Elko leaves and so 247 is hitting the sell button on every defensive recruit we lead for. Kenyatta Watson was dropped to #599 overall, but is a top 150 kid on ESPN and Rivals.

Decommits from FSU and looks like he's ND's to lose and he's the #599 player in the country now. If this is what they #599 prospect in the country looks like, I'll take that every single year. Kenyatta is a baller.

Bud Elliott from SB Nation added a CB. All 4 CB's for ND. Surprised more aren't picking this low hanging fruit.

Has just two offers since he visited ND back in June. 1 from PSU in last Oct and 1 from Tenn 3 weeks ago. Him committing to ND is an industry given.

Freebie from Adam Friedman @ Rivals:

“I should make it to Notre Dame for their spring game,” Ajavon said. “I’ll also stop by Michigan as well and take trips to Wisconsin and Penn State. All of that will be during my spring break (March 3rd-19th). I’m going to take one official visit. It’ll be to the school I commit to and it’ll be during the fall.

“My decision time isn’t too far from now, I hope,” he said. “The latest I’ll commit is May 25th. I could commit before then but I want to get it done by then because my exams start after that.”

RIVALS’ REACTION…

Notre Dame has been hitting all the right buttons with Ajavon for a long time and, unless something changes, it’s hard to see him ending up anywhere else. Michigan, Penn State, and Virginia Tech seem to be in that next tier and it is clear the Hokies have some momentum. Wisconsin, Clemson, and Georgia have some time to make up ground and keep an eye on Oklahoma because of his relationship with Shane Beamer.

Outside of Ajavon’s visits during his spring break, it will be tough for him to take a ton of visits. He is one of the best track athletes in Virginia and specializes in the 55-meter hurdles. He ran recorded a 7.86 earlier this month and is trying to break the school record of 7.74 this season.

Freebie from 247:

https://247sports.com/college/notre-dame/Article/Episcopal-teammates-fit-Notre-Dame-115983738

The Irish offered Ajavon over a year ago, having hosted the 6-foot, 185-pound safety on two unofficial visits.

The Top 150 prospect holds 17 total offers, including Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, and others.

“(Ajavon) came over when he was about six-years-old from West Africa, moved to Baltimore and began his schooling,” Voulgaris said. “They came upon an organization in Baltimore I worked extensively with in the past. Through that, he was introduced to Episcopal and that how he landed here at E.H.S.”

“He could be an in-the-box safety or a two-high safety or a single-high safety. He can run well, covers a lot of ground. Obviously, you can see from the way he plays, he’s extremely physical. He can do a lot of different things.

“The thing he’ll bring every single day is passion, competitiveness, leadership, and he’s going to fly to the football. He knows how to square people up and he has great striking ability when he tackles.”

Notre Dame remains the Crystal Ball favorite to land the explosive safety.

I’d say so. Ajavon, Salim, Watson, Hamilton, and Wallace. I’d love that at DB

If we lock them up before September that would be ideal. Also it is crazy to think that we have a legit chance to land these guys this early considering how DB recruiting has been the last few years before last cycle.

Here is an article from Brian Dohn, it's premium. Essentially a decision will be coming soon. No other visits lined up.

Well according to the Friedman/Rivals article I posted above from Feb, he was planning on attending the B&G Game but he's coming a week early. Obviously on Commit Watch once he steps on campus and everyday following.

Says he has an idea of where he wants to go and could commit this weekend. Given that statement, the fact that he is visiting Michigan last has me a bit paranoid.

A very different feel after reading that versus Brian Dohn's piece yesterday. Kind of bizarre that he didn't mention the UM visit to the regional guy, but did to the UM writers.

If you read the comments, the Michigan guy is a little confused too as to what's up. I hope he is trolling Michigan and has already decided ND.

Yeah he would be a nice pickup and would get the class rolling to another solid DB class, would love for the staff to start picking up some solid pass rushers though, I think OL will work itself out in this class, what scares me is not getting some great pass rushers. This defense could be elite if that ended up happening.

I'm sure you're a nice guy but your run on sentences kill me.

To where?

Both were for ND.

The video posted yesterday was posted by MichiganInsider. Garrett Fishaw was the Michigan analyst who gave the CB and he owns MGoFish. As most thought, this is done. He all but says so at the end off the video.

Hopefully he commits tomorrow during his visit.

Sounds like he is waiting for the go ahead from admissions that he is on the right track before committing.

I really doubt these kids from Episcopal will have any problem getting in. That's a very good private school, used to run our indoor track meets there when I was in high school. They're not going to let someone in there -- athlete or not -- unless they were a good student and smart kid in middle school.

Episcopal is a 10 minute drive from my house so if we get these commitments I'm definitely going to go check out a game this fall.

some people probably would have said the same thing about Stepp at Catherdral. Hard telling anymore

If that is the case, I really respect this kid, and he is a man of pride.

To be clear, I'm not saying this is for sure the case, but just what it sounded like to me from the video interview with him. He said he has been waiting for something before he would commit which to me says he has known where he wants to commit, but that they just need to give him the thumbs up. With as talented as he is, I do not believe it would be that the offer is not committable but more likely that he wants to get an acceptance letter or a go ahead from admissions or something of that nature.

I thought I had read that he wants to be an EE, so that could be it.
