 20 bucks!!!

Going double or nothing on Cierre or Cave getting drafted with the last 10 picks

Not a bad draft for Notre Dame. Someone needs to pick Wood though.

Suprised Zeke was chosen over both Tony Jefferson and Robert Lester. Good for him

Pretty sure we drafted 1/3 of the amount of players that were drafted from BIG 10. We had 6, they had 18. Is that right?
