No, David Ojabo will grow into a SDE. And while I agree that his athleticism is an extremely valuable asset. For our class, he'd need to be paired with another SDE that can give more immediate snaps. Not sure he'd be ready to be a two deep player by sophomore year. Even in his own words, he has no idea what he is doing. See ball/get ball.

Ojabo is definitely more of a project. I just think that size and speed could wreak a lot of havoc.

I know hes a bit undersized and not ranked very highly by any of the scouting services (for whatever thats worth), but i really like this kid. Seems to have a great burst and plays aggressive for his size. Perhaps a nice little speed rusher off the edge, on passing downs.

Would not mind adding him to the group of commits.

Anyone know which way hes leaning? Is he a take for us?

He absolutely is a take. I think ND is still searching for one more WDE and another SDE (maybe even two SDE's, depending on who you talk to).

Early on I wanted to pass on him because there were guys who I liked better but they didn't work out. Hopefully Aeneas likes ND's vision for him more than the other two schools because the only thing that would make him a better Notre Dame prospect on and off the field is if he were 6-5. Great fit.

I'll throw down a ND CB.

Which carries more weight than any of the fruit cake analysts out there.

He's going to be a great addition to this class.

Interesting to see how the edges on the DL play out. If we land Dicosmo do we take another WDE or SDE? Ojabo is SDE for sure.

I'm taking Ojabo for the same reason they took Kiser. It's a new level of athleticism at the position.

It does seem like he liked the Drop position. Stanford is pitching him out of position imo and culture at ND should trump Michigan. I hope you're right. I have no feel for his recruitment so I'll hold your clipboard on this one.

I like Discosmo a lot but he will not likely be a better player than Nana. He should be a very good pass rusher.

I share ISD's general enthusiasm for Aeneas. I think he and Nana, early on, will be very much like Daelin and Julian. Hopefully we can get him.

I did find it interesting that Elston recently said they are only looking for one more DL. I can't see any way that we don't take two if those two play different positions are quality talents.

I definitely compare him to perhaps a slightly shorter Julian Okwara, but better change of direction. Their closing speed is similar IMO, but Aeneas can really change direction.
There is a PA fake in the first ~2 minutes of his film where he initially trails the RB, but then stops on a dime, and is up to full speed in a fraction of a second chasing down the QB.

That’s the type of in the box athleticism that gets the Koon excited.

Dwight Freeney says hello.

While at Purdue Joe Tiller always had undersized ends that created a lot of issues for offenses when it came to rushing the passer.

He’s definitely a quick twitch athlete, that’s for sure.

People always do this.

Dwight Freeney says hello for short DEs.

Drew Brees says hello for short QBs.

Aaron Donald says hello for short DL

Sure, there are exceptions to the rule but plot the heights/weights/athleticism of the different positions and most cluster tightly to the defined profiles with a few outliers.

Hopefully DiCosmo becomes Irish and hopefully he tears it up.
