Well this just seems to confusing. So, we landed a guy in the 19' cycle you love and we haven't even hit OV season for the 20' cycle, but RB recruiting is a joke? Seems like an overreaction.

Kyren saved us last year. Before Kyren committed, we didn’t seem to have traction with any RB recruit (besides Kyren). If he would’ve decided to go somewhere else, I don’t know what they would’ve done.

I’m certainly not writing anything off. You’re right, there is still a long way to go before NSD. But I haven’t heard of anyone trying to schedule an OV to South Bend. Tyree is a pipe dream and Robinson is look like one as well. At the current moment, running back recruiting is average at best. With the way Notre Dame recruits the o-line, Notre Dame should be hitting it out of the park with running backs.

And one guy, Kyren Williams, does not make up for the lack of playmakers the staff has been able to get in the backfield in recent years. The 2018 guys are unproven and it’s early, so I won’t say anything on that. The 2017 guys, Armstrong and Davis, come from different positions so I can’t say “Yeah, that was a good running back recruit victory”. 2016 was Tony Jones and I’m not sure we can call him a success or not, the jury is still out. We have to go all the way back to 2015 when we landed Dex and Adams. We can label both of them as studs and big recruiting wins. Since 2016, the staff has not landed much at running back. I’m not counting Holmes or McIntosh.

I would give it until May 1st to start questioning the staff's RB recruiting. Most of the guys being recruited will take their OV's before deciding and most them won't even take them until Summer or Fall. Bijan Robinson mentioned he wanted to commit at an All Star game and possibly sign in February.

.9867 4* Chris Tyree - visited, made his Top 10, fall OV likely
.9809 4* Bijan Robinson - already planning a trip
.9521 4* Seth McGowan - made his Top 8, high academic kid
.9309 4* Michael Drennen II - 4h away, Duke, N'Western, Michigan, UVA, Vandy offers
.9024 4* Tirek Murphy - Has ND connections, "definitely" visiting

There will be more than just these guys, but not a bad place to start and Lance Taylor might've only been talking to them for a week or two now so there's a long way to go. Plus there are other top dudes getting some higher academic offers that may be in line to get offers down the road as well.

.9739 4* Jalen Berger - Duke, Michigan, Vandy, UNC, BC, Maryland, UF
.9590 4* EJ Smith - Duke, Michigan, USC, BC, UF
.9486 4* Jo'Quavious Marks - Michigan, UVA, BC, UF, Texas, Wisconsin, GT
.9401 4* Lamy Constant - Duke, Michigan, BC, Illinois, Maryland, UF, Washington
.9145 4* Sam Adams II - Cal, Michigan, UCLA, Illinois, Maryland, UF, Washington
.9127 4* Blake Corum - Michigan, USC, Vandy, UVA, UNC, BC, Maryland, Wisconsin

Kyren committed on June 21st of 2018. They missed on a couple, told a couple no thank you (Chez Mellusi), and went all in on Kyren, in JUNE. 6 months before he could even sign. I'm not sure how you could possibly turn that situation into a bad thing. Good grief. They got one of their guys who apparently you love.

Correct, and do you know why that is? Because they are planning multiple Junior Days and unofficial visits prior to those. Have you heard of any position group scheduling OV's at this time? At this point, how many OV's are scheduled? RB recruiting has absolutely nothing to do with it. They are trying to get guys on multiple trips. Junior Day visit/unofficial + OV. This has been the plan all along. They have unofficials scheduled all the way out to March 30 as of today. Heck on Jan. 26th they had both Michael Drennen and Donovan Edwards on campus. Those are two studs. Both will probably be coming back.

as long as ND can get them on campus they have a chance.

Wish that were the case but I don't see him even visiting. I think he's the best RB in this class not named Zach Evans.... who might be the best RB to come out of Texas since AD.

TBH I never really understood why a guy whose initials are AP would go by AD.
I mean, I get "All Day," but it's kind of a random nickname, and also just close enough to his actual initials to be confusing. As evidenced by the last few posts.
He should have called himself "Bunny." As in Energizer. Same idea, though perhaps less cool.

And why just limit it to all day? Why not every day? So he should go by ED. Perfect.
