I somehow skipped over and never say Veritate Duce Progredi's post, so I thought you guys came up with a new nickname for me over the weekend, as was under the impression I was the first and only to compare to TJ Jr.

My bad.

Nicknames using VDP don't take much to come up with and ain't none of 'em kind.

I definitely don't see an extra gear to TJJ. Kid is put together, and his ability to catch the ball is terrific, he looks like a natural football player. But he ain't fast, and he ain't close to it either.

What do you guys think his 40 time will be? From his tape there doesn't seem to be a lot of pop. Maybe 4.7 range?

I'm setting the O/U at 4.63. Let the vbucks flow.

Are these opening camps laser timed or hand timed? Hand timed I'd take under, laser time I'd take over. This isn't to say I'm not high on his as a prospect if he runs a 4.75. He'd be the thunder to Tyree's Lightning, and he looks like a natural pass catcher from his highlights

Laser finish. If he runs a 4.75, there will be some extra room on his his bandwagon.

He's going to be a load to bring down and has plenty of speed. We all want the 4.30 homerun back but Maurice Clarett ran a 4.75 (?) and was incredibly productive in college.

And I think Tirek is faster than that. I would say 4.55-4.60 is going be about right. I care more about his shuttle and vert.

Brunelle is a stud. Not sure why it’s taking so long for coaches to get on board with it

Agreed. If they get 4 of their top of the board guys at WR there's always safety/rover. Right now he's basically the same size Harrison Smith was when he was a senior. He's built for that business.

Just a little update on Tirek Murphy

Picked up his 29th FBS offer from Nebraska. Visited Rutgers, Oregon and Pitt since his ND visit with his Alabama visit not happening.

3/23 Notre Dame
4/6 The Opening New Jersey
4/13 Rutgers
4/20 Oregon
4/23 Pittsburgh

I think Oregon knocked his visit out of the park as they had a good recruiting weekend for their spring game like Oklahoma the week before. Hopefully ND gets him back on campus this summer and can lock him down. He’s an awesome talent. I’d love the thunder and lightning combo of him and Chris Tyree.

Sinclair and loy put in undecided CBs

Released Top 16 on 5/2: Duke, Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas A&M, LSU, Miami, Purdue, Tennessee, Rutgers, Pitt, Arizona St, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Syracuse, Missouri

Plans to release a top 5 by end of summer

NDMIA’s guess at Tirek Murphy’s Top 5:
Miami - return visit set for May, two teammates in last class
Rutgers - only hometown/drive-able school in top 16. Been there a bunch
Michigan - visited, Michigan has good connection to NY/NJ football (Chris Partridge)
Notre Dame - loved his visit, gets along with 1A Tyree, likes Lance Taylor
Oregon - visited for spring game, loved his visit and staff pushing hard for a while

The downside with Miami is that I think they might snag Jaylan Knighton in the next two months which would effectively end their shot at him. If ND can’t bear Rutgers for him then what’re we doing here. Michigan will be tough and they don’t have a loaded depth chart but they got Zach Charbonnet this past cycle and probably will get Blake Corum. So who’d he rather go 1A or 1B with between Tyree and Corum. Then that leaves Oregon who i think is a very legit threat here because their staff is all over him and they succeeded in getting that long distance unofficial visit. I think right now if I had to guess it is Michigan/Oregon/ND with Oregon with the slight lead by virtue of the latest visit clause between the three.

could be a guy we end up passing on due to numbers late in the game and losing his spot.

They both switched from ND CBs, yes.

This could be good news if it's a numbers thing.

Yeah numbers might be an issue. If they get to 20 commits, assuming below, then in a tight class he may not get a spot if they are picky after 20.

1 QB
1 RB
2 TE
2 WR
3 OL
5 DL
1 LB
4 DB
1 LS

If we indeed land Tyree in May, sounds like we might stick with 1 RB.
