I guess when your families THAT wealthy, you can walk away from the degree even knowing you have no shot at the NFL.

That's assuming he didn't graduate in 5 semesters... did he? I know they have access to so many more classes online now and some guys banked hours during Covid. Who knows.

no way anyone can graduate nd in 5 semester, they're waaaay too stingy with the core curriculum and other pre-reqs, the Dome doesn't even really take AP credits

Hope he’s graduating early. Or that he’s transferring somewhere with a comparable degree.

I wanted him back as the backup but oh well.

I think he can play on the Bowl theoretically if they want him to still. Matters what’s he’s signed if he’s found a destination by then. I feel like someone did last year but just spitballing

I feel like they wouldn't do that though. It's a perfect excuse to give Angeli a tryout.

If you are going to leave, might as well get into the portal as soon as possible. It's the reality of college football right now.

After all the smack this board talked about Drew (who absolutely played his ass off for this team), now people are worried about the prospects of ND winning the bowl game without him. Unbelievable. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Seriously, wishing him the best moving forward. Drew played his heart out for this team this year and literally saved the season from utter disaster. Some will only focus on his bad halves (Cal 1st half, Stanford, 2nd half Navy) and that's just how some people are: cynical.

I saw a leader and a guy who busted his ass for this team, loved this University, and saw the writing on the wall. Can't blame the guy.

Thanks for everything, Drew.

I guess it is best to get his name out there before the table is full. Hell, most colleges are going to want their transfer QBs coming in in January if they can grab them that quick.

Personally I'm not at all concerned about the bowl game. Now the coaches can go full bore on playing for '23 and auditioning all the young duuudes. It's much more exciting to me this way, personally.

Pete seemingly surprised too

I saw Drew Pyne as a sure fire college coach. A very Tommy Rees kinda guy. Publicly quitting a program would change that perception to me unless there's a back story here... that will be interesting. Just can't see his Dad letting his football career be mismanaged for no reason.

I mean that's fair, and I'm not going to single out any posters, either.

Just seems like the overwhelming majority of the board hated on the guy and I assume think this is somehow good news, and it's a shame. Just going off of what I've been reading here all season.

Drew is by all counts a high character guy and leader of this team and he put everything he had on the line to get us to 8 wins, and people don't really seem to appreciate that. That's all.

If he wanted to go somewhere for the spring, is there really another option that going now? Isn't the portal only open for a limited time now?
