The stage has been set for a showdown between the 5 schools listed above. There's not discernible distance advantage that any school holds as they are all very far away. The most time he's spent on a campus out of the top 5 schools will have been Notre Dame because he spent an entire day in February and then a 48 hour official visit in June while Ohio State only had him on campus for a few short hours according to Lathan himself before he drove back to South Bend to fly back to Arizona. From everything I've read and gathered, ND and Ohio State seem to be the top 2 for this kid and he plans on making a July decision if he feels comfortable with it. He mentioned committing on his birthday in July but I don't know when in July that is. Anyway, it'll be the battle of the officials between Notre Dame and Ohio State. He's got some Arizona buddies being recruited heavily by Ohio State and Notre Dame (Bijan Robinson, Tosh Baker, Jack Miller, Kelee Ringo). Also, he goes to a catholic school as an FYI.

I’m guessing it falls in line with a top 5 that I mentioned a little while ago. Only change I’ve seen from this is the fact that he made it to Texas in June 1st but it was for an unofficial and he’s returning to Texas on June 15th for an official visit which is very concerning if you’re Notre Dame. Two visits in 15 days before a decision probably in July would be scary to go up against especially with the way Texas is recruiting, but ND’s still got a shot hopefully. I’d put a tiny outside chance that he ends it tomorrow at 4PM and skip out on free trips to Texas, ND and OSU but never say never. My guess is top 5/3

I really hope he schedules a return trip so he can see how much he's needed.

Derp. He'll be on campus very soon. Hope the staff can sell him on what ND has to offer. Not the least of which is a desirable roster.

D. Allen and Moala will likely be moved to LB so that leaves us with some big openings at safety.

There are some nice prospects at ND when it comes to safety but Hamilton & Ransom would be better than anything else in the country. All the vbucks on that. How can a kid in his position look at what ND's doing with arguably the the #1 tandem returning next year ( a 3 star and a no star) and not want to be all over teaming up with Mr. Hamilton. LSU can't match that now or with him and Hamilton.

But LSU is the SEC!

We led coming out of his first visit was very high on ND. No doubt we have faded but this is the perfect time to get him on campus before a July commitment. Why it's so damn important to get these kids on campus in January and Feb and have them come back a few months later. We aren't in his top 5 without that visit.

Not thrilled he’s visiting OSU and Texas after us. And presumably will get back to LSU at some point?

Also, are we that down on Derek Allen as a safety to assume this kid walks in and pairs up with Hamilton? Or is Allen an LB regardless?

LSU already got their OV already. Doesn't sound like a return will be in the cards. He did unofficial visits then OV's. Once OV's are done, decision is expected.

It's way too early to be down on D Allen but reports suggest he's still a year away unless a light bulb goes off this summer/fall. And he's a big kid, could very easily slide down to LB.

This and I'd say that about any prospect/player that hasn't been "on campus" for at least 1 year.

LSU got Major Burns, does this turn him away from LSU??

He is definitely needed at ND and I remember we led earlier this year; hope this visit reconfirms that. Is his high school coach an ND grad?

His coach went to DII juggernaut NWMS & then Mizzou.

The AZ coach who's the famous alum was Steve Belle's at Hamilton. He was Tony Rice's back up.

Should be noted that none of that is coming from Lathan. He’s still on campus and nobody can speak with him until he leaves. Seems premature but that’s what you get when someone is always trying to be first.

Blair Angulo was doing a chat regarding his region's (247 west coast/southwest) top prospects and was asked about Lathan and his ND official. His words were much more optimistic than what I would've expected. He also stated that there are some in Lathan's camp that think his best fit is at ND. Also, him and Henning are sure having fun on twitter. However, I refuse to get my hopes up.
