And it hurts so much! We are going to be elated when he picks ND but shit everywhere when he flips. Hopefully not the case in this one but so much truth.

He's not committing for the typical reasons. Once he commits, he's golden.

Here's what worries me. Mom and Dad are so much on our side, that currently the picks should be in favor of the Irish. Anna likely made her pick because I am sure she is still in touch with some of the regular Irish reporters.

However, with one last visit with mom and dad to Texas before his announcement, all bets are off. I think he picks Texas if mom and dad are happy enough with what they are shown. We need them to remain in our corner.

Bud Elliott with an ND CB. Weird that it happens going into the Texas visit, but I'll take it!!

The general consensus around this recruitment, heading into the visit, is that UT has a lot of ground to make up with the parents. Which is a very big factor here. Finally, last night, the UT 247 site admitted as much. Even going as far to say he was (EJ Holland) pretty close to moving his CB to foggy in front of this visit.

I think speculation amongst the folks that have been on ND for awhile, is that it's very unlikely this takes place. There are very strong feelings among mom and dad, for ND. We'll see how this goes.

This pleases me a great deal but I hope he agrees with them. The last thing you want is a kid doing it for mom & dad. He has to have some internal drive to be at ND or that typically leads to wash out.

We've seen this movie before, and it's not always a happy ending. When all is said and done it's the young man that's going off to college, not his parents. Hopefully, there's a bond with Lacey, Spears, and Cross. The coaches have made it known that he is wanted at Notre Dame. The final decision is Nana's.

After reading his last interview I became much more confident in the Irish. His only negative for ND was the cold. His negative for UT was the non diversity. Those aren’t comparable in my opinion. Don’t forget that ND was his clear favorite until UT jumped in. On top of saying his ND official was the best weekend of his life. I like our chances.

I get what you're saying, but parents favoring ND doesn't mean they will force this upon him. Read between the lines. He wants ND. My opinion about the parents is more like, "This is your decision to make and we'll support you. Just remember, we like ND because of the 40 year decision, culture, diversity, personal growth, etc."

Understood, and the point of my post wasn't to insinuate that Nana doesn't like ND. He's been a fan of ND from a long time before even visiting. He has a great relationship with the staff and commits.

The reason what I posted is relevant is because the values that his parents hold, are the same that he prioritizes, as well. At least that's how I've understood it. So if it's 50/50 between the schools, and ND has the parents support, that probably helps make the decision for him. FWIW, I would never want a kid to commit to ND if he didn't want to but was being forced. That's not how I would view him choosing ND, at all. If Notre Dame was in Texas, this would already be a done deal.

If his parents are in are corner and all he hates is the cold then I think ND ends up winning out. His parents even said they would buy a condo or rent one to come watch games which means they must really be on board. What is gonna happen if he gets drafted by the Packers he will have to play in the cold one of these days.

You never want a commit who doesn’t want to be here. Those rarely work out, especially at Notre Dame.
But reading Nana’s interviews, this one seems to have a good head on his shoulders. He might choose Texas in the end, because Home Town U is hard to say no to. But he understands what Notre Dame can offer and seems to value it.

I was told (by IE babies) that this one was over and Elston was choking away the DL recruiting class?

What happened?

Were people quick to judge??

Don't count them chickens just yet

He’s not. He’s just pointing out how many on this thread said it was over when all the Texas CB’s poured in. We may or may not get him. Nobody knows what will really happen.

It's recruiting.....there is no such thing as a "sure thing" until the dotted line is signed.

All nine of the verbal's are still vulnerable to de-committing right up to NSD.

Did you honestly not pick up on my rhetorical questions/sarcasm?

I’d certainly say so. ISD still very confident and sounds like Loy/Sinclair are as well.

Actually that’s not correct anymore.

There is early signing now.

I have no clue how much of what Nana posts to twitter is real and how much is for the “benefit” of each fan base

Texas board speculating that he might even be a silent commit to ND. Now we just wait until May 19th for the news. Would be an incredible piece to this class.
