Welp.

@NDatRivals: On back-to-back reps, Hendrix and Golson did an imitation of Tommy Rees' untouched fumble at Michigan. Chuck Martin watches perplexed.

Frosh that impressed with their physique: Elijah Shumate, Davonte Neal and Romeo Okwara.

Tyler James‏@TJamesISR

My highlight from practice we got to see: TE Troy Niklas flipping over the one-man blocking sled twice in a row.

He was called Hercules and he had little extra, and he has put on eight or nine pounds of muscle? He gonna break some d's all by himself this year!

Yeah brotha he has first RD written all over him! That to me sounds like he has his mind right after all the concussion talk we were having. Very excited to see what Gronk Jr. does this year!

I knew the depth chart would obviously look something like this, but now seeing it, just a few weeks before the first game, makes me a tad nervous.

Is Kona ahead of Nix surprising to anyone? Has Schwenke erupted out of nowhere like some Hawaiian volcano to become a force at NG? I assume they're basically 1a and 1b?

Yes 1a 1b. They will likely play the same number of snaps this year.

What's wrong with Hounshell. He played last year. He was not highly rated, but he has a big time mean streak.

My guess is Salvi will not be in the two deep by time Navy rolls around.

I really wanna see what Kendall Moore can do this year. He's got that sleeper feel to me. I think he could surprise a lot of people if he ever gets the chance to play in meaningful game situations

Hounshell was 1 of 6 players I highlighted. Yeah, he played...but sparingly. "Mean streaks," whatever those are, don't impress me much. Lots of dudes in the world have "mean streaks", but it doesn't mean they're good football players. I guess, for him specifically, it will depend on how much Williams and Shembo play DE in 4-3 sets. If Hounshell gets in, plays some downs, and isn't counted on for ~40% of defensive snaps, then great, I think it'll be fine. If he plays a ton of snaps at DE this year, then yeah, I'm a little nervous. Of course he might turn out to be awesome this year, but I'm not counting on it, at least this year anyway.

Day is a true frosh. Anytime true freshman are depended on for key contributions...I get nervous.

The 4 guys I highlighted from the secondary: do I really need to explain my nervousness there? 1 sophomore who's never played a down, 1 sophomore who's never taken snaps in a game at CB, and 2 seniors (are they both 5th years, or just McCarthy?) who have basically never been able to contribute defensively on game days.

The depth chart will look a little different in a couple weeks...and again in a couple months. I really hope Hardy, Shumate, Jones, and/or _____ are all able to step up and help contribute this year. I hope J. Atkinson is able to really step up and be the 2nd/3rd CB the team will desperately need. But yeah, that depth chart, as it stands today, makes me nervous. Frankly, I wonder about anybody who feels good about it the way it currently looks.

I like the Golson looked in that video

Yes, I know there was no defense on the field!
