So will they go full 247 and pull the 5th star they just gave him??? Oh wait, 247 takes away the 4th star when someone commits to ND. Nevermind.

Will EJ tweet: Johnson DID in fact take as many reps as the other participants.

Or can he only question other sites analysts?

Some of these camp assessments are jokes. So basically he dominated, again, but other receivers did less with more reps so he’s gotta get bumped down because they did more reps. LOL. Sometimes I really shake my head how they evaluate.

The sad part is that they get paid to do it lol.

It seems fair to penalize a kid for sitting out a bunch of reps, and bump a kid who did it over and over and over.

But I don't think they are trying to re-order the class, just tell you who had the strongest showing. Look at what they said about the first place kid:

"Rosemy staked his claim as arguably one of the best wide receivers in this class by dominating during one-on-ones and then taking over during 7-on-7, especially in the red zone where he caught numerous touchdown passes."

The kid was the #1 performer, but they aren't willing to say he is even "one of" the best WRs in the class. So take it all with a grain of salt!

Also, they said:

"Johnson would have been much higher on this list . . . When he was out there, though, Johnson did his thing - which means he ran really crisp, precise routes, showed off really strong hands and gave some of the best corners in this class a lot of headaches. When he was competing, Johnson was one of the best receivers in the group. . . "

Doesn't sound like much of a cause for dropping anyone, unless they eventually decide he's a headache or lacks drive or something.

My brother-in-law went to see him last night. Said he and Jakailin were obviously the best athletes on the field. Said he had a 24 yd TD between two defenders in the back of the end zone. He said, "definitely not a high school kind of play". Said it took good body control to bring it in.

I watched the first half, and have the rest DVR'd. They didn't use him a bunch, but he did gave one 40+ yard TD grab.

Excellent news. Now we just need Hawaiian Jordan, Tosh, the Big Kahuna, Ramon (hopefully) and a mystery guest?

The least active thread of a 5 star WR signee I've ever seen on this board. Suppose that means a good, drama-free recruitment. Is he expected to have an instant impact?

reason being is he plays in a run dominant offense so he doesn't have the WOW stats etc...he is a very complete wr, size/speed/route running

I definitely think he sees the field regularly and makes an impact. Claypool, Finke, and probably McKinley are all gone. We all assume Austin steps into Claypool's room but I'm sure Johnson will push for PT.

I think we're definitely getting Johnson involved early. He's too good not too. I also think he's going to have some wow moments in Fall Camp where he'll make some DB's look silly in 1 on 1's. He's a nightmare in those reps.

Measured in at 6 ft and 1/4ths inches. He was previously listed as 6'2, so a few inches shorter than we thought.

Don't get caught up in the listed height v real height. His real height might be 6' but he's a 6'2 football player.

I learned this years ago after meeting Jerry Rice. I never heard anybody say he was too short as he's listed at 6'2 but I was atleast 2 inches taller than him. I'm a little taller than 6' but not quite 6'1 at best he is 5'11.
